LOVE this exhaust! Fitment is a little bit of an issue and for the 1G the hangers are all wrong on the muffler lol Not a hard fix though. Just take it to your local muffler shop. I love the way it sounds and it isn't loud.
Well I see your point in saving money for other parts he may want but why not get something good the first time ya know? I mean...there aren't too many people in the 9's but alot of people still use the slowboy setup.
I'm sorry but with most Ebay kits you get crappy couplers and no t-bolt clamps. Slowboy's route piping is NICE and it comes with 4 ply couplers and t-bolt clampsThere's a reason kits on ebay are only $300...you get what you pay for
Go with the Slowboy FMIC setup. Well worth the money. Short route piping and very heavy duty. They use a Garrett core and you can't do any better than that for the price.
Well recently we just put my brother's motor into my 1990 Laser turbo chassis. When I parked the car about 2 years ago ALL the guages worked perfectly fine. So when we went to fire up the car we noticed the tach was not moving. Reving made no difference. We do have the MAF translator setup on...
We haven't checked the cam angle sensor and we haven't changed the wires but will be checking those next I believe. When we removed the wires from cylinder's 2 and 3 there was absolutely no spark getting through that wire to the plug. The wires sat in the corner of my friend's garage under some...
I recently swapped my brother's motor into my old Laser. Our problem is that we have absolutely no fire to the two middle cylinder's....2 and 3 I believe correct? The car and motor are both 90 models. We have switched out the coil pack with 2 other coil packs and no change. We also changed out...
I want to replace my water pipe from the water pump across the front and back towards the heater core and I'm looking for a brand new OEM turbo water pipe. Who sells this besides the dealership? I've looked at several sites and extremepsi has the non turbo pipe for turbo's that don't require...
Sup mike it's Aaron. And yes that 3065 is an AMAZING turbo but if any of you guys are thinking about a 35R then check out FP's 3582HTA turbo. It spools faster and makes a lot more power than the standard GT35R BB turbo.
I can understand wanting to keep a clean look but the fact of the matter is...your not going to hide a frount mount intercooler by spraypainting it. And why would you want to hide that? Most kits your going to have to cut the front bumper cover a little. We're not driving evo that already have a...
What else are you referring to besides the throwout bearing? There's only 3 parts to a clutch kit...pressure plate, disc, throwout bearing. The disc's are excellent and are so are the pressure plates. I've haven't really heard much of anything but good about ACT clutches.
Umm....wrong WTF......Dude 1G pistons are able to withstand 600+ hp. The pistons are 7.8:1 yes but they are in no way limited to 400hp. Don't know where you heard that but people have made 500+whp on STOCK 6 bolts for years. Do some reasearch before you make statements like that.
But I have to...
Are you planning on running 600+whp? Cause 1000's and link will handle that all day. I would also suggest the FP3052 for it's quick spool up and capability of making big numbers.
Now if I was use I'd save the cash and build a 2.0. Let that thing rev like it wants to.
I'm in the middle of a full build up of my 90 GSX and I know I want to get a good set of brakes for the car. I would like to get Wilwood but it says they don't have a kit for the 1G cars. I know you got stoptech, baer, brembo, and a few other but I want you guys that have a 1G to tell me what...
If you do swap out blocks go ahead and get a 1G head. It's gonna flow more air at top end which is where our cars shine when you do bigger turbo, cams, etc.
Your gonna need the other stuff. Makes it easier anyway than piecing it together. Just call FP and talk to them about everything and they'll help you out.
I think it's definitely worth doing but take your time with it if you have a good running 7bolt currently. If you go 6 bolt go with a 1G head and intake.
I've heard the 3065 is a bit laggy. Maybe even as laggy as the 35r? But if your going to go with a 35r then check out FP's 3582HTA. Buschur tested it on their evo against the standard 35r and it blew it out of the water. This is the turbo I'll be running on my fully built setup. Check out...
No you can't prevent it or fix it. If it's going to crankwalk, it's going to no matter what you do. I have several complete blocks if your in need of one.
Why would Garrett recommend anything other than one of their turbo's? Of course they are gonna tell you to go with something else. The point is, a 16G has no problem making 300whp. It's not being overworked, it's not running out of air. The turbo flows 48 lbs/min. There are 1,000's of dsm's out...
Umm...can we say OVERKILL? Dude that's the kind of setup you need to push upwards of 800whp. And why would you run another 255? Just go with an aeromotive unit.
The evo3 turbo has been making 400whp for a while. So it's not too tiny of a turbo IMO. And he said he had a mix of 91 and 101 octane fuel. That's plenty for 23 lbs of boost on that turbo. He could run 28 lbs on race gas with that turbo if he wanted. So its not huffing and puffing really.
Go with a good regulator like aeromotive. Your stock fuel rail is actually pretty good. Should have no problem with that. Like The EE said, bump up your injector size and go with Dsmlink to manage your car and you should have no problem making 500whp.
Good luck!
How much did you find the wiseco pistons for? Are they used? But ya man I'd just find a set of 2g wiseco pistons if you already have the scat rods. The only 1g/2g parts I would interchange would be doing 2g pistons in a 6 bolt motor to up the compression a little cause the 6 bolt rods are...
That's interesting. I know what you mean though. I like to mod properly and do things the right way...so yes doing an aftermarket FPR would be a good idea. And the thing is, it's not too expensive to go with an aeromotive FRP kit. Bout $225 I believe. And that inlcudes AN fittings and stainless...
I read an article on some guy that put an evo8 motor in his 3rd gen eclipse. It started as a 4 cylinder model eclipse but come to find out, the transmission in those cars will bolt right up to an evo 4g63. Of course it was a little expensive but pretty cool idea too. Had to have custom mounts...
