Nice! You on evom? We should try and have a little meet sometime, unfortunately though I don't think many people that own evo's in this area get on forums.
I like the new camaros, but I still hope you smoke him. It bothers me when people think they are faster than all just because they drive a muscle car. The looks on their faces when they get smoked is great.
Thanks for the help guys. Im going to keep all this in mind. I'm not sure what starter he used I can't remember. I know he said it had a lifetime warranty. I'm sure it isn't an OEM one....
Thanks for the reply.1.) I believe thats what its doing yes. I can hear spinning but the motor doesn't actually turn over.2.) I'm guessing its a FWD flywheel, since I've never had any issue until I had the new starter put in.3.) The mechanic checked the wiring and he said it all...
Back in early July my starter died. Had a new one put in and all was working fine. About a 1 1/2 months to 2 months later it started giving me issues. When I would go to turn it over, it would just make a whining noise, but wouldn't actually turn over. I was told the arm wasn't kicking over or...
Well I barely got my car to start today. It seem's to be getting worse. Does anyone have any explanation of why my car could be getting so warm? Is that probably the cause of my starter not working correctly? I checked my temps in dsmlink yesterday just idling and they didnt go above 190.......
I think there must be a leak becuase one time I jacked my car up and saw water leaking on the ground. Know it doesn't oil becuase it dried up pretty quick.
Long story short... was getting in the 206 to 215 temp range a few months ago. Didn't like that so I put in a 170 thermo and set the coolant offset to +20 in dsmlink so the fans kick on quicker.. Temps were good after that never went over 190 really..Ok so fastforward to now.... I have to...
Hey guys, I'm moving to the TriCities area in a month. Either Richland or Kennewick. I'd like to meet some guys in the area. If you got myspace add me MySpace - www.myspace.com/14746035:thumb:
I did sandpaper and the mothers mag thing and now my headlights are fogged worse than before. Thinking I may just get one of those restoration kits from autozone or somethin
Anyone going to be out this weekend? I'm in town until Monday. They having the funny cars/jetcars/bikini contest at the raceway tonight.... anyone going?
I believe thats the same one I almost bought back in 2007 when I was looking for a car. It have the harness bar in the back right? Very clean, but glad I didn't get it lol
I guess it was just the sparkplugs. I took them out, regapped to .028 (not even sure if that gap is recommended at my boost level) them, and reinstalled them. I opened it up a coupletimes afterwards reaching the full 24psi and it doesn't seem to be happening anymore. Thanks for all the help
You could get the GST rims powdercoaded black (or any color for that matter)... i think that would look really good on your car... check out my pics for an example.
1.) disconnected breather hose and unscrewed pcv from valve cover.
2.) removed sparkplugs
3.) removed valve cover
4.) learned how to use my handy new lifter tool and removed all the rockers that i could get out
5.) jacked the car up, pulled the driver side wheel off, and turned the motor over...
I just took the car out for a little cruise. Here's a log. I have no idea why I wasn't getting any knock this time. Last night the knock sensor was picking up quite a bit. I noticed this time its kinda like a popping noise with some bucking and loss of power.. It happened right around 22 seconds...
I bled each and every lifter and made sure that i could compress them with my finger. I also primed them by pulling the engine fuse and cranking the car.I'm scared to even hit full boost just becuase of how bad it feels.
From what I've read, you dont have to put them in oil if you are manually bleeding them.I just can't figure it out. All I did was disconnect the breather hose, the PCV valve (don't see how either of those would cause knock) and took the plugs out. I put everything back together and hooked...
Mine!
ok, maybe not... I do think its one of the nicest 2g's in this little pos town though<img src="http://www.dsmtuners.com/gallery/files/8/2/7/0/1/l_24d6e0d5382842ee86dfdefb328d0274.jpg" alt="Nofear20" />
Well over the weekend I changed out my lifters becuase they were ticking so bad I was getting knock when cruising. Last night I did a WOT pull and the car bucked and jerked bad, and my knock light came on as well. It didn't do this before changing the lifters. Could it somehow be related or just...
I put a 170 degree tstat in, wired the fans to come on together, and set them to come on 20 degrees earlier through DSMLink. My temps at times will dip down to around 180 when before they hovered around 210 to 216..The 170 tstat made a huge difference.
First of all I have had multiple verify this is lifter tick, but please check this vid just so I can be 100% sure this isn't a bigger problem. Sometimes it seems to be even louder than this, like a clunking noise. But anyways here is the vid:

Lucas, I guess I just don't understand why I have to replace the lifters again. I've never heard of anyone else having to replace them again. Not only that, they are only a year old..Also I checked the alternator belt like you said and it is pretty tight already.... like i can twist it...
It would get dangerously low.. Like 4 psi, and the oil warning light would come on. That happened a couple times after driving on the freeway in the middle of the summer
I am so irritated with my car at this point. I started it up this morning to hear a clunking and squeeking of the belts like always. But once the clunking stopped there was barely any lifter tick at all... BUT I was STILL getting knock in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear when lightly accelerating. I have no...
The bad ticking was there before I even started using the thicker oil. I started using it becuase my oil pressure would get a bit low after extended driving on hot days. BUT.. with that being said the ticking has seemed to get worse over the past couple months...
If you don't follow the bleeding instructions to the letter, you can damage your cams and still make that same noise with "good" lifters. If the car ever sat for a long time, they can gum up and still make that noise... Car hasn't set for more than a weekIf your oil is cold or too thick, it...

Hi. Ive had my car for about 3 weeks now (97 gst) and a few minutes ago I left my friends house and noticed the Antilock light was on. So I drive home, turn off the car, and there was like a really loud buzzing noise coming from the front left side of the car. It sounded like it was coming from...
I had the misfire problem as well. It started a while after I had my 6 bolt swap done. It was easily fixed by installing DSMlink and just setting it to ignore all misfire codes. Theres also some trick you can do with a potentiometer without even needing DSMlink
