Hi guys, i know there are a million vacuum line threads out there but i cant find an answer to this. My buddy has a 2g gsx, a 95 i believe. on the factory intake pipe to the turbo there are 2 big lines and one small line. I know where the small line and the one big line goes but the other:aha...
Clean your batery terminals realy good with sandpaper, try starting it while getting a jump from someone. If it still wont start then its not the battery. Ive had a bad battery even when they tested it and said it was fine. Does the starter make a clicking sound? If it does and it wont turn over...
It wont do 140 unless you do a good bit of work. My 2.0 only did 135 and it took awhile. Who cares about top speed anyway? If you want top speed get bigger tires:p. Do the basic mods, intake, exhaust. There isnt much out there for a 1.8
6 grand? sorry i dont know who is charging you that but your being raped. You can find a 6 bolt block for around 500 and building it yourself its only going to cost you 1500 TOPS.
It sounds like your having compressor surge. This is when your compressor wheel goes in a backspin, which is bad. You want to tighten the screw down to stiffin the spring. If that still dosnt work your bov mite be bad. Never go cheap on a bov. I sugest a 1g factory bov. They hold great up too 20...
I dont know how to tell the difference but the 5spd trannys on the NT have a higher final gear then the turbos, allowing for a faster bottom end, but less top end. So quicker 1/4 times.
if your new to the whole turbo world i wouldnt have just hurried up and bought a big turbo. the factory 14b is a good turbo and can easily handle 275-300 hp with the suporting mods. But yes like Jeff99GS said it will work with a exhaust manifold, downpipe, new oil and coolent lines and so on...
did you replace your B/S belt? if not and the timing mark on the B/S lines up you should be ok. The reason why i was 180 out is because my buddys timing belt jumped and everything was off. We took the head off, put the crank timing mark on TDC, pistion number 1 and 4 were up so we put it back...
The gear ratios are different from the crank and the balance shaft. What i suggest doing is puting it TDC. Make sure the balance shaft mark is lined up. Next, on the back of the block there is a bolt that is right in line with the oil pump shaft. Take that bolt off, put a screwdriver in the...
ill buy that 14b off your hands if your interested. pm mebut do a compression test to make sure. It does sound like a headgasketAn oem headgasket would do the trick unless you plan on running alot of boost. Alot of guys on here are running them at 15 psi all day long with arp head studs.
I dont know if anybody has done this because its a big engine, its going to take up alot of room. I dont see it fitting. Measure the width side to side, front to back, and the height. See what goes from there. If it could be done that would be one sick car.
you could probly make it home but thats it, check your oil level before you leave. It sounds like the seals went out in your turbo. Did it run ok? because if its not your turbo it could be a bad head gasket.
Looks fine, all you really need from the looks of it is a hood. I would take off your bumper and double check everything. Make sure nothing is bent. Then get it alligned.
ok thanks guys, i dont plan on going with aftermarket anything except my exhaust, FMIC, and a bov. Do i still need a SAFC? or will i be ok with just the ecu?
hey guys, im planing on goin turbo this summer. I want to get peoples opinion. Turbo ECU or an SAFC? What is the cheapest and whats the easiest? I know if i use a turbo ecu i have to do sum wiring, and a few sensors. But if i use a safc i shouldnt have to right?
Hey guys, i have searched but could not find an answer. I own a 1g and i know how to time it without a problem. This past weekend i helped a friend rebuild his head and the CAS is different than mine. I simply do not know how to set the timeing with it. Help?
The gasket thickness isnt going to have any affect on the length of the studs, and also you will loose a little compression but not enought to really notice
Put them in a cup of oil and pump them up. If they do not get hard they are junk and you need new ones. When puting in new or old lifters you must bleed them out. If you do not know how to do that, search it and youll find it.As far as the valve guides you should be ok, but i would take the...
well the t35 has an internal wastegate so if you want to keep your external youl need to find anotherwoops my fualt, i ment to say t25 the whole time but ive been saying t35
Yeah your turbo is shot. The seals are leaking under boost. My buddy had the same problem with his gsx. As far as the rebuild kit i think you might be screwed. Try to find the same turbo on ebay and see if the seller has a kit for it.
Well if your low on money i dont sugest doing a 6 bolt swap. Find a 7 bolt. I know the 6 bolt is going to have some different sensors and may require moding your harness or having to get one for the 6 bolt
I would say the average price for a good condition gst, gsx, or tsi is around 3,000 depending on the year and milage. Once you have a turbo car you can do the basic upgrades to get more power. Exhaust, intake, and so on
I would just start by opening your hood and taking plugs apart and spraying them with PB Blaster or any other kind of electrical oil/grease. It sounds like you just have a loose wire and when its wet, it makes a better connection.
What ever man do what you want. its your money. Im just saying crank walk is rare on 7 bolts and never happens on 6 bolts. And the chance of jumping a timing belt is slim. As long as you replace it every 60,000 miles youll be fine.
well crankwalk only typ. happens on turbo 7 bolts, and jumping the belt happens just about as often as another other car with a timing belt. I can tell you dont like dsm's so stick with your honda. There are better cars than dsms but we like our cars so dont put us down, im not puting you down...
I had the same problem with mine. The reason why you couldnt find a bearing is because it spun. Meaning it wraped up top with the other half of the bearing. so it looks like (( instead of ( ). Lets just say i didnt know that happend and it shot a rod out of the back side of the block . Dont...
I know alota guys run boosted 420a's without problems. As far as the spark plugs... save your money. Even if they do give you a better burn, your not going to notice any horsepower difference.
ok sounds good. Ill give that a try when i go home this weekend. Im goin to college so thats why i want to get this fixed. I cant be drivin around and then not bein able to start it. Thanks
Yeah i checked my battery charge and its fine, its charging at 14 volts and dosnt loose charge. I checked all of my wireing and its ok. The only thing i havnt looked at is the ecu. How much of a pain in the @$$ is it to pull?
Everything seems too look good as far as mods, should run good. The only i am not a fan off is the 6 puck clutch, they grab good but they dont last long.
Since this post, it did the same thing to me 3 times. I tried starting it with just getting a jump from a friends truck and no luck. Once i pulled the positve terminal off of the battery, waited a few min, then put it back on and it fired up.
Just by looking at how much road dirt and oil is all over your belt cover, im guessing its been on there for quite a while... Do yourself a favor, buy a repair manual, and new belts and go to town :thumb: I changed mine the by going step by step in the repair manual and had no problems.
