i had the same problem. When I would stop or sit at idle my car would slowly overheat. The problem was the upper and lower radiator hoses and had to flush my radiator fluid. CHECK to see if your hoses feel soft...thats a good indicator that they need to be replaced. gluck

clean 1g +1! i say GET RID of the lip. It just doesn't fit nice/perfectly and you want that thing to look super clean when dealing with dsm's. just my opinion.

Upper and lower radiator hoses might need to be replaced as well as flushing your radiator. Check to see if those hoses feel soft, if so that is a good indicator to replace them. My car just had an overheating problem when it idled for around 10 minutes but would be fine once i started moving...
