Yes 1G auto in manual cv shafts are the same for the 2.0L on the right side. The left side 2.0L are different from turbo and non turbo but auto and manual are the same again. However, all wheel drive axles are different then front wheel drive, but they will fit auto and manual all wheel drives.
Sounds to me like you have a bad lower ball joint or control arm bushings had to say without seeing or testing them. I do not believe start out in 3rd has anything to do with your loud pop. Does it do it all the time or just once in awhile like if your turning a certain direction while...
Before you do that I have one more thing for you to check. Do you know if your still running the 1990 coil pack and power transistor. The 90's coil pack connectors use 4 wires and the transistors use 6. The 91'-94' coils use 3 wires and the transistor i believe 8. If you are not running the...
Yes, a bad coolant sensor will cause you to run rich once the car warms up. However, how are you sure your running rich? Did you check your plugs, black smoke out the exhaust, wideband? Also, does it only do it when you try and drive it or also when your in neutral? I don't believe that a bad...
I have flow bench tested stock 1g head and also again after I ported, polished and went to 1mm oversized valves. I have the numbers at home if anyone is interested in seeing them I can post them tonight. However, I have not tested a 2g head. I have always had 1g heads at my disposal so that is...
If you still have it apart take some pictures and maybe I can help you. My first guess was the viscous coupler but when I have burnt one up it has always left me with just rear wheel drive. However, they could have a viscous coupling eliminator in there for some dumb reason that would give you...
I would do that except for the fact that this looks to be the second time these pistons have hit some valves. I would rather be safe then sorry and just replace my pistons and not have to worry about them having weak points.
Well the head was actually saved for my 4g63t build thats going into a 94 geo metro. However, that project has been on hold for awhile since I got my new camaro. Anyways whats the advantage to the 2g pistons over the evo 9 I know they are cheaper but are the evo 9 pistons not forged?
Well I had the mishap of my timming belt tensioner bolt comming lose and my crank being 30 deg. off on my timming. Needless to say it bent every intake valve. Now here is my question. I have never done a cheap budget build always went all out on my motor builds. Well this is my daily driver and...
Yeah thats exactly what im saying. I have tried it multiple times because I could never figure out how right after I do an oil change im a quart low then all sudden im right on then check it again and im a quart low. Its crazy and its driving me nuts because I cant figure out how this can be.
Trust me I think its impossible but I can do it back to back and it will do the same thing everytime. I am at a lost on how this can be thats why I had to ask.
Can anyone tell me why when I check my oil it shows full. However, when I turn my dipstick 180 deg., reinstert it and check it again it shows that its almost a quart low. oh its a 4g63t awd
If I had to do it and I mean no other way around it. I would put the non matching wheel in the front and take it very easy. Unless you dont have a rear lsd then it really wont matter where you put it but my guess is you do so front will be safest. Good luck man
Can anyone tell me what size the bolts are. I can't remember for the life of me I think there m10x1.25x60mm but Im not positive. I need to get 4 bolts for my tubular manifold and I left my old ones at home and im at work now. Thanks
Put your hand over your bov and see if it runs better. The new motor has or should have more vaccum then your old one and could be pulling unmetered air in through your bov since you don't have it recirculated.
Try just turning the key forward letting the fuel pump run then starting it. It should start on first try then. The problem is the fpr is not holding fuel pressure in the rail so it takes the pump a min to build pressure. Thats the reason for having to crank it twice. So you can either try the...
I would run 5w30. Actually in my old dsm I used to run 0-30 because the lifters were so damn noisie and I was to cheap to change them pluse it was just a daily driver with 234k on it. Also I like to run a lighter fluid in my tranny durring the winter. Makes for easier shifting when cold.
You can replace just the pulley but usually a good steal brush and some muscle or a grinding wheel with a steel brush on it can usually clean the rust up.
When you have the belt off turn your alt, water pump, power steering pump and make sure they all turn easy. Either one of them has the bearings going out which you probably cant hear over the screaming belt or your pulleys are full of rust and the belts slipping on them. Good luck
Well if you already have your waste gate hooked up a differnt way then just plug it and put a zip tie on the plug. Oh and im assuming that hose is comming off of the J-pipe.
