I just used the washers, because at the time the boltsweren't available.
Give them a call and see if the bolts can withstand some heat, if not get only the washers.GL.
Get some extra, cause when you rempve them, might want.put new ones.
You did a nice job, BUT whatever you do, the AC fan most likely will melt from the heat from turb-manifold combo, period.Try and install the AC fan on the outside of rad, in the same location as it would be on the inside/at least to keep the the air pushed thru the shroud .Not to mention...
I am pretty sure you guys seen this, but there goes again:
Garaget | Mitsubishi Eclipse 4wd making serious donuts! This the most drifting I've seen from 1G, period.
I didn't want to buy blanket, so I made simple heat shield/ wrapping it around the turbine .. Underneath the metal, I used a little material from DIY turbo blanket... My coolant temps went down noticeably...
OP, sorry to hear about your problems, but there are several things that come to mind::-It might have been defective spring, but then it happen second time..It's a little too much don't you think??- spring too long /don't have enough travel, so it gets compressed all the way and stays there...
To the OP:The idea isn't bad, but it's not worth it.. I speak a little from experience.. I made one myself. It wasn't the best out there, but worked. Here is the thread I made about it...
I think most of the people here are missing the main point:
Pre IC pipe is in the hottest part of the engine compartment, sandwiched between radiator and DP..Whatever you do there is no cooling or heat dissipating there at all!!!
There are on the market magnetic/or self adhesive/ fins and...
Nice job, Tim....... As allways.
Good to hear back from you......
Are you 100% bent on attending the shootout????????P.S. I thing you would do much better job with4202 IMO....BTW, I think this the link that ceedawg had in mind...
Get the S2000 and call it a day... DSM's are getting outdated. Don't spend your money there. There isn't a point in having to put another $4-5K into a car that you aren't enjoying.. Not like is a Ferrari. Life is short.. Believe me..
Guys, remember the pray Jesse said in FAST AND FURIOUS:
[B]Thanks god for ball bearing turbos!!!!!!!!!!!!!![So thanks god and stop arguing.. Both of these are amazing turbos, but only time will tell.......
You have to verify your options with whoever made your cams... They'll now the ramp rate, lift, etc...
After that you go with whatever they recommended... It isn't about what you want to buy.. For example for Comp; HKS; FP2 - 272's cams all you need is stock springs and retainers to rev to 8K...
I've done that on my 1G and the only way you could fit the fan is to install it on the condenser/before FMIC... It is less efficiernt, but works... Make sure this particular fan spins in the right direction???
Just flip the wires, if needed..
To the OP, thank you.. Me too I hate all theses tards, that think thay are cool.. First they blind all of us in the road, second their lights DO NOT even perform that well.
There is a reason that on a lot of the newer cars don't even come with HID's. And that includes luxury brands like...
To the OP:
There are more than few options that will reach your goal.. I'll speak only for myself, for what I had...
HX-40, period...
I did 443WHP on 2.0L @22-23 PSI and 496WHP @29-30 PSI/not a full run let off @6K/... Look at my set-up for details.. With 2.4L and HX-40 at 22-23 PSI you'll...
To the OP...
My opinion... I am a big Holset and BW fan, but if you don't mind extra 2-300 dollars save yourself the headache and get GT40R/4088 with 0.96 Ar housing... There this guy on here Tim Zimmer, AKA twicks 69 and he made awesome proven power with 2.3 motor and GT 40... Like 740WHP and...
OP, that is entirely your fault... Nobody said, that is OK to use Kelfords with single springs, unless they are Kiggly's beehives...
Sorry for your loss, but if you paid enough attention you should,ve known better...
FP allways were sayng: anything form FP2X or bigger, use Supertech dual...
No one mentioned, but I think the 2G's came with 11PSI preset boost, while the1G's were only 9 PSI...Second, someone mentioned, that 2g's are better...
That is true, but only ouside/looks and shape.Nothing beats 6 bolts the way they were originally designed...
FP hotside of 0.68 AR is anything but restrictive, as someone suggested above... AMS was and probably still using 0.63AR turbine for their 35 R turbos/ on in most cases/........
For the OP having a FP mani and 3065 already is not worth it to change to a T3-4 setups, like Diambo said.. Having...
1. He has an oil pressure regulator, so itwill supply the desired pressure to turbo...
2. There is no pressure in the return line/regardless how big it is...
3. In a lot of cases with Holsets, the return line wasn't being big enough is an issue, cause the oil can't drain fast enough/ I am...
Just push the AC button..
I had it like that on my car and it was perfect/but I kept the harness intact, cause I knew I was about to use it this way.....
My opinion is :
-Get a DSM Link
-FP mani and HX-35 turbo
-HKS, or FP2 cams
-buy a better clutch/like ACt 21-2600/, no need to buy another one again
-if you have cash left, get a BOSCH 044 and mount it in tank and call it a dayYeah , I went a little overboard, but my point is: Spend...
^^^ Exactly, unless the housing is too big, it would be perfect...
On the other hand, making a simple heat shield around turbine housing lowered my coolant temps about 4-5 degrees/highway, in the summer/...You can see in this photo below, I had actually a piece of heat insulating material...
The hard piping goes measured on the outside, so diameter of the pipes is 2.5" on the outer ends. Meanwhile the couplers measured 2.5" is ID, so that prtty much answers your question: Both in 2.5"/I mean couplers and t-bolt clamps....
I had a pipe like this one, it actually hada tube for recirculating the BOV.. As I said earlier is DEJON... Even the silicon coupler with the green stripe is the one they use.....
Don't know about the XS MBC, but Hallman, not possible. The reason for this is simple:
--Isnside Hallman you have a spring and a ball/facing the feeding nipple-from comp. cover/ and then another nipple/90* off the inlet one. As soos as the air overcomes the spring pressure it's going out to the...
Your best bet to remove both covers and measure the inducer/exducer, on both comp. and turbine wheels.
Then someone like Justin, or Matt would be able to help you.
Here is aperfect answer to your question---- ERL mani with GT 35R:
ERL Cast Stainless T3 Manifold - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com
Yeah, this is the BEP T3 housing. The DP itself was about 1" away from the alternator.. Then the alternator went bad and I changed it/ used a rebuilt unit... It didn't go bad due to being very close to DP... After I put the new alternator everyting was OK for a while. The problem with the new...
