    2G Suspension Bolt/nut sizes.

Not sure if this will help any of the 1G owners. I pulled my entire front and rear subframe. Started going through these diagrams to get part numbers and replace all of my hardware. Since the thread pitch isn't listed I've been testing every bolt individually that I pulled off. I haven't found...

    wiring harness differences between 90-91?

Bring this back from the dead. I have a 92, 5 speed AWD that I need an engine wire harness for. I found one that's from a 90 and saw that the 91+ don't have pigtails for the TPS, CAS and ISC.What do you mean by "pigtail?" My 92 has connectors on all those.

1G Fix fuel tank or leave as is?

So I'm chasing the rabbit down its hole and have somehow found myself dropping the fuel tank. After cleaning it up a bit I realize the PO had "fixed" the return line with what appears to be JB Weld and fiberglass resin.Prior to this, I couldn't disconnect the fuel feed line from the sending...

Engine shop in the DC area

I'll give him a call after trying to reload the firmware. I'll call ISP and MachV and see what they're like. Past experiences seem to be mixed for both. I've bought some stuff from JAM and MachV in the past with good experiences, but never paid attention to their location. It's pretty nice...

Engine shop in the DC area

Thanks, I'll call them tomorrow. One car has an AEM EMS and won't start. Ran fine until the movers got it and hasn't started since. I've tested everything I can think of and it all look good accept the fuel injectors don't fire. I'm hoping they were disabled or something from the battery being...

    dyno shop needed/Balti/Dc Area

Just saw on MachV's website that they do alignments, tuning, and maintenance so that's probably where I'll start. Still not sure if they do engine work, but I'll call in the morning.I'll look into EFI Specialties too. Thanks.

Engine shop in the DC area

I should've refreshed my webpage before posting. I just saw on MachV's website that they do alignments, tuning, and maintenance so that's probably where I'll start. Still not sure if they do engine work, but I'll call in the morning.

Engine shop in the DC area

Anyone have any experience with DC area shops? I have two engines that need some love and after that I'll need a full alignment. The tuning shops that I've found from previous posts (Altered Atmosphere, Extreme Motorsports, and Ultimate Performance) all seem to be closed or at least their...

Bringing back an old link. Need some tuning or just trouble shooting on my car. Ultimate Performance is closed and the websites for both Alted Atmosphere and Extreme Motorsports are down.Anyone know of any other tuning shops around DC?

    Street Build bkrathwohl's Galant VR4 #1228/2000

This looks great. I did my front subframe last year and am not happy with how to held up. Currently working on my rear suspension so I'm going to try this Rust Bullet kit.

    Starting issues - No / Doesn't / Won't Start - MERGED

Anyone on here good with the AEM EMS? The CAS tests out good so I think the only thing left is the EMS. The EMS is either bad or the fuel injectors were disabled via the EMS after the car sat without power. Is there a way to enable/disable the fuel injectors through the EMS? I've been scrolling...

HID Retro Number 3 (2Ga Headlights)

You sir, are a genius. Great build, if I ever get all of my projects done I'll have to copy this. How did you get that Talon emblem etched onto the lens?

2G Driver side low beam hid won't come on? regular bulb will?

You said the driver side headlight is aftermarket and has a smaller gauge wire. It may not be big enough to handle the current. Both setups work on the passenger side so their functionality can be ruled out. Normal headlights work on driver side so you know you're getting good power. I'm not...

2G non turbo dash wiring harness vs turbo?

Look at the wiring diagrams in the back of a Haynes manual or something. You should be able to figure it out that way. I would doubt it works just because the Tsi should have a boost gauge and the GS doesn't, but it may be the same harness minus a few pins. If that's the case you could just add...

    Starting issues - No / Doesn't / Won't Start - MERGED

Fuses are good, no CEL, not running the stock ECU and don't want to pop open the AEM EMS just yet. Engine compression on all four cyclinders is between 190-195 (not stock internals), starter turns for days, battery cables are good, power transistor is good and I'm getting spark.I haven't...

