I searched but couln't find any definitive info on this turbo:http://www.turbosystem.com/hahn/parts/s16g.htmThe wastegate is set at 15-17 psi of boost. Would that be safe on my motor? My mods are in my profile. If thats too much boost is what other mod would I need to do to run this...
You cant inject water before the intercooler you will flood your cylinders.. jeez I thought everyone on tuners knew that!! If the water goes thru the intercooler it will de-atomize!!And yes I agree Get DSM-LINK Chips do not tune the car properly, put it on a Dyno with a wideband.
Water injection would be beast no matter what setup you use it with as long as it tuned - you know I'm an advocate of it. Oh by the way I'm pickin up my new car this week so soon we'll be able to run it and I can see how fast your car REALLY is lol..Seems like everybody is running 20+ psi...
I recommend you get another stock replacement turbo if you don't want to tune your car. I'm sure it will feel faster in the top-end if you've been driving with a blown (or on it's way out) turbo. and you won't need to upgrade anything. When you're ready to tune your car them think about...
Oh and idk if you have enough clearance but a cut-off tool and an air compressor would make quick work out of any metal on your car. I used one to cut my mount to accept a 1g block.
You might wanna do your valve cover gasket. I ddn't notice it on the list but they definitely like to leak on 4g63'sAnd a leaky valve cover gasket is very ugly in your engine bayedit: Nevermind I didn't read well enough lol
Solid mounts are going to increase engine vibrations, and I don't even know if anyone makes "solid" mounts for our cars. You can get inserts if you have bad mounts or want to upgrade.
Finally somebody could clear that up for me.Now I am gonna have to toy around with some nt pistons, Looks like a cheap way to get a bump in compression :sneaky:
I removed my power steering pump, some lines and reservoir. It cleaned up my engine bay a bit.I don't mind the extra workout getting out of parking spaces ROFLHere's a picture:edit: I also have cruise control removed, spare tire removed, and bench removed. I got my car weighed with me in...
What about using non-turbo pistons in a turbo block? Anybody know how much they can take?Since they would be in a block with oil-squirters and a knock sensor, shouldn't they be able to handle more horsepower than in their stock block?
You obviously have coolant and oil mixing at some point in the system. Theres not many places it can be mixing. (Your turbo isn't one of them)It's more than likely your head-gasket. I would drain everything and change the head-gasket.
You cant just estimate a cars power output like that. Every car is different. There are many variables in the situation. If you don't want to drive and pay for dyno time then thats your choice.Take the car to the track. Trap speed is a good indicator of how much power you're making.
Some people think Hondas sound cool ROFLI dont think that's as riced-out as huge spoilers though, At least it was in an effort to make more power. Before you go through emissions, you should have all the leaks in your exhaust fixed. That would be the perfect time to get a cat-back...
You just went from one extreme to another :confused:At first you say you want a "streetable turbo" , but in your last post you talk about gt30 and 35r's (Both of which require modifications to run)Have you been to the dyno with your 16g? If you are making 370 to the wheel with a 16g you are...
Any exhaust work you do is just gonna make that popping sound louder. My friend has a non-turbo with a header, cat-delete, and cat-back. His car sounds exactly like what you are describing but LOUDER.For a stock 2.0 non-turbo motor you should just do a cat-back and wait on the header until you...
I'm keeping it for now***lol, I really want out of DSM's to be honest but while I'm stuck with this un-reliable pos I mind as well do something for the streets
As it stands my car is posted for sale. I have had the motor in and out at least 4 times Since I bought the car in November 07. I've experienced spun bearings, a stripped timing belt, a broken oil pick-up and many other mainly smaller issues. With that being said a lot of people are bs'ing me...
lol My honest opinion is dont get too crazy with the mods unless you have another car as a daily driver.. The more stuff you do to your car, the more chance you have of breaking things..The next 4g63 I build will either be fully built or rebuilt to stock spec with ARP fasteners.. I don't trust...
KP you already know how I feel.. DSM's are way too unreliable for a daily driver, I'm not giving up on DSM's but I'm definitely selling my car for something more reliableI'll return to the 4g63 when I have money to burn on a a project car.. For now - I'm going with some rwd muscle that you...

Of course it's better at the track , It does hold more boost. In fact it holds boost when it shouldn't and causes compressor surge. If you were at the track this could help you but on the street it would cause excess stress on the turbo. Most people lower the boost when they leave the track...
Why would you buy v2 halfway through 2008 and then shell out more dough for v3 when it comes out in the next 6 months?? I mean if you just can't wait and your car needs to be tuned then go for it, but I think that would be pretty dumb. :notgood:I used to use ECU+ and I always wondered why GM...
Well I stripped them and sanded some rust off (there was actually rust underneath the original paint). I cant imagine why the paint wouldn't hold up, I sprayed my intake manifold a few months ago with no prep work at all and it still looks good.. Two motor swaps later :)There are a few...
The red color they were when I got em was a bit too flashy for me. I also picked up an ebay BOV (I'll let you guys know how that turns out )Can't wait to get my rebuild kit and put my motor back together ! :thumb:
5 minutes is disturbingly fast for a scissor jack ROFLTo the OP.. I agree with the majority in saying you should do the work yourself. Use the money you save to upgrade the car :thumb:
16g turbos use an internal wastegate just like the 14b ROFLTo the original poster: Porting out your o2 housing will be the most cost efficient solution - you can also get a tubular o2 housing which flows better(I have one for sale pm me If you are interested)But if money is not an...
