General 1G with 2G MAF - error 12, found voltage high

My '91 GSX that I've owned for 23 years (not a newbie) and put a 2G MAF in it 3 years ago ran great - low 12's at 112mph and several thousand miles driving - until now. I'm getting a 12 error code which is for Air Flow Sensor. I checked the connector pins as specified in the FSM and all are good...

1G Fuel Pump Check Terminal missing

My 91 GSX... It doesn't have a Fuel Pump Test terminal. The FSM says it's right here, in the firewall harness, behind the battery. Supposed to be a Black wire with White stripe. I've owned the car for 22 years and never found one. Anybody else have the same issue? I'll fab one if it isn't shown...

General Bad CAS? (don't think so) Blown ECU... maybe!

91 GSX, 6 bolt, stock cams, head, engine. Stock ECU with TMO chip...I've had it for 22 years so I'm familiar with DSM's and not a newbie. My car doesn't have a fuel pump connector on the harness in the engine compartment that I can find. I was thinking I had a fuel pressure issue so I searched...

    Low-Buck 1G Fresh Air/Ram Air Intake

Put together a Ram Air/Freash Air intake on my '91 GSX for about $15 using the stock SMIC ducting (I no longer have the stock side mount IC) some dryer ducting, scrap ploycarb sheet, and some fabrication.I carefully cut the polycarb sheet to fit the back of the stock duct so the round dryer...

    Stock Height Springs

Does anyone know where to get 1G Stock Height but stiffer springs? Not Lowered, not Coil-Overs.I need to get the car back up where it'll clear a speed bump and negotiate a street without bottoming the suspension. I'd like a stiffer spring than stock to retain my handling. All I seem to find...

NHRA rules about rear mounted battery

Does anyone know (please don't guess) the requirements for a rear mounted, DRY CELL (like the Optima) battery? Does a dry cell still have to be in a sealed box?Where can I find NHRA rules? I looked online and at their website but couldn't find any rules at all.Rick - '91 GSX :dsm:

Figuring Instant Center on an IRS ???

On an IRS suspension does the forward mounting point of the center section have any effect on anti-squat? How is Instant Center calculated on an IRS? On our DSMs the mount is bolted right through the center section itself. But on C4 Corvettes they use a long torque arm to move that forward...

    Midwest Mayhem Racing

I participated in the AMS sponsored "Midwest Mayhem" last Saturday at US 41 in Indiana and took third place in the Mitsu Turbo class. I had a blast racing and meeting some new DSMers. But my biggest thrill was on the track. Not only did I get the pleasure of actually meeting Darryl Hudson...

Welding a Center Diff - How and Why

The 1G and 2G Center Diffs are the same as far as operation and welding goes so this mod works for both.Welding the Center Differential can give you a couple of advantages on a DSM. It effectively locks the power transfer at 50/50 to the front and rear. It also eliminates some inherent...

    ACT 2600 Vibration/Harmonics

I installed a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel along with an ACT 2600 clutch with the organic street disc in my '91 Mitsu Eclipse AWD replacing my Centerforce Clutch and stock flywheel. With no other changes I am getting strong harmonics from the drivetrain upon deceleration in gear in certain RPM...
