Those look like GABs made by KYB. The spring hat was cut off an replaced with coilover sleve. I've done exactly the same with KYB AGX for my rally car. From what i know higher and better dumping rates than AGX for rally. Sleve and perch look loke the ones i got at TAD from Barrington IL 10yrs ago :)
Here are the reasons why I need to re-shell my car..-reason #1

I moved the fulcrum and MC by 5/8" so it's not rock hard but it requires some effort. I'm running race pads so i need to put some heat into the system to make it really work.
Good advise.. Don't do it LOL.
Yeah, read the rules as there are different regulations. Rally-America won't let you run AWD-Turbo without previous professional experience. They might let you convert it to AWD-NA for few rallies before you get the regular competition license.
If you plan to run...
You might resolved it already but are you sure your balance shafts are in phase with the rest. Remember that having it on mark doesn't mean it's set right.
Im a rally racer :). I would hope for some more people replying but I just found this thread myself. My biggest accomplishment so far:

Probably easier and least expensive would be to buy a rally ready car. Unless you got skills, time, tools and motivation to do most of the work yourself I wouldn't build it. These are minimum prices, so it doesn't mean it's the best option:

Not exactly. There is still an increase in pedal effort but that's overcome by the consistency and modulation characteristics. I would say about 15% more but it's a combination of tires, pads, MC, surface, etc. I mainly use it on loose surfaces with ferrodo ds3000 pads and works for me. The...
Modulation, consistency and feeling that dont change with boost\vacum changes. Maybe not that important in road racing but in rally when using left foot braking is priceless. I got it on my rally car and I love it. You need to change the location of the hole that master cylinder pushrod...
First go to SpeciaStage.com and Rally-america.com forums where you'll find answers to most of your questions, if not just ask. Second as a rookie they wont let you to run AWD or turbocharged car. You'll have to start with a N/A FWD unless you got some prior racing experience. They should be ok...
I reuploaded vids with streetfire.net as they got better quality. Besides the old ones I added:LSPR 05 Brokway jump from outside:

I'm planing to run 100AW and by that time I need to get something decent. At LSPR there were too many "ohh shit" moments caused just by the suspension not being able to take the bumps.
As far as my rally seat time that 2005 LSPR was my third rally ever, second with the pace notes. I wish I...
Until last Ojibwe I was running modified KYB AGX and 325/225 lbs Eibach springs. It's the least expensive alternative but that's the only advantage(unless you have to replace them every event). I bent both front struts after big jump on Brockway. Another one after hitting stone at Ojibwe. Not...

That's the plan if the car is fixed. I'm looking for the parts already. The roof is the only pain as I need someone that would let me to cut it off. I don't have a room to bring the whole shell home.
It wasnt too fortunate for me as I rolled (pic) on the 5th stage being 2nd overall in the regional with a chance for 1st. Car wasnt that badly damaged but was on the roof 12 feet below the road and we had to wait for a bigger tow truck till next day to pull it out. Very disappointed as there...
Got any more of those?
I should be back for LSPR this year, and I'm doing Ojibwe for sure."Straights are for fast cars, turns are for fast drivers. - Colin McRae"
Any advantages of having a welded center diff at the road course? Is any of the shift light users experience a short, random flashes at idle or when the rpms drop? (Moroso w/ adjustable knob) Can this be a sign of some fault in the ignition system?thanks
