Bumping this to see some interest in it. I plan on coming this Tuesday. Do the meets still start at 7? I just recently got rid of my DSM but I would still love to come down and talk to some people about their cars.
The hardest thing about it is that you can't really see it, but it's only 2 bolts. If you have a long enough extension it's not bad, I've done it before.
^^^agreed, read that post. I have personally installed/dealt with the kit and for the price it's a damn good deal considering you get good couplers and clamps. I did have a fair share of fitment issues and the weld on the j-pipe cracked pretty quickly, but there are plenty of good stories out...
The Greddy BOV has its mounting holes closer together than the 1g. You can line up the Greddy on the 1g flange and drill holes and they will both be usable on the 1g flange. You'll just need to get bolts and nuts to hold the Greddy down.

I don't usually hear about DSMLink in a budget build haha. But please, if you don't have the money right now to upgrade properly and safely with the correct fuel supply and tuning software, don't do anything until you have the money.
I wonder if people ever get tired of posting pictures of their cars with body kits on here and just getting told the same thing over and over again: "go back to OEM". Some of the body kits aren't so bad, some of the other mods are tastefully done. I like seeing threads like this because people...
I had to do the JB Weld bead for one of my coupler sections, and some of my other couplers have popped off but the one with JB Weld, surprisingly, hasn't. I'm not saying that the JB Weld bead is better than a real bad, but it's obviously just as good.
I have an EVOIII GT and I tried just keeping it around 15 psi and it was creeping bad, even with an o2 dump. I would suggest doing an external dump to stay on the safe side. Boost creep is very annoying while trying to tune/figure out your car.
Since you're talking 15-20psi I'm going to assume that this is on a turbo car (your profile says N/T). Go with a 3" so you don't have to replace the 2.5" with a bigger one later on in the future of your mods.
I removed my power steering for the main reason that it just gets in the way of a lot of stuff when your in that side of the engine bay. I'm sure there is a horsepower gain, improved fuel mileage, and less strain on the engine, but its probably not enough, or noticeable, to be worth removing...
Well you said it yourself that you're not good at launching the car, so the first bit of advice that I could give you is get better at driving your car before you start worrying about breaking barriers. You could spend a ton of money with go fast parts but its not gonna help if you can't drive...
First off, is the car gonna be your DD? If it is, I would say just fix it up. If it's not your DD, I don't think that there are many people on this site that would tell you to keep an N/A rather than an AWD haha.
Viper, I don't want to get into a debate with you, but 25psi is unnecessary overkill on an EvoIII 16g when the goal is only a 300HP street car, especially on the stock motor. 15psi would do fine on a 16g, and even taking it up to 20psi (given proper fuel mods and tuning) would be a sure 300HP.
Sounds exactly like an intercooler pipe came off. I've had this happen to me a couple times, should be an easy fix (if that is the problem). You can do a boost leak test which will make it very obvious if a pipe is popped off, and you can also find some smaller ones you may have while you're...
300 HP is easily attainable before 25 psi with the right combination of mods and proper tuning. I would agree with upgrading to a 16g, with proper supporting fuel mods: (larger injectors and pump), a tuning and logging device, and gauges (02 Wideband and aftermarket boost) to see what's going on.
check to make sure the arm on the slave cylinder ISNT moving before you start replacing hydraulic parts. if it is moving then you have a clutch problem.
^^^That's crazy hahaI think that ITBs would be much more beneficial on a non-turbo, though I don't think that I've ever seen it done on a DSM. You should give it a shot and see how it works out.
Beppe, did you do that paint job on your car? If so, could you give some information on how difficult it was, did you use spray cans or did you buy it by the gallon and use a gun, how long did it take, what kind of prep work/sanding between coats, and how long did it take. And I have seen the...
The thing that most people don't realize is that its not just the immediate effects like people that are working for GM losing their jobs. The glass, rubber, steel, etc. industries are also going to take a major hit.
Ok, I just wanted to do something cheap and easy, and I was hoping Rustoleum would look a little bit better, or a little glossier, than just flat black.
I'm planning on doing a paint job very soon, and I'm wondering if I could paint the whole thing with Rustoleum? I think I may have seen someone do it before, but I was just seeing if anyone had experience with it such as prep work, if primer is still necessary, sanding in between coats, how...
I think the car looks pretty good, the body kit really doesn't look that bad, at least the pieces aren't all blue haha. But for $500, hell yeah. I would have bought that for $500 even if the whole thing was painted that color blue.

My engine light came on, so I got my logger to see what it was. When I turned it on, this came on the scree:
Fatal Alert: MemoryMgr.c, Line:3061, Chunk over-locked
Now, I can't do anything, I can't turn the logger off, there is a "reset" option that also came up on the screen below the...
So I know that my shocks are definitely blown, the car sags unevenly, the ride is terrible and the slightest bump will shake the car violently with bump stop. But what I'm wondering is, how would I know if this caused my springs to sag too? I'm getting all knew shocks (I currently have KYB's...
