A longshot, but I had a mysterious problem with my clutch after replacing the mater cylinder and clutch. What would happen is it would not fully engage especially after just a few gear changes. Turns out is had "clutch fluid pump up" which is when the clutch was not adjusted corrected and the...
Coincidentally I just had this problem with the brake tab. When I got home I noticed my brake lights stayed on. I checked brake fluid - fine; took it up a small hill in the neighborhood and it rolled down fine with no binding so I figured it was not a stuck brake pad. I noticed some small pieces...
Thanks for the link, I found the right connector, disconnected it, and now it cranks fine.I did make a mistake the first time I tried and disconnected the Cruise Control Safety, which would then not let me crank it at all.I then saw the white switch on the firewall that is depressed when the...
I know you wrote this a while back, but his excellent summary kept me from getting the wrong switch. Thanks. In case anyone else needs info, I attached a parts diagram.
I'm having a similar problem and I think its this white switch not working when the clutch pedal is depressed all the way. I can pump the switch / pedal while holding the key in start position and it eventually cranks. Do you know what that white switch is called? Appreciate the help.
it seems my clutch switch just started intermittently not working (car won't turn over). I know it is activated when I depress the clutch all the way to the floor, but where is it actually located and is it possible to just disconnect it somewhere?
Yes it was P1070 which lists probable causes as: Large vacuum leak, fuel system injectors/pressure, ignition system malfunction, Air Flow Meter malfunction, or exhaust leak near oxygen sensor.I took the old MAF and cleaned it with MAF cleaner (DO NOT USE anything else) so perhaps the original...
I replaced my MAF and left the battery disconnected for 30 min. however now the car won't idle properly. It seems to run fine when on the street, but when I stop at a red light it has low bouncing idle and after less than a minute of struggling will cut out. Any suggestions? Thx.BTW, the car...
Mainstream recommended EBTEC in Powder Springs https://www.facebook.com/ebtecautomotive/ Have not been there but they were very responsive via Facebook to my inquiry about a possible turbo upgrade.
I also live in Marietta and wish there was something closer. Mc
After replacing the master cylinder mine did the same thing. Turned out the clutch pedal was not adjusted quite right and that allowed "pump up" over some miles of driving. See this thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/2g-pedal-pump-up.170178/
You win the prize! It was in fact the adjustment on the rod from master cylinder. I loosened the nut and adjusted the rod about 3 turns and now it seems ok. Time will tell.BTW, during my research I found a post that 2Gs have this 'clutch pump up' syndrome and unless adjusted exactly, the line...
When you press the clutch pedal it pushes the hydraulic fluid to disengage the clutch. So for example, if you push it halfway and its only halfway disengaged, its slips. Conversely, if the system has air in it so it won't push the fluid, the pedal is soft and the clutch won't disengage.What...
Having a similar problemI've noticed it drives fine for 15 min or so, but then when I stop and park like at a store, then start driving again, it starts slipping. After parking it at home, after it sits for an hour, it drives fine again. So, it acts like some pressure is builds up, makes it...
The shop followed the bleeding instructions but said they now think the md749915 clutch fluid chamber is the problem. It sits on the side of the clutch / tranny, a small cylinder like a gas filter, between the master and slave cylinders. According to the shop the Mitsu dealer no longer carries...
I appreciate this link, in fact saw it earlier, printed it off the link and gave it to the shop as guidance to them.... so yes, I agree they appear to have a lack of experience to fix it IMO. BTW, i
I have a 1997 GSX and am having a problem with the clutch and master cylinder after the shop worked on it.The car was great shape but had a minor leak inside from the master cylinder. I tolerated this for literally 5+ years by simply bleeding the line every 3 months or so. Then I decided to...
The slave cylinder is in fact as described above. However, I think you may have misunderstood the adjustment would be at the Master Cylinder. The slave only has hydraulic movement and no adjustment. You can see the Master Cylinder if you look to the left of your clutch pedal on the inside, and...