I was able to pull 32mpg out of my 90 gsx down the interstate at 75mph. Of course I have an evo 5th gear in mine but even before that i could get 28 with the cruise set.
Should of shopped around a bit longer always deals to be found by people cleaning out the garage and people parting out. However thats just my oppion and im just a cheap @$$ most of the time or just look for cheap deals lol.
I would say check your gauge! Either this thing runs like total crap if it even runs or your gauge just took a dump on ya. If not the gauge maybe your friends timming is off or the motor is just shot.
Make it 2 pry bars so u can try and evenly pry it out. Otherwise I have used a small chain around them and a slide hammer but that usually ends up with a broken c-clip. Most of the times with my luck the clip ends up falling inside the tranny and you have to take it a part but not always good...
Them bolt-ons without a tune will get you a new motor. You can't just go and start slapping things on the car and think your gonna get to 500hp. You need to plan out what you really want to do and what order your gonna get parts in. That means research the part and what its capable of pretty...
I have always cleaned blocks with tranny fluid and a lint free cloth. It is a very good clean and also overs a nice lubricant to keep rust away. Just incase you dont get it together right away. However there are many techniques.
I always use a relay to run all my HID's. Pretty simple and always insures you get all the power needed to your ballast from your battery and not your switch.
+1 on building a 6 bolt over the winter much safer and cheaper in the long run. I am going to try in do the same I have a na 6bolt block with 67k on that broke a t-belt thats just calling to be rebuilt. Also I picked this car up out of a guys back yard for 100 bucks he had no idea just wanted it...
Also what FPR are you running? That would be my first guess. However try cycling the key a few times to see if it starts on the first try. Just turn the key to run let the fuel pump run then turn the key off. That should build the pressure back up in the lines and the car should start on first...
+1 for the dowels or you have some crazy steps in your flywheel that makes that stock clutch grab like crazy and rip apart which i dought so im gonna go with improper tranny alignment.
Do a leak down test but im pretty sure your just gonna find a head gasket that is leaking air into the coolant system. You said you put a new water pump on when you did your timming belt. If you are able to do a timming belt on your car I see no reason why you cant take your time and install a...
My guess is the guy before you resurfaced the flywheel and it is now out of spec. Now the pressure plate has to move to far and doesn't have enough clamping force to hold the clutch to the flywheel. I'm guess its probably worse now that you have had the new clutch put in?
I would have to agree on a pressure plate bolt being to long actually had the same thing happen with someone that tried to put a clutch in an old corvair.
Unless im lossing it im pretty sure your cruise is all electronic no vaccum. Pop the hood and follow your throttle cables to your cruise control unit. Check to make sure its pluged in and that it is actually on your car still everyone likes to remove them for the extra room n the clean look.
Its not your viscious coupling. That is what provides power to the front tires after the rear tires slip. From the sounds of what your saying it would be your limited slip in your rear axle. That is seeing your car came with lsd or that someone didnt swap out your rear axle for a none lsd at one...
I vote just spend a day pull the tranny and take a look because if its as loud and as bad sounding as you have discribed you should be able to see your problem right away. Otherwise if you just dump the car your gonna lose money and always will wonder what was wrong with it but thats just my...
See after the 15 min is what really makes me think something like a bolt came loose but there just isn't really any bolts that would hit with the clutch only in beside flywheel but maybe im just not thinking right it has been a long day.
It's not that bad man. Trust me you will be able to do it in half the time now because you know what your doing. Without being able to hear it drive it im having a really hard time putting my finger on what it is unless its some seriously clutch chatter but never have i heard that discribed like...
Ok well either way im thinking your gonna have to pull that tranny back out. I agree tob isn't your problem or you would have a noise everytime you step on the clutch. You didn't bend one of the fingers/springs on the pressure plate putting the tranny back on by chance or while tighting it down?
I would have to believe that dsm_pwr is right thats what I was thinking but wanted to make sure. First did you take your flywheel off? I hope so to atleast get it refinished. Also did you use locktite when reinstalling it and did you torque them to spec or just tighting them?
Ok when does it make the noise? Say like I push the clutch in and start to put it into first it does it then it jumps forward n stalls. Or I put it into first and start to let the clutch out and then it makes the noise and stalls. Please tell me when exactly you get the noise and if your moving...
