Definitely check for a leak, and if that fails I'd do a boost leak test. You can find boost leak testers for cheap online and they're easy to make yourself if you're a DYI kinda person. Good luck!
Donnie, that's not true. I had the money for you Thursday... that's a day before Friday so you know. I just didn't have it until later that day. You knew that before you left my house that Thursday. Paying you was said to be done via cash rather than paypal because you preferred to work with...
I'm not sure how to change the settings on the distributor gear, but this link has TONS and TONS of information as well as mitsubishi shop manuals on almost all of the 4G engines and even some others. Hope you can find an answer in one of them.Index of /mirage
Donnie, you and I both know that isn't the case. I paid you $670 of the overall $850 I owed you in installments as you ASKED for the cash. The day you came over to replace a coolant hose I explained that I didn't get paid till later that day when the cash hit my bank account. You mentioned...
There's a long story behind the recent rebuild that Ive done and I feel I have given adequate time to Donnie to step up and handle the problems that have arose from the rebuild. Im posting this information to help others locally become aware of the issues Ive seen during the rebuild, as well...
UPDATE - I've found the issue was the oil filter housing sensor wire that was loose and got stuck on the chassis grounding it out, and the overheating was due to a very small pinhole sized leak in a hose that eventually got big enough to locate when squeezing the hose... Issues are fixed...
Alright, so I got a light and took a look under the hood a little closer and saw what I think is the problem. Here are some pictures.. Does anyone have a part number on this by chance? I'm going to run to NAPA tomorrow and see what they run.I'm just hoping that the sensor blowing didn't...
Alright, so I'm a bit baffled as to whether this is just a few easy fixes that need to be done or if there's a link between them and there being a bigger problem at hand..The car started overheating earlier today on the way home when I wasn't maintaining speed above 30mph~. The temperature...
One thing to find out if you can before you place the order is the transmission VIN.. and if it has one. I have a JDM Trans for my 1G, however mine does NOT have a VIN on it. If you can locate the VIN you _should_ be able to determine what kind of gears, synchros, etc. it has internally...
As previously stated, the 2g head is going to gain you some torque and the top end is just as good as the 1g head. There are a handful of threads that have much more detailed information supporting why this is true. Personally, I would run the 2g head. If you're looking to get more out of the...
Good luck! It definitely looks like a blast. I can't wait till my car is back up and running so I can get on the track :) Have you taken any driving classes?
Just as a heads up... make sure you have a security system and maybe even a killswitch. 1G's aren't as commonly spotted out for car thieves but when you smoke that civic that lives in the dorm across the road he knows something more than stock is under the hood. ;)
Just picked up the XTD stage 4 clutch disk (not the sprung one that is shown for sale on ebay), for my car and should be installing it in the coming week. I'll keep you posted on how it works out, but good luck with yours should you get one ;)
Seems like a good deal, but unfortunately unless you are there while he does the leak down or have a second professional opinion (assuming you aren't familiar with mechanics), there's no way to be sure if you're picking up a bigger project than what you're expecting... either way, best of luck!
Alright guys, ordered most the parts and picked up a few unexpected onesGot a Dejon 3" intake, Dejon 3" Turbo Back Exhaust, some new tires, 3" GM-MAF w/ MAFT, and a few other misc items on the way.Engine tear down should occur Monday, May 3rd! Stay tuned.
Good morning everyone,I was fortunate enough to find a stock 92.5 (7/4) setup bone stock a year and a half ago with 152,000mi. One thing I had quickly discovered was that the engine was swapped with another 1G 7-bolt, but it was out of an Automatic DSM. The turbo was swapped as well, so I've...
Hey everyone, I'm unfortunately in a rough spot right now when it comes to money to have found out that I'm going to need to at the least reseal my engine it seems. I'm looking for someone who is interesting in helping me not just work on the car, but also teach me what I'm doing. I want to be...
Lets keep focus on helping him out. I think your goals for the 35R are easily achievable, as that turbo as you know is a work horse and can pump out a lot more. Personally, we all may have a different way to get a "350-400" HP goal, but this is what he has to work with so lets keep it on...
