I have a similar problem with my 2g awd, turned out to be a bad front driver side inner cv joint. It started out as violent shaking around 60+ mph and as the problem got worse ,the mph it would shake at got lower and lower.
I'm going to say its either your brakes have locked up or your tcase has siezed. To test the brakes, jack up the whole car, put it in neutral, no ebrake, grab each tire and spin by hand, they should spin fairly easy, Even with the tcase siezed the tires should spin an inch or two. If the...
You're not going to be leaking oil through the intake manifold, since those are only air passages, unless you have a cracked head. Most likely it's from the valve cover, a picture would help us diagnose it better.
Your goal of 400-500 whp is doable on the 2.0, no need to stroke , albeit a little harder but doable. A good selection of quality parts coupled with a good tuning tool, like ecmlink and a knowledgeable tuner should get you to your goals. Just a tidbit of fyi, the term 4-bolt is normally referred...
The bushings in your shifter cables( whether on the shifter side or transmission side) are not affected by engine speed, sounds more like worn out synchro rings or a maladjusted clutch.
Most shops are unaware that mitsu came out with obd2 in their 95 model year cars, I've gotten the same response and have corrected them, they didn't believe me until I show them the factory sticker under my hood that says OBDII.
I doubt you are running rich with stock injectors(are you sure they are stock?). Have you done a boost leak test ? Make sure your afpr is set correctly also.
twicks, can you explain this ?*Machined and installed my new design shouldered dowels to fit into the cylinder head to prevent the head stud washer from crushing the cylinder head under my kind of boost levels.
Unplugging the fuel pressure solenoid will throw a check engine light on 2gs,just disconnect the vacuum hoses and plug them in to your new fpr, but leave the solenoid plugged in.
i agree with the other posts about having some bass, even with out any kind of sub, if you have no bass at all, i'm willing to bet you have the polarities reversed when you worked on your speakers, double check your wiring.
No the ticking does not effect your oil pressure. You can buy some revised lifters from any of the vendors on this site,I like jnz tuning my self. Sorry i do not have a diagram of the grounding points, the main ones are from the alternator, the negative battery terminal and the negative battery...
The advice on your flickering issue is good, i will emphasize double checking your grounding cables and contacts. The ticking you are getting is most likely your lifters, you can upgrade to the 3g lifters (third generation of revised lifters not from a 3g eclipse mind you).
A good way to tell if its your synchros is if its grinding while shifting,if there are no other issues other than grinding while shifting, then most likely you have worn synchros.
Try changing your transmission oil, it may be old or the wrong type, some redline mtl works good, if that doesn't solve your issues, your synchros maybe worn and in need of replacement.
i believe steve has the right answer, this happened to me on my '95 as well, turned out to be the crank angle sensor fell apart, while driving, just turned off like the ignition key had been turned off.
have you actually checked if u don't have spark ? remove one of the spark plugs and reconnect it to the spark plug wire, grabb a pair of rubber insulated pliers and grab the spark plug and ground the electrode to the engine while someone cranks the engine and see if there is spark, you can do...
yes the 2gb bumper will bolt right up, you will also need the 2gb headlights and fog lights(if you still want them) as the 2ga headlights and foglights will not work with the 2gb bumper.
ok cool,my problem was a complete loss of clutch pressure,I cleaned mine with brake parts cleaner, and it did the trick, this was several years back and still working like a charm.
do you happen to know how your original ecu got damaged ?I ask because if your wiring is at fault, you wouldn't want to plug in your good ecu as it may get damaged also.
beniger may have a point, there is a non-replaceable fusible link built into one of the wires that run from the alternator to the fuse box, this can blow from a reverse charge, you can replace these with 10 gage wire, other things that may have damaged are the coils.
I must say this has my interest peaked,it seems to be a very nice quality package,I didn't see any hp ratings on this so please keep us updated on any reviews you might have after you get your car running.
having the wastegate actuator connected straight to a boost source(j-pipe,the way you have it now) will only allow as much boost the stock wastegate spring will allow. In the first pic,the part with the white arrow is a boost controller, seems to be missing the knob to adjust boost, the part next...
althrough a blown exhaust manifold gasket will effect the turbo's response and how the engine perfroms in general they don't normally "pop",double check your intercooler couplers, sounds like one of them popped off or split open.
I agree with jusmx141's orginal post, its a fuel pressure issue, I had a very similar problem,it turned out to be a torn fuel pump o'ring.I had to remove it to actually see the slit in the o'ring, wich was caused by me removing the fuel pump and not slightly lubing the o'ring before reinstalling it.
Well you answered your own question, you have a 1st gen head, ,unless you have a second gen head on a 1g block, although most swaps usually involve the whole engine, a pic of your engine would clarify this.
his bcs restrictor is removed not the whole bcs,my t-25 would spike to 21 psi during very cold outside temperatures,otherwise,15 psi is about the max of the tiny hairdryer. You will be ok,its uncommon for people to destroy their engines on the t25,besides it only blows hot air outside of its...
correct, that is a cam angle sensor from a 97-99,the easier route is get a cam angle sensor for a 95-96 and bolt it to your head since you already have the plug on the harness side, all 2g heads have provisions for a 95-96 cam angle sensor.
