I blew out my rear driver side axle and probably my rear differential. I want to replace it with something that’s going to hold up. Currently at 504hp 474tq. What do you guys recommend besides a better launch
A big part of the answers you'll get will be based on what goals you have for the car or how you'll be using it. I would state what your intentions are.
I'd do some cams then. Depending on what turbo you are going to get you may need bigger injectors and another fuel pump. Cams would be the best choice in my opinion now if you wanted more power with both setups.
I would say cams too but the choice of cams will probably depend on if you are going to do a stroker build and if you want aggressive cams, you'll want to think about getting news valve springs etc.
I know people are giving him a hard time but the spelling is important for future users trying to access this thread via search. If someone is looking up "straight" instead of "strate", they are not going to find it.
I got my 1990 GSX with 56k miles for $3500. It just depends on if you find the right deal. Good luck finding one this week though, I'd say it'll probably be pretty tough finding one at that price in good shape in a week
Start with what body you like the most and take it slow. If its an extra car and not a DD, chip away at it one piece at a time. Who cares how long it takes!
In Minnesota if a drunk hits you and you even feel any kind of pain it enhances the charge from a misdemeanor DWI to a gross misdemeanor Criminal Vehicular Operation.... If he breaks any persons bones it is a Felony. I'm sure that is why he bolted right away and got his wife
I don't see why the second one would not be recommended as a daily driver. Also I wouldn't consider either to be highly modified... Are they using the Maf/t to tune? I agree with waiting to find a more stock one. I would rather pay these prices for a stock one and less for one of these
Definitely do a boost leak check. You can find a how to by searching. You need to make sure there are no leaks before you even start messing with idle/tune or you're going to make it worse*edit. Once you fix the boost leaks check out jeffgst.com. It will help with where your global should be...
Oh boy, way off topic! I don't have a hard time believing the OP. Like stated previously, traction would be a huge issue. It's kind of like the high HP supras. Seems they either go all out for dyno results or tame it down for the strip.Disregard, I didnt realize there were 5 pages!!
What type of fuel are you running? When I switched to e85 I noticed i had to prime the pump usually about three times before it would fire up. After that it would start up fine
You can search times by turbos that people are running. You'll find there are huge differences. Best way to find out is to just take it to a track. More fun finding out that way anyways!
+1 for the bigger turbo. If you are going to be buidling up the internals, why not go with a bigger turbo. If it is horsepower you are looking for then go with the bigger turbo. I'd also go with bigger injectors too, it's way easier to go bigger now than it would be to re-buy things. (I'm a...
If I was going to be tearing down the engine, I'd just put new pistons, rings, etc especially with that kind of mileage. With the increased power and old parts you might be looking at bigger problems down the road.Looks like you will need something to tune with also such as DSMlink or...
