Last coupe pictures I took of the GSX and my V from delivering her. The GSX was a champ to the end and I got one last fun 200 mile cruise out of her to deliver to the buyer.
Well, as of Jan 4th 2018. I no longer own this GSX. It has gone on to it's new home and happy owner. Lots of memories were made and I'm looking forward to modifying my CTS-V.
So a crazy thing happened today, I bought a 2011 CTS-V Sedan. So after 12 years of loving and working on my GSX it is time for us to part ways. I'm about to make the for sale post. I'm pretty sad about it but I do love the extra space and awesomeness that comes with the V.
I have a synapse engineering BOV on a 1G flange running 35psi. It can be recirculated no problem. I have been running the same one for almost 10 years with no problem.
I autocross with a 7-blade HX-35 in the .55A/R DSM housing on a 2.0l. It is fun but far to laggy to be competitive. I don't get full boost until 4200 RPM it does have 12psi at 3200 RPM but doesn't come alive and get over 30psi until 4000 RPM. I ran this same turbo on a 2.3l previously and it hit...
My guess would be that since we didn't get an evo until the 8 in the U.S. they are commonly only listed as 8-9 because 5, 6, and 7 are very rare here and not likely to be found.
I mostly do autocross events, with a few track days here and there. I had no issues while running the stock oil pan but like most people on here that have a 6-bolt I put on the Moroso pan as a precaution. Of course I would love a dry sump system but I have trouble bringing myself to spend $5k+...
I took a look at the service manual to see if there were any checks that can be done on the fan and there really isn't anything more than apply battery voltage and ensure that the fan spins. This could be beneficial to turn on the fan with the engine off to see if the fan motor is making any...
Sounds like the voltage regulator built into the alternator is faulty. I have a gallant alt from advance auto that behaved the same way. To much voltage is dangerous for your ecu and other electronics
Sounds like the passenger side fan isn't flowing air like it should. The AC on should make the problem worse as it adds more heat in front of the radiator. But the drivers side fan kicking on with the AC must be what is helping you out.
That sucks man, I hate getting a fully functioning car on and off a trailer, let alone one with damaged suspension. At least that old intercooler should make some cool garage wall art.I have the Moroso pan and I'm kicking myself that I didn't log oil pressure on a set course before and...
If you run another stock one be sure to use the bracket that sits underneath it and bolts to the block. Without the support of that bracket the OEM intake manifold is prone to cracking.
Off the top of my head I don't but it may have been a while. I ordered it while I was out of the country on deployment so I only cared that it was there when I got back.Have you tried calling in the mid-afternoon west coast time? That is when I have the best luck getting them on the phone.
I have never pushed that hard on 91 but here is a dyno graph from my 2.3l, 8.5:1, FP4R cams, .55A/R bolt on HX-35, e85.
I think kelford 272s are a solid cam choice and while the holset works an FP Red or PTE 5558 might be better choices to see the power you want on pump gas.
I'm with 19gsx91 on this, do you have a log of Engine Load % at the same time. Something made your timing jump 9 degrees very quickly. from those table it looks like at 5031 RPM your ecu thought it was at about 250% load and then by 5656 RPM the load had suddenly dropped to 180%.I'm not...
Thanks for the input. I have some older JIC FLT-A2 coil overs on the car. They are one way adjustable so I think my next step will be to play with the shocks available one way adjustment. Then look at running a higher spring rate in the front if that doesn't do it.
Many moons ago I ran Eibach Pro Kit with the Tokiko Illumina shocks http://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=17534&cat=632&page=1I found that setup to be comfortable on my 2G but I did not have stock suspension to compare to. When I bought my car it was on cut factory coils and...
I think what he meant was start a thread about it in the tuning and engine management section. You will get more visibility from people who really help with tuning there.Short answer, you do it on the fuel tab that you posted a picture of. Where it says global fuel percentage. You may find...
This was my first time running the Potenza RE-71R tires and man did they really improve grip in the corners over my Hankook Ventus all seasons (duh). But an unintended side effect is it showed a suspension tuning opportunity. I'm going to need to figure out what I can do to keep that inside rear...
Here is the video of my fastest clean run in autocross. And here is a cell phone video of my fastest 1/4 mile.

I'm sorry to hear about your back.Scott Laird is from Panama City, I usually contact him on facebook. I'm not sure if he is on here. His profile picture on facebook is a FL plate that says EATS V8S.
I didn't take to close a look at his car but it was a 1G that he autocrosses a lot with a bastard 20g in it. He drove the hell out of it. Fastest time on that autocross was a 33.4 from a Focus RS so that 34.5 he turned in was a smoking time. And his car was super consistent in the 1/4 he just...
I had a lightening quick, super packed, shootout weekend that ended to soon. I was fighting a bad MAP sensor on Thursday and just changing fluids and getting the car ready to go. We didn't leave Jacksonville until just after midnight and then drove 14 hours straight to Summit Motorsports...
It took 14 hours to drive here, we did it in one shot. I was real ready to be out of my car for the last hour. Also I got third out of five in max effort DSM. With a 37.673 on the autocross course and a 12.273 in the 1/4. I'm really happy with my cars performance.
I think the only difference on a GS would be the front subframe. To my knowledge the trunk pans are the same in all 2Gs. The AWD ones have different rear subframes and gas tanks but the sheet metal is the same.
Have you driven the car yet? The transmission is lubricated by the front differential gear teeth bringing the gear oil to the top of the transmission where it then runs down drip rails to the gears. Without the wheels spinning you are not getting proper lubrication to the transmission.With...
I think it is likely that the offset is from decking the head or block. But I have also noticed with my car that the cam marks look off when looking down into the engine bay. Use a straight edge lined up from Cam bolt to cam bolt to verify that they are off. Sometimes it just appears they are...
Yes, you can. You need to wire the CAS to both the crank and cam sensor portions of the engine harness.

$400 seems like a good price for a guaranteed fit. Especially since the bolt in autopower 4-point roll bar for a 2G is at around $540

Did an interesting autocross event tonight, three runs in daylight followed by three runs in the dark. It is surprisingly hard to see cones with only your headlights and it really limits how far down course you can look. Both videos are the same course, the night one makes it hard to see...
Gave my headlights a little love yesterday and today. I used the 3M Headlight Lens Restoration System 39008 and Meguires Keep Clear Headlight Coating. I think they came out pretty good and it wasn't to tough to do. My passenger one has a spiderweb of cracks top center that were to deep to sand...
