These are some pics my brother took. Thanks for the gear oil recommendation. We had Redline in it but all I had at the shop was some Pennzoil synchromesh. I will definitely order some.
She is back together already but it did have a 4 spider center diff. I don't remember seeing a phantom grip insert. Would the 1990 3rd and 4th be the weak link in this trans?
I bought a built transmission off of Carolina DSM 15 years ago from Wendy (Girlieracr4g63). Opened it up today to find billet shift forks I didn't know were in it. I lost fourth gear and it ended up being a roll pin. Curious who made the billet shift forks, if anyone knows. Also, I'm not sure...
I can't find a vendor who makes anything outside of short runner intake manifolds. I may go with an Evo 3 if I can find one. I have a jmf on a 1g head that I built but I recently got a 2g head to build. Looking for a manifold with better street manors than a short runner manifold.
I'm looking for a mid length runner manifold and have only found one.

Has anyone tried this manifold or...
I do have ecmlink. Thank for for spending the time to post all that. I do appreciate it. I've been out of dsm's and cars in general for over a decade and seem to have forgotten a lot. When I do searches I find that my wording isn't close enough to produce good results.
I was just using the gauge in the link above as an example. Wouldn't mind having something similar that could display multiple areas of data in a central location.
I'm using the outer pulley. The top spacer is behind the bolt hole. It's the same as in the picture shown with the measurements. I'm fairly certain it's right and the same way I previously ran it. The spacers are within .001-.002" Based on the photo with the tap measure, I made the top spacer...
This is the same belt I used when I installed the kit on my first dsm and didn't have an issue. Since then I have lost the spacers and had to make new ones. It is possible by going to a shorter belt it could change the angle and give me the needed clearance.
Sorry. I didn't proof read like I should have. The adjustment rod is contacting the top of the alternator when I rotate it. There is a raised section on the alternator where the front and rear of the case is bolted together on the alternator. When I adjusted the tension the rod contacts the top...
I'm looking for a digital dash or a digital display that allows multiple sensors to be added. It seems most of them are for standalone ecus or for certain cars. Does anyone make a universal display that can be used on the 1st gen cars? I think I'd rather have this instead of 5 or 6 separate...
I made both of the spacers and they seem to work. Although, the spacer for the adjustment is giving me a small problem. The ride seems to be hitting the alternator when I turn it to adjust it. Has anyone else had this problem?
For some reason I'm unable to pull up the link. I haven't been able to find anywhere online that will build a rectifier for the lathe. If your able to, could I pay you to build one? I'm gonna keep searching for now but if I keep hitting dead ends.
I haven't taken it apart. It looks to be sealed with some kind of epoxy. It started pouring smoke out of the back. I may try to take it apart and investigate further.
Thank you. I do have the book but I'm not finding anything with the part number through search engines. Hoping I can find a lend on someone with some NOS parts or at least a place to start looking. Maybe someone up here knows how to build rectifiers. Just not sure how to go about this. One small...
I know there are a few machinists up here. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Nardini 12x30 lathe and the rectifier has blown. I'm not having any luck finding a new one. Does anyone know where to find Nardini lathe parts? I've googled searched and only hit dead ends.
I have a jay racing alternator relocation kit that I purchase 12 to 13 years ago and have misplaced the two spacers. I have not been able to get up with Jay racing to get new ones. Can anyone give me the measurements for these two spacers? Also, I vaguely remember a redesign on the original kit...
I've installed a new set of plugs and also tried my old gm maft. About to go do a boost leak test. Usually I'm able to figure things out but this has me stumped.
I tried a set of lightly used bpr9es and had the same problem. I will be getting a new set of plugs to try. When I've encountered problems like this in the past it always seems to be a boost leak or ignition problems. Not looking like either currently but I will get a set of colder plugs as well.
That is something I had considered. I do have my original gm maf set up. May try to swap it out. The wideband stays between 11.5-12 to 1 when the cut out and backfire occur. The car is just starting to make boost when this happens. I just installed the wideband yesterday.
I don't remember the specific's of this run. I may be varying the throttle to see if I could rev any higher. This log was over a month ago. I have spare parts from other cars. I'm sure I have a tps, although it has probably been sitting for a decade. I'll put another on. Thanks
It will be a few days before I can get back out there. I haven't gotten very far with dsmlink but I will get some br7es and log a pull. The timing should be the factory timing map.
I was able to make several full pulls previous with the keydiver chip. Also does the same thing with dsmlink. The wideband doesn't go lean either. I may try adding some fuel and see what happens.
The car is a fairly new build although she sat for 4 years and is now being finished up. I'll give some info on the car when I start to list what has been checked and changed. The car had pulled all the way till redline and then during a pull I heard a pop at around 4200rpm's. There were a few...
I can't speak on the specific's of AEM vs V3 but I know of several people making over 1000awhp with dsmlink. You shouldn't have a problem at 750-850hp with dsmlink v3.
Thanks for all the help but this was all my fault. I didn't have much time and was trying to get her running before I had to go back to work for a few day. The battery was relocated to sit on the passenger side subframe. I missed the connection for the alternator wiring and it was grounding out...
It has been parked in the garage and was running before. Just swapping parts from a built front wheel drive I had into this car. Ended up having some medical issues and I'm just now getting back to it.
I have tried to use the factory wiring as well as sending power and ground directly to the plug for the pump. Using the B/W wire and the solid black for ground. The pump didn't start and the dash started buzzing. Not sure what made the dash go crazy. The pump is new but I will pull it out and...
I have checked while cranking and there was no voltage. Installed an extra fuel pump relay I had and voltage went to 2v and fuel pressure rose to 18psi. So the pump did turn on for a few seconds. Now there is no voltage again.
Yes sir, it's wired correctly. I checked and checked until my vision blurred. There is a blue box above the fuse panel that buzzes and I can't figure out what it is. Does anyone know?
I tried that and only got some buzzing from under the dash. Also grounded the ground wire at the pump. Still got lots of buzzing from under the dash. Only thing I could think of is that it's somehow feeding back through the sending unit wires.
I have searched and haven't found anything in regards to this issue. The car hasnt ran in 4 years and I'm just now putting it back together. After the fuel pump rewire there isn't any power getting to the pump. I'm fairly certain the relay wiring is correct. There is a blue box under the dash...
bastarddsm, thank you for your help. Now that you reminded me of mmcd, I'm sure I have a copy on a CD. My palm is long gone. I was thinking there may have been a better or more common way to data log after a 10 year hiatus. I remember where tuning was when I started, but 17 years ago. Definitely...
