The best tbe exhaust system i've seen on a DSM is an Apex'i GT Spec but it's hella expensive. I think like $1200 or something ridiculous like that. A buddy of mine had it on his Spyder. I could shove my fist in the end all the way up to my arm pit. And the note was like nothing i've heard on...
I don't use it in any of my turbo cars but i use it in my 98 Lumina only cause it has 240,000 miles on it. I used to start it in cold weather and the piston slap was so loud you couldn't carry on a conversation next to it. The oil stabilizer quiets it down a lot. I don't know if it's really...
Or, screw the hard line, spend $40 bucks and get a braided line that runs from the master to the slave and tear out the hard lines and accumulator. It adds 5hp :)
Its an easy job its just a PITA to get wrenches and what not in the tight space to loosen nuts/bolts. I suggest a tapered flare wrench to loosen the hard line on top of the cylinder. Also if you haveit, the A/C lines get in the way. There are 2 bolts holding it the fire wall. One is a stud...
I ran a 3076r on a 2.4. 1mm oversized valves, ported, 272's, Magnus SMIM, custom 3" O2 housing. Made full boost by about 3800 give or take and made 452whp on E85 with a pretty conservative tune.
Ha,i got pulled over once because my bov went off and the cop thought i squaked the tires. It was really hilarious trying to explain to him what it was. Ended up getting out of it though.
If your looking at 04-06 F150s stay away from the 04s with the 3.73 rear end. I think they're only found in the FX-4s. My 04 fx4 rear end went out at 62,000 miles and warranty covered it completely but it went out again 5,000 miles after they replaced it and warranty wouldn't cover it again...
I have a strut tower brace for the car i just dont have it on right now ### it makes it even more of a PITA to work on. But i do agree with you, that's a good ideaI was thinking about rolling with this kind of idea. I can get scrap sheet metal of all different gauges and thicknesses at...
Like i said this isn't from rust, it's from the PO sliding it broadside into a curb. If it was a simple rust cut out and patch job i wouldn't fret about it. But since this has to do with the integrity of my suspension i'm a little uneasy about it. I know i can get it done with time and the...
No this isn't from rust. The driver side was put into a curb at 35 mph in the dead of winter according to the PO, but as i dig into it i'm thinking more happened than that. The strut tower has an upward bulge in it from the end of the upper control arm hitting it. This happened over time, and...
That's kind of what i was thinking as well but money is tight and this is my only vehicle as of right now. I'm a pretty fast learner. I have access to a couple different arc welders, i'll be alright after a couple practice welds. I may also have access to a parts car. Any insight before i...
The shitty part about that is that it's not the top thats messed up, it just needs to be bead welded and resealed. It the bottom thats in bad shape.
I'm not much of a welder, what type of welder do people usually use to fix this?
You want to see a good dsm video go to youtube type in outlaw vs jackel. It will show results for outlaw vs jackal, click outlaw vs jackel at the top and it will be the first video, DSM vs BIKE.
I actually don't know what rpm exactly, i just fluttered it until it sounded right haha. I was watching the tree trying to get my reaction time better, i started out that day with a .723, i must be getting old. But if i had to put an educated guesson it, i was right around ~3700. My 60' times...
Mine's kept outside. I dd it right now, to and from the dusty and muddy jobsites, in MN winters (at least i did part of last winter), down gravel roads, let it sit in the hot sun. I really need to get a new dd.:sigh: The undercarriage is actually in very good shape but the paint is so bad...
I made a half of dozen passes on Saturday. it was hott at the track, 88 derees i believe, with no wind. I allowed plenty of cool down time between runs (not that it would matter with the stock T-2small). I had a reaction time of .272 and i tried short shifting it and bringing it close to red...
I can't speak for any of those tires except for the Ventus V12's. My buddy has them on his 300zx TT and he auto crosses and high speed auto crosses it and they are awesome, they hold the road very well. He can hold a 110* hairpin at 55 mph and a high speed bank at 140mph. I don't know if...
Went to the track for the first time with my current Talon this weekend. All stock, ran a 15.80 @ 85.14mph. I was kinda disappointed, not gonna lie and i felt kinda weak coming from a Talon that ran 11's. But it was fun and now i have a stock time so i can begin building and see how far i...
i'm not big on the body kit thing either, especially on dsm's. However there are some cars out there where "body kits" or ground effects more so look damn good, as long as they're tastefully done, like 350z, evos, sti. And what would a drift car be without the body kit and a big shopping cart...
Without any way of logging and actually knowing what is happening with your engine and a/f ratios. It is much more safe to turn your boost back down to stock level. Which on a 1g is ~11....idk not a 1g guy myself. See what happens, if it feels right again then i would bet you were knocking...
I rode a yzf600r for 2 years and i've also ridden a cbr600rr. The cbr was definately more comfortable than my yzf. Just bought a Harley Nightster this spring and was the best money i spent. Much more fun/comfortable/reliable than the sport bikes.
No i don't think this will work, the electrical connectors on the back of the cluster should be different since the n/t models dont have a boost or oil pressure guage.Do your dummy lights come on when you turn the key to "on?"
As long as your doing this cap off the water lines that go to the housing. I had an OFH fail on me on one of my talons, it cracked and i had oil and coolant mixing. Went through everything before i figured out it was the OFH. They are there to keep oil temps down but i saw no adverse affects...
I don't think he was talking about the 420a vs the 4g63, but i could be wrong and if i am wrong i guess i'm the idiot. I just figured, for one, that a DSM is just as much a Chrysler as it is a Mitsubishi and since i said Eagle Talon that would be the Chrysler side of things. And i also vaguely...
I just recently threw a CEL and pulled up p0125. So i went to Napa and told the middle aged gentleman i wanted a coolant temp sensor FOR THE ECU and a o2 sensor for a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi with all wheel drive.
Him: what motor?
Me: 2.0L turbo...
Him: No, Mitsubishi or Chrysler?
Me...
My opinion is DSM and 4G63 because i have an extremely biased opinion. I have owned 4 DSMs, no srt4's, no cobalts. And i have never driven, riden in, or worked on an srt or cobalt. If someone can change my opinion more power to them. This thread is dumb
I got a buddy who had an 89 z28 5.0 HO, that was his first car. We went and picked it up from a redneck that was building it for "drag racing." I think he paid $1200 for it. Had cams, edelbrock 4-barrel, edelbrock intake, loudmouth 4-1 headers and exhaust, ratchet shifter, welded rear diff...
