JL Audio W7's for sure. A few years ago my friends and I used to do the decibel competitions at Dukes Car Stereo in Flint and the guy with the W7's always won and they were always extremely clear when playing normal music.
Doesnt surprise me one bit. I almost didnt add that question mark. I suggest never buying from them. Support good people like extreme psi even if it costs more.
That just doesnt make sense. I saw Ryan pull new springs out of our bins and then i went back to my lathe on the other side of the shop....this issue pisses me off cause i cant wrap my head around it.
past the turbo, 0 back pressure is actually a goal. check for clogged/pinched/ruptured lines to the gate as well. id even just run a brand new line bypassing your boost controller straight to the gate. check and double check everything. goodluck.
Not only is that impossible but they do not have the capability. Making a CHRA takes hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cnc machinery, engineering, and manpower holding dimensions to >.0001 on some features.
I wouldnt freak out untill you start having problems. Who did you get your gate from? And the OP's springs looked as if someone took an acetylene torch to them to get the right bar pressure. All retention was completely gone. There was no discoloration on the gate itself to consider heat...
Not your fault. I would have done the same thing. Pics of the others would be great. I would send pics to Jake as well and include a ruler behind the springs for reference. Not speaking as an employee of TiAL mind you, but from personal experiences and opinion, i prefer to order my own DSM...
Cant wait to tear into it! One question...did it come with only one spring inside or was it only one that had failed? For 17.4psi you need one grey spring And one maroon...
Lol, if i could do that i would. Im just a peon though...=(If you send it in, we replace the parts that are wrong and the turnaround is very quick. Some warranty some not. Depends.Keep bugging the crap out of Jake.
Yes, i am in the turbos and machinist division as well as the engineers slave, but the internals of the mvs are completely different from the old 38 from what i have seen. I have heard chatter around the shop about people sending back couterfit springs for credit so why wouldnt they send the...
Yes, and your link helped alot. Thanks much. Im going to uncheck the non 95-96 box, keep stock wire layout and see where that takes me. Would still like to see what the OP comes up with in case it doesnt work.
Ex: 1g Cobalt SS...big let down.I might be wrong but dont you have to look at the gear ratios within the charger itself compared to what engine youre putting it on?
Mine makes that noise when the power steering fluid is low. It has also made that with a bad waterpump bearing. Do what luv2rallye says and youll find it.
If youre using the overflow tank as a catch can what are you using for an overflow tank? Just wondering cause you kind of need that for proper coolant cooling. But anyway, sounds like youre getting too much back pressure from the can. To work like a breather you would need the tube leading in...
Just make sure the valve is still in it and has pressure from the springs pushing the valve shut. You can see and press on the valve if its unbolted from the pipe. Its breakdown from top to bottom goes something like; adjustment screw, top, springs, diaphragm assembly, valve, and the bottom...
Thanks guys. Im deff. going to do some of the Detroit events. Im surprised to see Crystal on their list... twice. My family has a cottage up there so ill deff. check it out. For practice though i think im gonna check out The Mounds when it isnt a swap, lol. I found a few jeep trails up near...
So I'm wondering, and google is letting me down, are there any open trails around Michigan that allow rally type cars? I see all these off road parks but thats for more of the dirtbike, atv, rock-crawler types. All i want to do is practice sliding around in some dirt...legally...not being...
Haha, thanks. You give me faith. We will see what i can do as soon as i get some leathers but i know its definitely gonna take some practice at first. And the slipper clutch they put in the new cbr's is extremely weird on launch.
If theyre in the wg area they are not in the CHRA. The only thing those will lead to, if they get big enough, is boost creep like issues. I had the same cracks.
Horsepower clocked in at 157 at the wheel. Ive got a 10in stretch. Never ran it on the track though so i expect it to be much slower. High tens probably after a few runs.
yes, post a pic of the cracks. i have never seen it either. just threw out a catastrophic possibility for any possible way a turbo could mix oil and coolant.
The coolant chamber in a CHRA is completely separated from the bearings by the casting itself. Unless theres a crack in the cast iron the two cant mix. My moneys on HG as well
Mine did this. What sucks is that the power steering dies with the engine and you have to break your arms to keep it off the curb if it stalls bad enough. I have a fidanza flywheel but alot of the problem was coming from a bad IAC with improperly set BISS