    Starting issues - No / Doesn't / Won't Start - MERGED

Car started and ran fine before it was shipped from Germany to the states. About three months later I get a call saying they can't start it and the battery is dead. Once I got the car back I saw one of the IC pipes had popped off so I think they may have been goofing off with my car at some...

    Measuring ride height

I'm not smart on this, but here is my 2 cents. If you're concerned about wheel rub get the front end off the ground, compress the spring until you hit the rubber stopper, then turn your steering wheel from one extreme to the other. As long as nothing touchs you know you're good for the extremes...

1G Low compression and sporadic rough idle...among other things

Checked the ISC and there are no open coils. Pulled it out and other than a little radial play it seems to be working fine. Put everything back together and the car is running fine again. Going to take it out and see what happens when it's under boost.

    coil on plug problem

Isn't the tach wire the white one? the blk/wht should be the ignition 12v, ylw/blk should be cylinders 2/3 and ylw/grn should be cylinders 1/4.

1G Low compression and sporadic rough idle...among other things

Did a leak down test today. Cylinders 3 and 4 appear to be good, but 1 and 2 either have worn cylinder walls, bad rings or a combination of the two. When the engine is running normal and warmed up its at about 750 RPM. If I remove the oil filler cap it'll drop roughly 40 RPM. Doesn't explain the...

1G Low compression and sporadic rough idle...among other things

The PO has an AFC on it, but I have t touched that since buying it. The car ran fine up until this point and I've even had two 12 hour road trips on it. It seemed to have been running fine, but if you let off the gas quickly it starts running poorly so now I need to look at what controls the idle.

1G Low compression and sporadic rough idle...among other things

I haven't done the leak down test yet. Going to try that this week. Will also be replacing the fuel filter and running some injector cleaner through the system.

1G Low compression and sporadic rough idle...among other things

Sorry for the long post. I'll start with the back ground: The car has 61k miles on it. Not sure what work has been done to the engine, but there is copious amounts of sealant on the valve cover so something has been done to it. Other than that, most everything engine wise is stock.I took it to...

Because there is no Rally X option 1GA

I just got a FEAL rallyX setup. Car broke down at the event last weekend so I can't say much about their offroad performance, but they feel good on the highway. The brake lines aren't too bad. The rear comes with a bracket that you can mount the lines with one of those pressure clips. The front...

My "new" 92 Talon TSi AWD

In response to an issue I previously created by upgrading to the VR4 calipers, I started looking for new wheels last winter. Weird clunk when on gas

Sounds rotational and not related to motor our xmsn mounts. When the clunking starts does it stop if you let up off the gas? Is it worse when in a turn one direction or the other? I'd be a little surprised if you're able to hear anything with it in gear on lifts since there wouldn't be any...

Www.factorychryslerparts.com lists them at. $35.45 $35.85 $35.85 $40.10 I'm sure there are a slew of other websites selling them for similar prices, but I doubt you'll find them being sold together as a set.

My "new" 92 Talon TSi AWD

    (non-Ebay) Electric Turbocharger (Supercharger?)

I'm not smart enough to know what is required in making a shaft that small, but there are a number of people on the forum that have access to shops who have made larger aluminum pieces like bushings. Some of them may be willing/able to help. There is a member in BC that comes to mind that I...

ECU Wire Route (cut off wire)

Google "ignition timing adjustment connector on dsm" and look at the images. Looks to be on the passenger side of the firewall behind the battery with a single orange wire going to it. Not saying this will fix anything, but it may be a start.

My "new" 92 Talon TSi AWD

Putting everything back together is always the hardest part. My "new" 92 Talon TSi AWD

The first big issue I had to fix was the fact that the power steering had gone out. I was hoping to get lucky and just need to replace an old hose, but once the car was jacked up I found the culprit was a rusted line on the steering rack itself. So that was added to my parts list. Prior to...

My "new" 92 Talon TSi AWD

The first thing I wanted to do was fix the ebrake. First off it wasn’t connected so I connected it. Then I realized the previous owner disconnected it because the right line was frozen. The caliper itself was fine so I tried spraying PB blast in the lines. I let it sit for a good bit of time and...
