yea you told me about that when I sent you that silencer and bearings, seems like everyone is going rotomaster now. variables are getting hard to find parts for.... I just think its because their one time use Imo
lol need any more custom tags?gpop has quality parts and hard to find, problem is that they know it.... 225 for one kit is a little steepjust gonna call this one resolved, majestic should suffice. thanks
new and in bulk? rayjay isn't around for their own turbo parts and holset doesn't carry the bearing spacer in their oem kit. enlighten me to a business that sells what I need.glenn you are the.man, I already deal with majestic, so the contact should be easy. one down one to go. you don't...
can't find rayjay stuff anywhere in bulk.... and I also need the hx spring style bearing spacers...for the holsets that don't use retaining rings.... thanks.
Hey glenn how were the bearings I sent you working out good? If you need any help machining your.cart, let me know I may have .10 over rings for the seal. Anything you need let me know, you do good business.
hone out .005 over and order bearings, look around for them if no one else has them shoot me a pm for custom bearings, however I perfer only to sell bearings to other turbo builders as I doubt you would need a 10 packI would also goff your bearing housing
If you have the tools it's cheap to rebuild, if not we have plenty of people on the site to rebuild them for you. Just look for a bad one that isn't locked up or have damaged fins.
Takes about 45 min. But I do it ALOT lol. leave it to DSM'ers to pick up the flaws. The same process can be done on the turbine. I happend to drop to the assembly on the way to balance, thought I would do a write up. On a side note, two other fins were busted during the tear down. however more...
So, you've torn down your turbo, what ever it may be, and you have a busted fin. No need to junk it, its fairly easy to repair. Chances are, if your re-building your own turbo, your competent enough to fix your compressor wheel.C/W = Compressor wheel.OopsSo here we are...
With the availability of turbo rebuild kits on the web, its good to see people building their own turbo's. Here's a few tips to keep your turbo running longer and a few things you tube didn't do right.First and foremost. Removing your housing, clean your clamp, and always use new locking...
The chip is fine, have the Comp wheel welded in that spot and have it ground down and blended in. Hone your Bearing housing .005 over and have .005 taken off the journals. When ordering your kit request a .005 x .005 brass bearing. Balance and assemble you still have a good useable turbo there...
We have lots of snow, and I want to try out a local rally track soon to open, add snow to that and mud also becomes an issue. Clearance is needed to reduce drag thoughout the vehicle. I'm fairly confident in the cars ability to dredge through as long as I can clear it. 2wd class dsm. I've heard...
Snow season. Need snow clearance, looking to lift quite a bit, going to be trying a local dirt/snow trail. Anyone have success in adding a few inches over stock ?
Ironically my name is also Justin, using a welder, ( if you can weld aluminum) weld in the chipped spots and then blend, using a grinder and mini lathe to re-form contour is ideal, I'll post up a how too on fin repair, if you guys would like, I would be interested on your guys method on fin...
First time I've heard someone call it a cartage outside of the professional setting, I think we all pretty much got turbo building down, as far as the importance of balancing, I've always felt it was always better to do it and not have to, rather than have to and not. I hate when they tear giant...
I think we have two different variations of the concept of a balanced turbo. I don't understand how a turbo that suffers damage on fins (loss of metal) can remain in balance. I am Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, certified, I assure you they would not give certifications to a facility with...
The ActuatorI see these get reused... and for once, we can reuse something (usually) with inspectionWhile removed before you think about doing anthing, using a regulator set to 20psi (diffrent for every turbo model) and air it up hold for 10sec. If you don't use a reg, your gonna...
They are great and alot better than the mechanical ones that are getting phased out... the good news is that the mechianical ones are becoming availible for alot cheaper....If only this thing could check facebook.
The truth of the matter is that yes it will fall out of spec, but the logic is you want it to go from perfect ballance to a "a little off" instead of "off" to "No Where near right" your friend is right though it does fall out of spec.when you bead it you must blast it with compressed air, and...
Balencing is critical. Heres hows its done.stack up your shaft how it sits in your turbo, with the new flinger and colar.*Note* There is specualtion on balancing, some say that it is factory balanced and that if you mark lines and match it up when re-assembled that it will remain in...
There is gap between the piston ring *as labeled in the kit* that rides on the turbine grove. It needs to be set in the seal and then gapped to oem. If there is no gap, it is the wrong ring. Read the tolerances it does not say 0. As for when rust is on comp side I said it was water, it was ment...
Well this site has been really good to me, so I thought I would share, the way to really rebuild a turbo. Its alot diffrent than what youtube or a tech articals have posted, and while I know the average guy can't really do most of this, if it helps one person, then I think its time well spent...
Buy a junked mitsu turbo and rebuild it. You can order compressor housings or other non moving parts besides the bearing housing, if need be, anything else needs to be mitsubishi. look on CL they can be had cheap and a rebuild kit costs about 120$ great turbo if your not afraid to get dirty.
First and foremost this is not a "how to rebuild" there are plenty detailed references on the subject, however some "practices" are incorrect.First off, before you even start your rebuild lets take a look at the kit to be used.Use only genuine Mitsubishi parts, You'll see on eBay...
welcome to the forum,Your cheapest option IMHO is to do one of a few things.pull a identical DSM from the bell housing back, and swap it out. Also a N/t 3000gt or stealth will also work by removing the bell housing from the 3s and using yours. The gear ratio's are also identical.Luckily...
Welcome back Matt, I head over to Wichita on a regular basis and as a matter of fact I just got back from there a few hours ago, start a club over there, wouldn't mind pitting the Joplin Dsm's against Wichita's Dsm's I usually stay in agusta so if your interested pm me and let me know.
Joplin here,I got a hit on another thread about a dsm meet in lexington Mo, if anyone's free, I'm down to convoy down there with our dsm's sept 18. Shoot me a Pm and let me know. Now, to find a volunteer for the tow truck to follow us... flat bed for your awd guys...
DSM if something is not breaking, your not doing it right.
On a side note... am I the only one that gets worried when that "weird" noise your car makes, stops...as of late the push start, cranks the car ok, but it will stall if I dont give it gas, after no problems. .... Why car.. Why?
I wasn't... lol I think the reason no one wants to race us, is not because were fast, they just don't to help push the car on the way back. Either way, the push start is working out great, just another step added in the start up process I guess.. Fuel pump on, turn key, pray, push button start...
Ive delt with cooling issues in 3 dsm's this month alone, if you need any help wouldn't mind spinning some wrenches if you need the help. We should meet up, espcially if you know a few people who run/ work on dsms. PM me if you want, we can set something up.
