Thought I'd start the buzz, but GT is filming again :) I'll be starting an official web/blog to update promo pics of the actors and such, as well as progress of the film and fun little interviews etc etc. I've decided to break the film up into 'scenes' that make up one act sort of like a play...
Act 02 may not be completed due to less and less time being available for things like this. So I've decided to post what I got in case we're looking at a flatliner. Anyway enjoy.YouTube - Garage Tuner: Act 02
Thanks for the comments and checkin it out. 1.5 scenes out of 4 for act02 are done. If it takes too long (as it has been) I might just release them as scenes instead of acts. I know everyones budget is tight (especially us dsmers) but all the feedback helps keep my friends motivated to do...
Thanks for viewing everyone. Preview of the PS3 Bluray/DVD and the Extras/Mistakes can be seen here :)
YouTube - "Garage Tuner: Act 01" DVD/PS3 Bluray Preview
Thanks. All shots were done civilly and in open areas where it's not frowned upon by the law. The editing made some scenes look/sound more aggressive than was actually filmed. I hope the mods realize this and even though some scenes in the upcoming Acts 'look' like street racing, it's...
Since I don't want to break any rules, please contact me (pm or email) for those interested in some shirts/swag. I have about 50 PS3 blurays and 50 DVD burns I'll give away for the few that spend at least $10 at the store. Thanks for viewing and sharing everyone. I never would have thought...
I couldn't really sell the first act due to copyrights on the music selection, so I have to give them out with the purchase of a shirt lol. No eta on the 2nd act since I filmed the first for fun not thinking it would get as many views and request for a sequal as it did.
Haven't decided on the price since I can't find a company cheap enough to make the shirts yet. But I don't mind making a few on DVD.The first song is Favorite Game, and the song list is in the credits if anyone else is interested.FYI to all, the video is now available on the Iphone/Ipad...
I just realized from another forum that it might be in bad tastes to put up the swag, so I've taken the info down. Would hate to get locked or banned, so you guys can contact me off the boards if you're interested.
LOL dallu22, I guess it kinda does look like an Initial D cover :( At least I didn't make it look like this:I guess it comes down to picking your poison lol. I was actually trying to gear it like a Best Motoring DVD cover, but meh.PLEASE do! I appreciate the help in spreading the...
Thanks for watching, I shot the video without the intention of making an actual sequal. It was sort of a challenge to myself to make something fun and different. I think people can tell that I'm not a real director and more of an artist the way things pan out in the film. So as an artist, I...
Lol when you put it that way it seems cornballish haha. Just like all the subi stuff for the subi kid in the beginning. I just wanted to portray that EVERYONE is a garage tuner in the film...hard to do that with no dialouge. Oh well...
The camera's audio input is fairly standard. I ordered an H1 mic to get better audio for future projects. The t2i, 7d, 60d, and 5d2 all seem to have not-so-great of a sound board lol, but it's surprisingly good for what it is.And thanks for noticing, it takes someone who's done this before...
Thanks guys. Yeah it's Savo's. I've known him since way back when. It's shot with a cheap T2i and Adobe Premiere. I really need to get a Mac so I can start learning FCP. I think it's going to be the new standard for alot of businesses.
Thanks wings!laserspeed no joke :( Adobe's got everyone by the satchel because they know we need industry standards to make quality video. Software should NOT cost this much...
Thanks guys, even to those that thought it was boring, I appreciate you taking the time to sit through it and commenting. BUT! I must say some of you dont seem to like to read haha (no offense). There WILL be DSMs in it, thus it is here on DSMTuners. It is an independant film, so the...
Well, i'm not 100% sure its a capacitor, but... There is a silver round piece that looks like gets grounded on the intake manifold of a 2g. I did a 6bolt swap and must not have tighten it down properly, and because it was lose, it was causing my IGN fuse to constantly blow. I removed it and...

Rebuilding a 2.0 and ordered OEM gaskets from extremepsi. I've put light RTV or gasket spray on gaskets before just to make sure they seal, but I wonder if thats really neccissary? I just don't want the front case or the rear main to leak for obvious reasons.
