Say that 3 times fast. Anyways I am building a all race 2g and I need a good suspension that can take some hard launches and maybe cut down my times. She will be a trailer queen so I dont need a 'comfortable" ride. What do you guys use?
Put both of these together get a Haynes/Chilton book and also get a new timing belt and tensioner. You don't want to put it back together and then a week later the belt snaps.
I spent a little over $7500 to completely "build" a long block and although my build is more extensive it adds up when you use good quality parts. Im sure you can do an ebay engine build for a couple grand or a few hundred but it sure wont get you in the 10s.
I think I am going to attempt this as well in the race car so that the fuel cell has something solid to mount to. If you end up doing it let me know how it goes. I will probably go with a steel sheet instead of aluminim and multipul support bars.
Don't get an ebay knockoff get the PR one. These DSM vendors are struggling because of all the knockoffs now days. I would suggest the PR one anyways because my old FMIC was a PR and it was great and even got me into the 10s. Deffinantly give them a shot I promise its worth your time.
A bad ball joint as stated would be my first guess. Also make sure your tie rods ends are good if its in the front. If its in the rear then just do a quick inspection and make sure nothing looks bent.
Yeah and some of the chain stores may even help you put it on. Or just go to a service station I believe it only calls for an hour labor and its like a $10 part.
Its up to you on which way you should go turbo or not of course a turbo would be more fun so just buy a 6 bolt 4g63t longblock and swap it or just buy a new n/a block and rebuild it. Its up to you in the end I would stick with n/a for the simplicity.
The part is $50 bucks at autozone I just recently did mine. You will have to take the intake cam completely out and remove the cam gear from the cam. Set the cam back in the head then the caps then put your sensor on and then the gear and time it.
any more info on what is going on? Its hard to diagnois a problem on those details. Check the 3 major thing fuel, compression, and spark.edit: beat me to it.
Take the kick panel apart and also the the driver side door jam. A while back a wire underneith the carpet on the driverside broke and was loose and I had the same issue.
Hmm it almost sounds like its in 2nd gear. I think its hard to say have you priced a tranny diagnostic at a local tranny shop? That might be your best bet as it could be the TC or the TCM and maybe the wrong tranny fluid. I would just check for leaks or maybe try some LUCAS tranny slip-stop see...
I had one for the first few months because everyone said I needed one, I never turned the boost up or anything but it worked fine none the less. Easy install and it cam with routing instructions.
I don't want to insult your inteligence but did you make sure the exhuast isn't hung up on anything?Sometimes it will get hung up on the cross member. Which O2 housing are you using? Some force may be needed to line it up.
