Yea maybe you're right. Guess I'll just stick with getting them to fit behind the panels. Not really a big deal to me, and easier than doing custom work..

No one said that! But it's cool. I found a place to get replacement (not necessarily red) clips and yes they do go into the door. Napa gave me some type of plastic clip but the initial ones I received are a bit too small. Didn't try going back for different ones just yet.

I am going to be attempting to do a similar procedure with my setup. I understand the whole concept about using the main deck auxiliary inputs to connect the DVD player, however, where does the power source come into play for the DVD player? Isn't the power cable held within the wiring harness...
