Sooo disappointing... Feal Suspension cannot rebuild my D2 coil over, due to no more available parts. My next option now is to look for a new set of lowering springs / shocks combo that are excellent for DD and auto cross, I am done with coil overs. I have good ideas for a set up. Any with...
I am going to get it fixed by Feal Suspension (Support Vendor), talked to them and they rebuild a lot of different coil overs and shocks. Hopefully they are good as they say they are. Turn around time is 7-10 business days. I just have to drive my Evo X more while the Talon is waiting for the...
Yes, I did everything that you guys suggested, before I posted here. They used to rebuild them back then, now, they only sell replacement for the black colored (2nd version). The purple are the first version I guess and they no longer support it, which is very disappointing. I love the coil...
I am not sure if there is a company out there that can rebuild my talon's front passenger shock. I called D2 and they don't sell replacement shock for my purple coil over RS kit. Any input or help is appreciated.
I noticed that I have almost the same issue with my '90 Talon. At idle the AFR reads between 15.6 - 16.5, alot of time it pegs to 17 even in normal cruise. At WOT I get 11.5 most of the time, ocationally I see 10.2. It has been like this for a year or more, seems like it is getting worse. I...
Mine started just like what you describe (minor squeak) every morning, few months later gradually got louder and longer time before it quieted down. I decided not to take anymore risk and ordered the bearing kit from JNZ tuning and will replace it myself. My problem now is the rubber boot that...

From me; 1K diamond ring for my wife (to make her feel that I just don't spend money on my Talon:)).Merry Christmas everyone.
Even at the softest setting, my D2 coilover kit is still little stiff for my daily driver. Handling now is really good though. Almost no diving feel when I break hard, squatting is almost non existance when launching hard and corners can be taken more agressively. I've had them for 2 years now...
I did not have any issues or any kind of surprice, I was following my OEM Service Manual. It was pretty straight forward. The shaft seal was a bit hard to pull out coz I did not have the right tool. I just carefully pried it with a screw driver. Be careful not to get any debris on any of the...
I did the cheaper route, bought a rebuilt from an auto parts supply and did not give them my original PS pump. The high pressure hose connector had mangled threads, so I returned it and they gave me another one. Installed the pressure regulator and switch from my original one. Did all the...
When I had my transmission rebuilt by a Mitsubishi mechanic about 7 years ago, my front end was just fine. I did not even need to align the car, tires were just fine. That is why I was surprised when I can actually see the front tires are toed in after this recent clutch & flywheel job. I got...
Thanks for the response. I know I have to get it align before I wear-out my front tires. I was just surpriced it is toed in. I'm taking it to Sears today after work.
^^Like zj94 said, you need o-rings (oem size). Mitsubishi has power steering pump oil seal kit. After the 3rd bad rebuilt PS pump from known auto supply, I decided to just overhaul my original PS pump that I replaced 3 months ago. I even fabricated an aluminium plate to prevent the oil from...
I think the OEM rebuilt pump had a clog, because it is now working! I still have to get a the replacement due to oil leak. I don't want to replace another rebuilt alternator.
I have Enkie RP02 17" X 8", +35mm offset (16.5 lbs. each) with 235 X 45 X 17" rubber (22lbs. each). The Talon is 2" lowered and have no rubbing problem, the front tires stick-out about half inch and the rear are perfectly even with the body.
Thanks for the info, I was actually leanning to rebuilding my own original pump since the remanufactured ones are crap. I have to locate a Mitsubishi dealer around my area.
Mine has noticeable whine, specially when the tank is below half. It is annoying when my turn signal is on, the loud whine syncronized with lit blinker. My pump needs to be re-wired for sure, I just haven't had a time to do it.
At least you got yours fixed. My OEM PS pump replacement rebuilt only works above 2K, it also leaks oil. I have to call the Auto Supply I bought it from and ask them to get me another one. I have a feeling it is the pressure regulator inside is the culprit.
I installed a new rebuilt PS pump, re-filled the reservoir with Dextron III oil and blead it per the manual instruction (lock to lock several times while jacked-up and engine reving at 2K+). While driving, it is heavy to turn when the engine is running below 2,000 RPM which I needed it the...
My car always been below the normal range at idle (warm), when the engine revs pass 1,200 RPM it goes up to "normal pressure range". Did you hook up your vacuum hoses back to IM and BOV? Might not make any difference but worth to ask.
That's interesting. My built 2.0L motor (8:3.1 compression Wiseco with 264/272 cams) reach full boost at 4500 RPM on my S256 ET. I was expecting full boost around 4100. It maybe due to my 2.5" down pipe and 2.5" cat.
My Synapse BOV has 2 air fittings on rear and 1 on side. When we hooked up (following the instruction) the 2 rear in "T" configuration attached to intake vacuum line and MBC, it was blowing air out and the car will not idle properly. So a friend suggested to just hook only 1, it worked after...
The only support that i know of is on the downpipe bolted onto the block (original support). That is what I am going to do when mine is installed, just have to fabricate it, because my downpipe does not have it.
That's an awesome pass, congratz and good luck to you for 2008 season. The video is nice, but I'd rather be seeing a pass like that in person. Hope to see you in Seattle (Pacific Raceway) this year.
An ex co-worker told me to wire the driver seat with a 50,000 volts from a coil. I told him that it could be a potential law suit if the thief to be is smart enough to get you back. Simple way is to have a secret switch to the fuel pump.
I am happy to see 2 original DSM owmners here, I myself an original owner of '90 Talon AWD. I intalled D2 coil overs (similar with K-Sport) last year, my rims are Enkie RPF2 17"X8", 35mm offset and no rubbinh problem. You have a nice car, I'm assuming it is always being garaged just like my...