I'm reinstalling my evap for smog reasons and I tried looking at the Taboo diagram and got a little confused. Can anyone verify if this is correct? Here are the 3 part's I'm confused on and am guessing they go as follows:1: Vented
2: Intake Hose going to turbo
3: Evap Solinoid on...
Yeah I think it goes to the cd changer system actually. That's what I'm guessing since some ppl have this plug and some don't. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't vital to have plugged into anything.
96 TSI AWD 5spdI'm repairing the wiring harness in this car. I got a full harness from a 98 GSX. I was able to repair the radio harness, but there seems to be a plug right next to it on the 96 that isn't on the 98. Can anyone help figure out what this is?It looks very similar to the...
This 2g shell has bondo on the rear quarters due to the previous owner installing blitz side skirts. I tore off what I could, but theres a good amount of bondo left. I don't want to damage the body, can I get some tips on what tools/materials I should use to restore it as best as possible...
Can the rear cover of a 1G diff bolt onto a 2G rear diff? I may be getting a 2G rear diff that works, but the rear cover is cracked. It's alot easier to find a 1G rear diff than it is a 2G, so I was thinking I can just swap the rear cover if it's possible.thanks.
Found it. I can't believe what it was. The throttlebody-to-intakemanifold gasket was upside down....yeah...upside down. It was letting air out of the bottom of the throttle body. I didn't even know it was possible to put that gasket in wrong lol. Hope this helps people with similar problems.
Ok now this is starting to piss me off  Pulled the timing assembly off and all the timing marks are spot on as far as I can tell. I can tell it's firing correctly also because when I rev it up it revs smoothly and sounds like it should aside from the few pops here and there. I hooked up a...
Thanks for the reply. Good point on the CAS, as it simply sends the signal to the ecu so it would either work or not work at all. Coolant temp sensor is an idea, but I've got the car to operating temps according to the stock gauge cluster, and the fans do kick on so I know it's working. This...
Just tried disconnected the TPS to mask the Throttle position to the ECU to see if it was just the usual Random Misfires and still no go. So it has to be something with the firing order/spark. I tried routing the wiring to the 1g CAS under and about the intake manifold, same results. Perhaps...
I have this problem in my 2g currently as well. Still trying to diagnose. Please post back if this problem has been resolved and what measures you took to find out. Much appreciated.Manny
I purchased a non-running 95 2g which ran out of oil. Perfect time to do a complete 6bolt swap. Mind you I've done this swap procedure on 3 cars before without problems. But since I do not know the history of this cars past, I'm having trouble diagnosing.Problem: Rich idle condition with...
Yeah if a good amount of people had success with a rebuild without having to use gasket spray/RTV, I'm going to give it a shot. Torque everything to spec and keep my fingers crossed LOL...though I still like to use spray on the OE Headgasket with the ARPS no matter what...you can never be too sure.

Please PM me if you are having problems signing in and I will look up your email address to make sure it's valid, and force your sign ons to work.Manny~
Thanks. I wish I was rich. An Evo 1-3 project has become more affordable, I think, now that the 4G Mirage has become fairly cheap ($800-1200). You could be satisfied with a FWDish setup by using a 4G63t and GST tranny. From my understanding it drops right in. But with a car as cheap as...
Ah I see. As I said, it's a matter of opinion. YOU think it's irrelevant about what is swapped in there, just like you probably don't like Ricey Wings or girls with mullets. Whatever the VIN says doesn't really matter to ME as it is as far from an L as it will ever be. They never released...
Now THAT is halarious. And it's only halarious because it just so happens that I AM an IT admin LOL. Coincodence? maybe...but I started my car habits with a DSM 6 years ago ;).Umm I don't know about you, but I don't tell my girl what engine make, displacement, turbosize, or compression...
Awsome link :) Using JDM RA heads on a ej22t usually lead to super low compression. I went with the extra .2 displacement for a reason, so I've chosen to go with 2.5RS dohc heads, which will keep my compression ratio close to stock and as they flow better then usdm wrx heads lol. I hear you...
