Those rear tires are going to get scrubbed off pretty quick.More than likely you're rear toe eccentrics are seized and that's why they don't want to deal with it.Camber looks like what you'd expect on a lowered 2g. I personally would get a rear camber kit (some longer bolts and washers) and...
Have you looked into the firmware issues that alot of guys have? Apparently 1.1 has alot of issues. Guys are either going back to 1.0 or down to 1.0 and then up to 1.2 beta. I've been having alot of e8 errors on my the wideband on my side by side. I'm gonna give this a shot tomorrow....
Mark aka tkrPerformance has a really good paper jig that he is often willing to loan out to people as long as you ship it back to him with a little more to cover his shipping costs. Might be worth a PM. You just line up the paper with the body lines of the car, mark holes with a marker, and drill.
QUOTE="Doug118, post: 153558375, member: 157333"]The car is a 2100-2200lb auto gsx. Should have mentioned thatYou realize Raus old tube chassis 2g was in the 21xxx lb range. Most gutted 1g dont get below 2600-2700. Where the heck do you think you'll be scrubbing all this weight?
I'm pretty sure the old Project Goodwill car got pretty deep into the 11s with stock longblock AND stock 14b turbo. You'd think in the last 10 years someone would have bested that with all the awesome stock flange turbos we have at our disposal.Edit: I just quickly glanced through your build...
My only words of advice is: Keep it simple. Set smaller goals that ultimatelly help you reach your end goal. You'll have a lot more fun with the car installing a few parts at a time and actually driving the car. Instead on taking on a ton of work, sitting on jackstands for an extended period of...
Long time without an update. Project is still moving. Paint is finally complete!Decided on painting it Cyber gray off a corvette. Couldn't be happier with how it turn. Its beautiful!
Finally got around to playing with my new TIG. Spent last night figuring out arc length and working on not dipping my damn tungsten every couple inches of welding haha. Started incorperating filler tonight. Still a long ways to go but for 2 days of tig experience I'm fairly happy with where I'm at.
Well I'm entering myself into the ring. Not a whole lot of pretty welds this evening, but in the 2 hours I was in the shop I got significantly better. Time to practice practice practice!
Failure rates in the evo realm has been found to be because of improper oil. FP has a wonderful write up on it that would be in your best interest to read it.
Tricktools is a great any to deal with and I'd recommend them to anyone. As far as a notcher I have the JD2 Notchmaster and I really really like it. It works very well. But if I were gonna go back and do it again I'd spend the extra money on a notcher that can notch in a bend, would have been...
A little more done. I'm having one hell of a time with the upper portion getting all the body lines right and headlights mounted up right. It'll get there, just alot of wasted material haha.
I used an eastwood pressure pot blaster and if I were to ever do it again I would farm out the work. There's a guy who would do a whole underbody in the $200-300 range which in my opinion is money well spent. You need a TON of air to do this. My compressor does just under 12 cfm and it wasn't...
Got a little more done over the weekend. All axles are in and suspension is together. Knuckles got powdercoated. Installed the polyurethane bushings and if a poly bushing wasn't available (like the rear lower control arm and the toe arm) they got replaced with an oem part. Decided to throw 4 new...
It's been over a year since this has been updated. Some things have changed, but honestly the car isn't a whole lot further. Financial burdens prevented me from getting much done for a while, when the money was there it was an issue of no time to work on it, and when I had time/money motivation...
It was perfect for me.I like this. In your particular setup you "needed" the additional oil pressure. You've admitted that that it isn't a "one size fits all modification" likes you've stated below....Now I'm really no expert. But I'll tell you that setting up several different Holset...
Why'd I switch back? Please read what I said before you jumped the gun and accuse me of helping any "click". I was just adding a real life example, instead of thumping theory
I'll throw in my two cents, you'll have to forgive my lack of exact numbers but I think I'll get the point across just fine. Car was a HX35 powered 91 Eagle Talon with Balance shafts eliminated. Car was used for light road course duty. Orginally the car was running a forward facing oil filter...
Nope, you use the 7 bolt mount. But i agree on the 7 bolt cover. Typically, I've used a 6 bolt cover and cut it up top and make it fit the 7 bolt upper cover like Jafro does in his videos.
Cam timing marks should still be perfect. In extreme cases the crank could be just a touch off. I got a head that's extremely close to service limit and my crank timing mark is just slightly off. The point is still pointing into the "V" but its not perfectly centered. Always drives me nuts haha.
I've always wondered if you used a bladder style fuel cell if they'd require any firewall in these cars. Since the metals only purpose is to protect the inner bladder which holds the fuel, it is essentially the same thing.
If you got all 5 bolts out of the tcase, just get a prybar and wedge in the bottom side to pry it loose. It won't take much, but its enough that you usually can't just pull it off the dowels. Make sure your face isn't underneath it!
I had a buddy run them with no issues. I'd also look into the girodisc bailout rotors. That's what I got and they seem to be the best bang for the buck (as far as blanks go anyways)
Finally got all my sandblasting and underbody bs doneAnd got the first coat of por15 laid...Only 2 more coats of Por15 and a coat of primer leftHaven't hardly gotten anything done in the past couple weeks. A truck w/ trailer merged into my parents while they were riding the bike home...
Was toying with my sandblaster and the shitty little clamp on the hose blew off. 100 lbs of coal slag all over my entire garage = a very unhappy guy. It also made me realize that I needed some sort of blast room to avoid the gross mess over my entire garage and being that the neighbors are so...
Stripped it down and swapped my hacked up subframe with an unhacked one off Chris's (Chris02rex) parts car.
Got the engine bay stripped down and ready to be shaved.
And that take us up to this weekend. I decided to finish up stripping it to the bare unibody.
If you didn't notice...
I haven't switched over to the build threads and figure now is good as ever. Please bear with me while I get organized!I bought this car when I was 18 years old. It was a rushed purchase and up to this day has been the single worst purchase I've ever made. I paid too much for a poorly...
