No, we would never knowingly sell someone a part that wasn't compatible with their car.In this particular situation, there seems to be a certain level of miscommunication. We build Eclipse 420A Heads and were never made aware the customer intended to use our product in an Avenger. There was...

Well, the chassis was given to my by a friend here in Michigan. It was super clean, and we where gunna do a full "put back together". BUT since we wanted a racecar, we decided to just go full race, and keep it simple. We just want something at our local track that can be there consistently...

Im with this guy, You seem like you are going to be pushing over 500 in the life of this engine, you will not want to go with a factory rod. When a customer states they will be doing anything near 450 to over 500, we point them in the direction of the Forged parts. Here is a kinda a ball...
What if he meant .5 mm over?? Thats just a normal .020 then... Just a thought, since most .020 pistons, even factory ones say .5 on them when they are .020 over. See Evo 9 piston below is a .5 on it, meaning .020 thousandths.
Please let me help!!Your best bet for doing a half rebuild, your going to want to use at very very min, new rings, and new bearings AND correct sizes otherwise you are wasting your time.:rocks:Also your rebuilt should be based on what made you tear it down in the first place. If you...
OH, and I am almost done with the Head! I will post a vid of the cams lobing when we get the thing started! About 1-2 weeks I am guessing. I will keep ya posted,
Jon
Hey everyone, its me, the guy we are all talking about :D.As you can see, we are not the 420a experts yet!! We are building one now, which is the green on on the stand, with no pistons in it. We where told that the Srt-4 Piston was the piston to use if you wanted a strong rod/piston...
Hey whats up,Yea, we are building 420a cams. We do not have specs posted yet, since they are in development now. We should have #'s for everyone by the end of the week. We are building 2 styles, one for All Motor, and one for Turbo engines. This way 420a builders can have some more...
Hey everyone, we're here!! Well, in Kalamazoo area, feel free to swing by! ( We have around 20-30 regulars out in the Zoo, good times!)Also, we are going to be planning some winter events for the western side, but everyone is ALWAYS welcome!Keep it real,

Hey, Well, I see you are planning on 500+ WHP. If you do go with a race bearing (H Bearing) plan on replacing them every race season, or 2 seasons of street driving. ( This is just our general estimate of life).H Bearings are HARD, and they don't take grit easy. BUT they transfer...
Hey, dont know if you got your answer, but its a big ol' YES!Ok, What happens, is 92-96 have "FLANGE BEARINGS" on the block. THEN in 97 changed to THRUST WASHERS. The crank stays the same, turbo to non turbo from 92-99 ( other models have this crank also, like the EVO 8... Evo 9 changed to...
They are on the exhaust side of the Block and its right on the round bubble that sticks out from the Block, like he said, Where the Balance shaft is/would be. There is one at each end of that bulge. I would say this is most likely your culprit. Hope this helps.
-Andy
Sometimes when we do a rebuild, the valves will not close all the way until the lifters collapse. We usually turn the cams over by hand quite a few times and they will start to close. Lastly once its rebuilt, you should have tried a basic water test to see how the new seats fit to the valves...
Hey Matt, good news I got one for ya! :applause: Long story short, one of my guys found one in a junk yard, and pulled it for me. It came from a 97 Galant I think, Its a SOHC engine, haven't even taken it apart yet,Keep it real,Jon
