Did you purchase the SI spring seat locators with your springs? The Dual springs require a larger seat, so you need the ones that SI makes.Where did you get your springs?Chris Boone
Well, I'll be honest with you. There is a 1 year warranty against defects in workmanship on the turbo. So, here's a few things that you can do to protect yourself:Don't break in your new motor with your new turbo.
Change your Oil regularly.
New Feed/Return lines!It's a badass...
I'm just about to go home for the evening, but the reversion I understood you to speak of, had a lot to do with pressure backing up behind the turbine wheel, and going back into the cylinders once it passed the pressure of the exhaust. I've heard this can even make exhaust gases go back into the...
Are you referrring to a reversion of the wheel, or are you talking about the exhaust gases going back through the intake valves when open and causing detonation?I have yet to see the W/G Placement have any effect on knock.Honestly, the pressure in the exhaust manifold will equal itself...
Thanks!! :D But in all honesty, I can't even come close to taking all of the credit. There are a lot of people here that work harder daily, to try and fix problems (because they happen no matter where you go) and make things right! With that said, to answer the OP's question, here is my...
First of all, What happens when you run a straight vaccum line from a boost source to the WGA?Also, what size exhaust do you have?I would change out all of your vaccum line, try running a direct boost source line, and then go from there.Chris
Jeremiah,In 99, they switched the design of the Thrust Bearing, to the same design they had been using since evo4's came out. Instead of the Thrust washers (sides of the bearing) built into the main bearing, they use 3 peices the block half of the bearing. So, a standard Thrust Main is...
If your not looking for much gain in HP, why not try this on for size:Small 16G: http://www.slowboyracing.com/estore/product.php?productid=53&cat=195&page=1
2g Install Kit: http://www.slowboyracing.com/estore/product.php?productid=93With stock boost levels, this turbo will not do any...
Correct!! What I meant by "Your Application" is not the side in which it comes out, but the angle. That's why I told you, try it out, if it doesn't fit, we'll exchange it, no big deal! :DChris Boone
Please email me with your name and phone number. It's quite obvious that the turbo in your possession is not a GT series, and I don't know how it's possible that you got that.Thank you,Chris Boone

I just happened to notice this thread. For you N/A guys, that are looking to make a lot of power, without going to turbo, we have had these made:This is a custom 13.8:1 Compression Ratio, 6 bolt piston. It would require a lot of race gas, all of the time, but it's another alternative...
The B&M Unit is good if you need to up your Fuel Pressure, but with a large fuel pump, you're going to want to be able to drop down your fuel pressure!Chris Boone

Sir,We will actually assemble your used parts if you'd like. We can bring the block into our machine shop, and do all of the necessary work on it. It might even hurt your wallet less then your local machine shop!Chris Boone

Both the Fluidampr, and the ATI are high quality peices. They both will take up all of the harmonic frequency's. I'd run one of them 1000X before I run a Unorthodox or equivalent. The price tag is a lot, but when you look at them in your hand, you'll understand.Chris

This is a bolt on. The outlet of the turbo is straight firing, so you would either need a 90Deg silicon, or a 90deg elbow welded on. You'd still need oil lines for it too!Chris Boone

I think 11's are completely possible with that turbo! I'm a big fan of our bolt on 50trim. 400+ with very little effort. I don't really know (or care) a whole lot about the Ebay FMIC's, but I can tell you, the rest of your mod's list looks pretty solid.I usually reccomend people step up...
Sounds like you have a pretty good list setup. If it were me though, I would use a Cast Manifold instead of a Tubular one. Since this is a street car, you'll want all of the reliability you can get. When it comes to BOV's, my personal favorite is the Tial. The HKS though would be a distant...
First of all, like has been said above, there is a certain amount of peace of mind that goes along with a new crank. Would I hestitate to use a Reman crank? HELL NO, but if had the extra $$ for a new one, I'd pick it up.The eagle is nice as well. SBR Stocks quite a few of these.For...
The order was canceled without a fee because it is not the customer's fault that SLS will not deliver.Anyone try calling them today? Try it! 701.282.2902 Sounds like its off the hook! I wonder why? This order has been since 9-5-06. OH! and on their AOL IM, it says call us.. HA! I called...
I can get a Brand New, OEM head for a 420A. Your price would be 1399+ shipping.I can also get re-man heads for 699+ Shipping. :-DChris

Why the SBR Kit? First of all, SBR HAS THESE IN STOCK. We also help to support this site and its members! In reference to above, it's been said 100X, but I'll say it again. We designed the kit, sent them to Kinetic to be mass produced. We have more then 10 of each 1g, 2g, 1gstreet...
We sure will!!I will warn you though, there is no warrantee on these, ESPECIALLY on a 7bolt, so if it crankwalks, your out the cost of a good motor. We STRONGLY reccomend 6 bolt motors around here.Chris
Thanks for the positive feedback guys!!We're always trying to fix any issues there would have been, and we've been changing around our shipping/inventory dept to be able to give accurrate shipping times.Oh, and here's the thermal pic! Thanks,Chris

There is quite the difference between the two. The SBR turbo will bolt up to your factory manifold and o2 housing. The Hybrid will not. They both will require an oil feed and oil return. I would suggest the G50 though. It's going to be a lot cheaper in the end to install, and with all the...
Already told him about it! :-DI'm positive that it has a lot to do with the spring thats in there now. Changeing the install height of a spring changes it's spring rate, so I'd imagine that with a stiffer spring, the change in boost would be greater, and with a softer spring, you'd have...
Chad,You can get a 60-1 in a DSM Housing. There is no problem with that at all. Like Dustin said, Give me a call, I'll be glad to discuss some options with you.
We actually have brackets now on our site for these seats. We list wedge brackets for 1g's, 2g's, 3/S, 3g, and 4g Eclipse's. (And Talons/Lasers)These take about 2 weeks, but are very high quality, and for those guys that are dangerous with a welder, like me, this is the perfect solution!
I hardly think 2 washers is going to limit valve travel that much.Andy, thanks for the writeup. Next time I'm in a pinch for a spring, this just might work!
Agreed. Is it going to blow something up? Probably not. But balancing the clutch and flywheel together is probably going to solve the problem. Usually during a clutch job, I take the flywheel to a machine shop to be stepped. This is the ideal time to have them balance the assembly together...
I have to agree with Dan here. Those caps are nice, no doubt, but they take a while to get, and they are not needed. Take that 400$ and buy yourself something else. Make sure you take it to a good place for the line hone. This is VERY IMPORTANT, and if done wrong can cause Catastrophic failure.
That price also includes a block and head core. Meaning you do not need to bring your old stuff in. I'm willing to bet RRE will make you source a head and a block to build from.
