Update: The fan is running, I think the problem was a loose wire. In my RS, where the radiator cap is, there are two wires connected underneath it and one was loose. Could this have caused my problem? It was a little black wire and it just clips onto a piece of protruding metal which I'm...
Does anyone have a picture of how the support bar that goes under the tranny connects to the back of the bay? I'm looking at the manual I have and the parts don't line up how the diagram is telling me they should. The bar and the Y/Triangle piece don't fit together how I think they should. Any...
My only question would be: under the heading Fitment, it says it fits 95-99 GST and GSX.
I could be wrong, but aren't they two different exhaust designs?
Otherwise, good deal.
If I let my car idle for a couple minutes, the fan should turn on, correct?
I'm having cooling issues and I want to knock out the simple checks first. I assume the answer is yes, but I don't want to run it and have it not turn on and automatically think that's the problem.
Thanks
Or you could get a different radio if you want to spend the money. I have an in-dash dvd player radio and it has a "media box" that plugs into it. I can plug my ipod into the media box and it charges while I can control it from the screen.
I forgot to mention: if you just got the car you want to take the time to do all the maintenance first, this way when you upgrade it you lessen the chance of ruining something that could have been prevented.
This should help a little, it lists the size of the nuts and the length the stud sticks out from the head.ColumbusDSM - 2G Turbo FWD Bolt & Fastener Wizard
A quick search yielded this. It looks pretty detailed:

Ohio's definition of a license plate:
Lawriter - ORC - 4503.22 Specifications for license plates.
I would say if it doesn't include all of that, they would be free to ticket you for not having a license plate as it wouldn't be within the definition.
You say no bent valves so I assume you took the head off. Make sure all the sensors are connect like was said above. Our cars have a ton of connections.
This may sound dumb, but check to make sure you didn't bump any lines or wires when you installed the intercooler.
Sometimes you get lucky and it's the simple things.
If you've already been pulled over twice for your front plate, do you really want to take the risk of getting pulled over again?
I'd say leave it on the bumper, but off to the side like the pic. As far as legality, I would agree that it's most likely considered government property and thus...
I would check the bolt. If it's supposed to be wider and tapers down to a smaller thread size, then putting a thinner bolt in would give the starter room to wiggle.
Everything else looks normal to me, since my tranny is out too, but I'm not sure what the bolts are supposed to be so I would...
To throw in an alternate point of view: if your son likes the Lancer, don't be afraid to look into them. They did come in turbo versions and much of the information here for Eclipses and Talons works for Lancers as well since certain models share parts. I'm not sure about the years you...
I've seen a link to a website on here that lists the sizes of all the bolts in the engine/bay area. Does anyone have it handy? I can't seem to find it anymore.
Or, more specifically, if anyone knows the sizes for the bolts in the motor and trans mounts that would help me out a ton.
Thanks!
I realize you didn't ask this, but your mod list says you're running a 255 but you don't mention an AFPR. If you don't have one you will want to look into that.
Is there a guide somewhere that shows the sizes for nuts and bolts on our engines?
As I go along I find there are random ones missing and I don't know where to look up the sizes to get new ones. I'd rather go to Home Depot or something than have to order from a dealership.
Thanks.
I can't find the post right now, but if you want to do it here's how.For the plastic pieces: you're going to have to paint them since you can't dye plastic.First clean it real good to get all the dirt and grime off
Then rough it up (sandpaper or scotchbrite pad)
Then clean again to get all...
This is the 2g bracket if I'm thinking of the right one:and you see the 4 holes above the alternator? it goes there, it fits snugly behind the water pipe
Not to argue, but it's actually not opinion. I will search to see if I can find the data to back it up, but the 6-bolt block is stronger than the 7-bolt. It can handle more horsepower. There is a wiseman (whose name I currently forget) who usually chimes in at this point in the conversation...
If you already have the water pipe on, you can't fit the power steering pump bracket behind it. You have to put the bracket on before the pipe. Unless you've already tried this, then just ignore this haha.
That's almost exactly what I need, except I consider that the side of the block (my naming could be off). Can I get the side that is to the left of that, the side with the exhaust manifold on?
But the ones you posted help a ton, thanks!
If you're bored, you can do the back too haha. The...
I wasn't sure if I should post here or in photography so please move it if it's wrong.
Can I get a picture of the front of an assembled 4g63 block, the right hand side (preferably from different angles)? I just want to double check as I'm putting mine together and I can't find any detailed...
If, theoretically, it did work (which it doesn't), as soon as prices went down a penny, people would flock to those stations, thus driving the price back up.
The key is to use less gas altogether.
No, my car came with an empty engine bay and two engines in pieces, so it's getting put back together as I figure out what is good, what needs replaced, and what goes where. It's just a little tough for me since the pictures in my manual aren't great and i looked through 60 pages of engine...
If you read my other posts you know that my car came in pieces, and since it's my first turbo car I'm not sure where everything goes, so this is the point where I look stupid and ask for help.
Here are pictures of my block and the parts that I'm not sure where they go. Some of these parts...
You can use them.
Some people feel .060 is too much and there isn't enough "meat" left in the block to keep it strong. They worry about the block getting damaged. Whether this is true or not I can't say as I have not done it, but if the parts are for sale then some has done it. Hopefully...
Also, if you don't mind working nights, look at third shift jobs. There is a better chance of getting one since no one wants to work them and there is usually a pay differential for the same reason.
