There are vacuum operated exuast cutouts on the market that open when you loose vacuum, like when you start to boost. I have not yet had the chance to try one yet but the idea sounds interesting. Possibly someone else has tried this setup and will chime in.

Why not cover it with a fabric. I have seen cars where the owner used a headliner material in a camo design that didn't look bad. You can get about any color or pattern you wish and either tuck it or use headliner adhesive to attach it. I personally like the stock look.

By chance have you check your dipstick seal. Mine was distorted and I lost oil onto my cover when I was boosting. I also thought power steering was my problem and resealed the fitting but found the dipstick seal was where the oil was coming from.

Yes the trans will bolt up, but I think the clutch and flywheel are different. If anything, all you need to do is bolt up the turbo parts and it will work.
