Just keep in mind that there is a big difference in restoring cars, and doing a full custom build.
There is a reason you don’t see things like this finished out. It just does not financially make sense.
Your going to have to cut the firewall, parts of the floor for a trans tunnel, and cut out...
That’s def a no go without welding/resurfacing IMO. If it was solely in the combustion chamber I wouldn’t worry to much about it, but that’s never going to seal correctly as is.
The vert windshield will not have the mount for the rear view mirror because on the vert it mounts to the chassis. It will fit just fine though.
The 95 GSX windshield will fit a 97 just fine as well.
I have a spare 98/99 Flashable ECU I’ve kept as a spare. I’m moving on from DSMs, so I’m letting it go. $125 shipped! Local pick up is welcome in Knoxville TN 37920.
I have a 98 Eclipse GSX for sale.
I bought this car as a project, but decided I want to finish my Evo and build my GTR instead.
Car has NO RUST/ROT. Great start for a clean project.
98 Eclipse GSX, clean title, ready to go.
Paint has seen better days, but could probably buff pretty clean. Has...
CAR RUNS AND DRIVES, but needs a tune. Had a 60-1 on it before it spun a bearing, then the new setup went in.
I have a 98 Talon TSI AWD fully built parts car.
First, I will explain why it’s a parts car. If interested more after that then keep reading.
I purchased this car from a friend of mine...
This makes my 3rd evo. I really like them, but I like a 2g better lol.
The galant vr4 got sold around 3 years ago when I found out the house we were renting had some mold issues right before my at the time newborn was to come home from the NICU. So I had to let it go in order to put money down...
I hope to come back. I just hope that when the kids are old enough that I don't have to worry about a backseat, that the platform is still going strong.
You said in the OP that the shop was going to charge you 1000 and you wanted to save 500, so if your willing to spend 500 why not do this?http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/cts-v-brake-caliper-swap-brembo.347243/page-7#post-153605047Or buy evo brakes and brackets.
Well everyone, I've been in the game a long time, and it pains me to say this, but I'm retiring from DSMs. I love the cars and I always will. It's just having 2 children and trying to get them in out out the back of my GSX is rediculous. I wish I could afford to keep it as a side project and...
Evo Brembos will clear SOME 17x9 +35 wheels, but not all, or many for that matter. As stated above it really depends on spoke design. Your definitely not going to fit a +45 without an outrageous spacer. Your going the opposite way trying to calculate offset, you need a lower offset(+22, +20...
Only "rare" parts your gonna find are the all clear tail lights(I have a set of these) or about any EDM part(tail lights, mirrors, and fenders. But I can't think of any super rare exterior parts that were made for these cars other than what's been mentioned, or the AB widebody kit if you have...
Sounds like it's the clutch. After you take off from 1st can you kill the car and put it in 2nd gear, then restart the car and move under its own power?
But if you need a sequential shifter then why buy another dsm?
It's one of those things that when people are actually in need of it, then they pay for it.
Like a dogbox Trans for example, for the price of a dogbox you could buy a very nice dsm, but no matter how nice the dsm is, it's not a...
You could try laying a 2x4 on the the bent section and hit it back down with a hammer and see if that helps, if that doesn't work you could cut out the bent spot, flatten it out with the 2x4, then we'll in new reinforcement.I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as bad to do a part out though.
Yea I'll be over 20 lbs, but I'm not chasing after a 10 sec 1/4 either so I'm willing to sacrifice top end for better spool. I had spoke to @danielsl1999gsx about his and he said between the v1 and v2 there was a 600 rpm difference in spool between the two. That's a significant amount IMHO.
I've been through the thread, but to be honest, there's only a couple posts that help with what I'm asking. I'm not concerned about what kind of time I can run at the drag strip, or what the car will dyno. I'm worried about spoil, and literally EVERYONE who posted in that thread is quoting...
Ok, Let me make this clear from the get go, I don't want to hear about a buddies car, your cousins brother in law car, I want first hand experience here only please.I'm looking for a turbo for my build. I've had my eye on the FP 68HTA for some time now, but honestly I'm hearing that it...
You would have been far better off with the last bushing that you posted I believe. Just because it would actually fit like it was supposed to.How much have you been asking for the coilovers?
Cut the bushing in half, find a washer that's the same size and put it in the middle where it was cut and push the bushing together like that. That's gonna be the easiest way to install that bushing. However I don't think that the center section of that bushing is going to come close to filling...
Just for reference I can tell you that STS did not ever make their own turbos, so for what it's worth or how much power it will make would actually depend on the brand, size, etc, can't just say what's this STS turbo worth. Now IMHO get rid of everything and start fresh.
