I'd still say buy a truck. This way you wont be singled out in a flashy red sports car and you can have dark tint. It's a win/win in my book!Think of all the troopers that won't even take a second look at you ;)
By "back and forth" do you mean up and down on the crank or side to side?I just bought a new car and the guy claimed to have rod knock. However when taking it apart 2 flex bolts fell out and most of them were backed out. I don't want to mess with the bearings if I don't have to. I also never...
So...Rear LSD axles will fit both LSD Auto and Manual rear diffsand Non LSD axles will fit Non-LSD Auto and Manual rear diffsCorrect?I'm about to give up on finding a parts car so I think I'm going to have to start buying random parts and put the car together.
That's the only part that needs to be changed? I can still use the out part of the axle? What about the rear axles? I can use those with pretty much any rear diff?Sorry for so many questions but I'm finding it hard to find a knowledgeable person that is willing to help. Thanks in advance!
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread! It will help a lot when I do the swap.Do you need new front axles as well? I read that you need new front axles in a different thread. I just want to make sure when I put in the new trans that I don't need anything else and it can be a quick swap in.
I'm 6'0 and my head hit. I liked to sit kinda close so I didn't have to worry about really stretching my foot when shifting. With a helmet on I had my head tilted a bit.I just put in some Kirkey's a couple weeks ago and made custom brackets and it is super nice to be able to sit straight up...
I'd check out DB Performance if you can get it up there. Those guys know their DSM's and I wouldn't let anybody else in MN touch my car besides Shane or Danny.DBPTuning.com or 763-428-9882
There is a balance shaft on the oil pump and you need to make sure you have it in the correct position. To me, it looks like the oil pump is off a tooth.I'd personally re-do the timing belt and make sure you have the other balance shaft rotated right and try and get the oil pump aligned better.
L19's and the felpro gasket are where its at. Thats what I'm running on a stock motor with some cams and its holding together. It made 597 on a Dyno Dynamics dyno which should be super close to the 700 mark on a dyno jet.Call up DB Performance (763-428-9882) if you don't want to go all the...
Unless they have some sort of an ignition amplifier in the kit, it will perform sub par than stock coils do. I've seen too many dsm's come into to get tuned with a coil on plug kit only to have problems missing then we throw a stock coil setup back on and all is cured.Save your money.
Those new "o-rings" are called crush washers. I personally just buy new crush washers whenever putting something together, its not worth the pain if it leaks just because you were too cheap to buy some new crush washers. If its going to be back apart quickly then sure don't put new ones on, but...
I just went 10.8 @ 137 and 10.9 @ 140 this past weekend on heavy 2g wheels on Fuzion ZRI tires. I would love to get a set of slicks and some suspension other than stock and see how deep I can go into the 10s.I just had a question on fitment for the 2g guys running slicks.I put a set of...
Does anybody have any pictures from the under side of the valve cover after installing the -10 fittings? It seems like if you place them over top of the existing spots about half of the fitting will be below the baffle and the other half would be above. Is that how you guys the kept the baffles...
I found a local with a set of rpf1's for sale with Falken RT-615 255/40R17 tires on them. I've done some searching and it seems like they should fit if I understand right but I'm a little confused. Thanks in advance! Please answer the following questions when requesting tire size...
Jack the front end up so it makes it easier to turn the wheel. Then with the cap off turn the steering wheel as far left as it will go and then far right as it will go. Just keep doing this a couple times. Also be sure to make sure you don't let the fluid level get too low or you'll be in the...
Looks like you got the leaking problem figured out, but here is a tip when taking the line off.I put a zip tie on my hood prop, then wrapped another one around the line. Once the line is off you can then zip tie the two together holding the line up and not leak any extra fluid. Also you'll...
I've got their stage 4 clutch in my car and a Fidinza flywheel as well. I can say it holds the power I make just fine, mid 400awhp on a dyno dynamics dyno. It only has about 3k miles before I blew up my trans but so far I couldn't ask for more out of it.
Looks like a nice setup and Punishment racing always seems to have quality products. Although I don't have a ssac fmic I have a sbr one which has the same layout, and I do like that there are only a few pipes that could possibly leak.
Thanks for all the information!Do you think a stage 1 would last very long at my power level? I know its not close to what you make but its still apparently enough to break things ROFL I was hoping for another 50awhp so so come spring to get me to the 500hp range on a dyno dynamics.Also...
I had the exact same thing happen to me last night. Just starting making boost in 3rd and felt like I blew an intercooler pipe but I no longer had 3rd or 4th gear.Any body have this same problem and figure out what the damage was, or what all needed fixing?
Some very good information in this thread! I'm thinking of getting a setup just like twicks, but had a quick question.Do you guys think I would even need a slick that big?I only put down 450 this past October on e70 blend and hoping for 500awhp on a dd dyno with a new fuel setup and...
As said before you need a GM maf and a translator. Its pretty much plug and play. Another thing you might want to think about is maybe just picking up DSMLink v3. Thats supposed to have speed density so you wouldn't need a maf any more. I'm also sure after v3 is released there will be a ton gm...
I added a bit to the original post. Its looks like that because of how low I held the camera, aka not at eye level. The way they are mounted it only blocks the middle part of the needle on both the tach and speedo but still allows you to see exactly how fast and what rpm you're at.I figured...
Ever thought of just getting separate gauge pods and mounting them like I have done on my car? I think it gives it a little more of a sleeper look and is easy to keep an eye on them. The gauges aren't in the way at all. Its just the picture that makes it look like they block my view. They're...
It is used to ground timing when setting your timing. Is it still connected to the car? I just tucked mine out of the way.If you get dsmlink you don't really need this connector any more as you can ground timing through dsmlink.
On RRE's website it says, "On '97-'99 Eclipses, you need to grab this blue wire from the 2G CAM sensor plug and solder to the white wire coming out the CAS harness."The link for "this blue wire leads to this page...
RRE Instructions
No problem. Is that everything you were looking for? Can order the banjo bolts/fittings through Forced Performance and I think extremepsi also carries them too.
3930 from your local napa should work.STM - DSM ENGINE COMPONENTS | PISTONS | RODS | CAMS | TIMING | OIL COOLERS | GASKETSThey have them listed too, You've got a few options on where to get them from.
http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdfRead page 7. It looks like it should go to the blue wire on your 2g cam sensor plug. The picture on page 7 will really help you understand where it goes though. If you still can't get it I'd buy the rre or magnus's little cas conversion harness.