Well, I'm having the same issue myself, however I have a Pioneer which supposedly are known for this and having a "Pico Fuse" blow out which eliminates the RCA ground. Do you have any stock speakers that run straight from the head unit?If so, try removing the RCA's from the back of the...
I've had a similar issue myself but on a lancer. One thing I would do is double check your grounds and make sure they are in fact grounds. This will help in more ways than one. Are you running a rewired fuel pump which connects to the amp wiring?
I took it to the shop yesterday and they said that with a 5mm spacer it would be really tight, and may need the control arm grinded slightly even with the coilovers installed. I may go with a 10mm spacer, I believe it's through Eibach as I'd rather not grind the control arm and the shop said...
Sounds like we have the same setup. I will be running 225's as well. I've heard great things on the dunlop direzza z1 star spec's and they're 130 or something I believe on tire rack. I'm going to the tuning shop to get an opinion on what size spacer I need to run. Although you answered your own...
You probably already know this, but you're going to spend almost all your money on an engine build if you're going for a ready-to-drop-in motor from a vendor. If I were you I'd post in your regional forum and see if anyone is willing to lend you a hand, and that way you not only get it together...
I second that. I owned a new 05 lancer ralli-art and kicked myself in the ass due to the car payment. After it was all said and done, car insurance where I live costed me more than the car payment and I had a clean record.. Just make sure you're willing to spend $600+ a month if you get a...
I recently had a similar issue, but I found out the Oil Filter needed to be tightened a little bit. That's the only advice I can give based upon my experience :}
Supremely Bad @$$ setup my friend. I am glad to see you are sticking it out with the S16G. It's a helluva a turbo. Nice find on the bov jusmx, thanks for the linkage ;] - :dsm: Ryan
Here's to hoping the GSX isn't completely dead... it would answer the question of what car we can move to next if the current DSM scene does die :D :hellyeah::hellyeah::hellyeah:Mitsubishi Eclipse Ralli-art
Brandon, I'm in the same boat as you are. A week ago I started hearing the same symptoms that others have described and took it to my local shop which told me my tranny is going bad, and the TCase is leaking. I'm going to start calling the dealer now and doing what I can. I've contacted...
From the research I had done, the sportback was only available for awhile in the Ralli-art version, but with this info perhaps I'm wrong. I'm sorry, but that thing is hideous. Evo or not, it looks way to retro wagon! :barf:
I saw another thread a year or so ago recommending Jans on Smith Rd which is nearby where I work, but want to see if anyone else has a more recent experience on local shops for Paint & Body work, and Window Tinting. If you know a shop that does good quality work in any three of these areas...
I'm looking forward to starting my 1st DSM Build. :D I will definitely be starting the build thread within the coming weeks. The suspension parts will be arriving soon. :thumb:
Rob, while I agree it's unnecessary to further make an example of you and the decision you made try to look at it from Defiant's perspective. He's an emergency dispatcher and I'm sure he hears about similar situations and circumstances a god awful amount. With that said, his perspective is the...
I <3 Pooch :D Actually, on a serious note.. Even though the cards lost, they played like a team that deserved to be in the Super Bowl, and it's one of the best super bowls I've watched in my lifetime. Take that with a pinch of salt, because I've been born and raised half my life in AZ, and...
As stated, you want to stick with the 2.5" down pipe to 2.5" cat-back. If your goals are to hit 400+ hp I would definitely just change over to a full 3" exhaust, or at least a 3" catback with 2.5" dp as it will lower your chances of dangerous back pressure. In case your wondering why, the...
You shouldn't have any problems with the A+. The passing score is fairly low, so as long as you study a little bit, and are confident about what you do know, you'll most likely pass. I took the test after only studying the hardware section and passed both HW and SW core exams. I know they...
Thanks for all the info Tim. I definitely agree getting the smallest spacers available is the best option, with using none being the best. To any one looking for the link, check here : Supercar Engineering Wheel SpacersI'm interested in hearing more feedback. Thank you all! - :dsm: Ryan
