The slave just has an o-ring seal inside with a piston and that's it. If the slave is bad, it will leak. If it's not leaking, it's not bad.The master is the only part which could have an internal leak.

If you have a puncture, then you would lose fluid. Air can't get into the system unless you are losing fluid somewhere. Is the fluid level in the reservoir low or need to be filled? If you are not losing fluid, then you don't have a leak unless it is an internal seal leak inside the master...

Yes 90-91 have a different center diff lower housing, intermediate shaft and 3-4 floating gear helix angle. So a 90-91 center diff can't be used in a 92-99 trans without major surgery.

Was the fluid level low? The system should not have to be bled like that for no reason. Something is not right.

The assembly bleeds itself. The only time you need to bleed it is when the master or slave are replaced. If the fluid level is good and there are no leaks bleeding will do nothing. You likely have a broken clutch.

Make sure the tooth count of the ring gear matches your car and original gear. It should be 58 teeth on the ring gear. The 97+ units had 57 and that's enough to ruin many parts in the center diff. If your donor trans is a1 g then swapping the gears as a set should solve all of the problems. To...
