I recently purchase a vr4 galant transmission. I looked up the number on the transmission it is w5m332nqbm lc4391 but the vin is this ja3cx56u2mz010335, What i have read is that it is a 5/92 or newer transmission from the transmission code but the vin says it is a 91. I am a little confused...
I am in the same boat, I have been dealing with Lumpyvr4 to get 3/4 hub slider made by par. As of right now I have an evo 3 input shaft, 1st,3rd,4th and 5th gear. for my trans rebuild. The services are pretty cheap to have done to those parts treated. I will be sending all my stuff there when I...

The compression is the car is fine(one of the first things I checked). I checked every sensor . I check the ecu with a analog voltmeter and buzzer. The car ran great for 6-7 hrs in my garage. Now it just starts for 5-20 seconds and dies and doesn't start back up. If you leave the car sit for a...
I tried another ecu in my car and still does the same thing. I took my ecu and double checked everything btw the capacitors where replaced a few years ago. Is there anything else that I can check or should I send my ecu out to get capacitors replaced again?
Updated
After letting the car sit for a few days. It started up fine and died again. I tried staring it up again started then died again. Then the motor just turned over. I was told it might be the isc stuck open at 100% just dumping fuel in my motor. Also I was told it might be my fpr went...
After starting the fuel pump I pulled out the spark plugs the cylinders smell like gas. I double checked the spark, fuel and compression. The car will start then die after that is just turns over and doesn't start. I put a voltmeter on the ecu and put a buzzer to count the sounds. The ecu seems...
I pulled the ecu out already. I will take it out again and double check. I just had it rebuilt a couple of years ago. I have 2 other computer that need to be sent out they look like your pictures you posted. I don't have an fpr I just bought one waiting for it to come in the mail. I know my car...
I used a voltmeter to check all the sensors in my car. The compression is good and so is the fuel pressure. I haven't changed changed the tune for the car. The car sat for a while cleaned the gas tank and has fresh fuel, changed the plugs and the ecu doesn't have any codes. I have double checked...
Update on the car. I guess I am making a little progess. The car ran for about 30 seconds the other day. I changed the oil b/c there was some gas in the oil. I cleaned the fuel injectors. I have checked and re-checked everything. I checked the ecu out it seems to be fine. I am at an end point...
Well the car started up and died again. This time ran for 10 seconds hit the gas it died. So I tried starting the car again this time I has spark test hooked up I confirmed getting spark and I took the spark plugs out. I have gas sitting on top of my pistons. I checked out all the sensors...
To start off I am running ngk bpr6es. When the car runs it runs alright. It is hard to tell b/c the car doesn't stay running long enough. Also when it ran in my garage it ran great. I have checked all the grounds. I am getting good power to the fuel pump. I am getting the power to the fuel...
yeah the timing marks are correct and the firing order is 4-1-2-3, I also checked out the fuel pump. I am going to start checking all the grounds on my car.
i will check in it in the morning thanksi did the fuel pump test with the connector next to the firewall runs great, i believe it is not fuel related alot of fuel on my pistons when i checked the cas
To start off car ran for 6hrs fine in my garage. I went out to start it getting no spark then I changed out everything(cas, coil, ptu) getting spark, fuel and compression. Car will start and run ?for 5-10 seconds and dies. Then try to start the car again and just turns over. I have checked the...
Update. After a few months the car is still sitting in a garage. I ran it for a while, drove it around for a little while and still no change in. After talking to a few people I think I am going to pull the motor and start again. I was told it might be the rings(oil ring) and thats why I am...
The short block has around 300 miles on it, The head has 5 miles if that. The car has been running in my driveway for a little while. Also update the smoke has died down some after I took it for a drive.
Yeah had everything in the head changed out. Put all new supertech valves, guides, springs and guide seals. I have been letting the car run more doesn't smoke as bad but still smokes. I think the new turbo cut down on some of the oil going into the exhaust.
Well the head was rebuilt and the motor was just rebuilt and the surfaces where both decked also I replaced the 4 layer metal hg with a composite. The head has all new parts and so do the bottom end.
Well new update on the car. I replace the ofh and lowered the oil pressure. Seemed to help out a little car still has a little oil coming from the exhaust ports. The smoking went down quit a bit but still smoking. I have been running the car for a while it still hasn't improved much but not...
Well car updated didn't get a chance to start the car yet hopefully doing it this weekend. If this dones work any other suggestion on what could be the problem? One more question if the motor sat for a while without running do the rings need to be reseated even though there is 300 miles or so on...
That was checked at the oil filter housing, so I think that is helping push oil pass the rings also the rings really never set fully. I reconnected the line on the vc to the air intake also cleaned out the pcv. So I am going to put that on this weekend and let the car run for a while to see what...
Well an update on my car did an oil pressure test. I am see 115 pso on start up. I am going to prt my ofh and relocate the turbo line as I was told. Then I am going to run the car for a while.
I called precision yesterday b/c I just bought a pte-5857 turbo non bb. I was told that you have to feed the turbo from the ofh not the stock head location b/c of the oil pressure. I have been looking for the oil feed kit my self. I looked at sbr, stm, and few others. I really can't seem to find...
Does anyone else have an Idea what this could be I have talked to a few different people and they are stumped. What I don't understand car never smoked after rebuild and all of sudden the turbos dies and I am have all these issues.
No I haven't but when the motor was fisrt built it never smoked.I was thinking of something with oil pressure.Like I said it never smoked until the turbo died on me then thats when all of this started.
It has been few months of no progess. I bought a brand new turbo from precision turbos. I figured this would fix my problem no it still has oil coming out of the exhaust ports. I can't thinks of anything else. Does any one know how many exhaust studs are in oil or water in the head. I thoguht...
Now a few days later nothing. The place I bought it from says it is out of warranty. So now I am looking to buy a turbo. I really don't know what direction I want to go in. I want about 350-500 whp. I think I am going with a different turbo this time. I may end of getting a greddy or garrett...
Well I took the turbo apart yesterday and there was oil under tha cap of the exhaust wheel was full of oil and there wasn't that much in the center catridge. Well I started the car without the turbo on the car and it didn't smoke after I cleaned the exhaust ports. There was more oil on the top...
Well started the car this past weekend and still does the same thing. So I took off the the o2 housing and noticed the back of the turbo was cover in oil. So I think the turbo is no good. I took off the turbo and took it apart and noticed that there was oil all inside of exhaust housing so I...
Well been really bust at worked. I did get the head back and timing belt. I have to finish putting the rest of the stuff back on the car. Will let everyone know when I start the car again should be in a few days or so. Well started the car this past weekend and still does the same thing. So I...
Finally pulled the head. I noticed that there was oil on top on the block and bottom of the head gasket. no coolant (none in car). The head gasket was stuck to the bottom of the head b/c of the copper spray. So I am taking that the headgasket didn't seal Correct.
