14.8:1 is fine in closed loop operation (idle and normal driving) because that is what your ecu is targeting (from the factory) in closed loop operation. But under WOT you want to be around 11:1 or more rich as stated earlier. Also, make sure your WB sensor is in good condition and calibrate it...
Found the problem guys.. Base timing was only at 0 degrees and my hallman boost controller was adjusted all the way out (I thought this would just cause me to run on straight wastegate spring, but it was actually leaking air from the boost controller just putting 1psi in for a BSL). Still have a...
Yeah I do need to work on the upper calibration a bit because i turned the boost up at the track and that messed with the calibration a bit. I will work on smoothing out the DA tables. This is my first time using DA to tune. Why do you think I need off boost calibrated more? I have run the...
I ran at the track all day on sunday but I haven't noticed a change in coolant levels. The bottom end only has 5k miles on it but I think I'm going to have to check the base timing and do a compression test on it because something doesn't seem right... I just don't understand how link says I'm...
What's a KS? Knock sensor? Yeah it is plugged in. I have had cooling issues ever since I put this car togehter. It gets hot at very random times. I've tried a new rad cap, maybe I should try a new thermostat.. I am running out of injector because these delphi's don't flow worth a damn, however...
I'm actually running an evo 3 16g. The 14b was on my old car. Yeah the WB factor is only varies by 5 % in some areas. I do need to tweak my mafcomp a little bit in some areas bbut it is very close to the afratioestimate
Timing is the stock 1g map I actually lowered it a little in the upper rpms. It could use leaned out but I don't believe that it is so rich that it would cause me to run this slow.
So I went to the track the other day and only managed a best of 14.6@94. This was launching off of the 2 step at 4500 rpm and spiking boost at about 22psi. I am completely confused as to what is going on. I ran a 14.3 at 93mph in my old eclipse (avatar pic) on a stock bottom end with a 14b...
Just wanted to see if anyone was planning on heading to the Steel Valley Supernationals this year. I go nearly every year and I feel like I'm always the only DSM there!. It is $35 for a weekend pass and you get unlimited runs down the track. The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend...
I'm in the same boat as you except I'm not running in the front 02 position or using my WB for narrowband simulation. The software is such crap, even 3.15, I've had to reprogram it so many times just to get my gauge to read semi-correct values. I would click on the analog output 1 tab, and then...
I tried using the 3.15 software and its giving me a ton of problems. If I get both outputs set the same either the gauge will work correctly and ecmlink input will get stuck at one value or the reverse happens. Maybe I'll try uninstalling all the software and doing it againDo you setup...
The fpr reads 53psi? If you have a manual 1g then you need to pull the vacuum line of the fpr and set the fuel pressure to 37psi when the car is idling
It also says that you can skip those steps entirely if you log the lc-1wb value. Then all you need to do is use the lc-1 software to reprogram the output to the gauge to match the wideband
I'm in the same situation as Razr.. How do you go about calibrating open loop with a wideband? Do you go WOT to grab the MAFRaw points you cannot reach in closed loop, and then adjust the mafcomp to get AFREST and logged wideband to get close together? Also, is WBFactor just a term or is...
Tomorrow night is the first official Forced4's cruise of the season. They are having giveaways and it begins at 6. Anyone want to come? It is right off the highway in Garfield Height's
Yeah no one usually shows up till around 8:30 or 9. I won't be able to make it out with my car this week, but I will definitely be there the week after
If you had ECMlink I could help you out, but I've never tuned an SAFC. Should be pretty self explanatory once you get the WB hooked up. Just keep the AFR around 11.1 at WOT or a little richer if you want to be safe. Check the Tech Article Archives because I'm pretty sure there are some good...
I live in the Valley right by all the bars. The car in my avatar is my old eclipse, I actually drive a green 93' Talon now. I only had it out for a few weeks last year because I just finished building it 2 days before the shootout (bought it as a shell). I had it out a week ago but it is back in...
Yeah come out dude. I've only been there once and there was a good 30-35 cars. There are also meets in garfield heights on Thursday nights with a group called Forced 4's. You can find both on facebook
Hey guys, there is a car club called Gripped Ohio and they meet up at a Sonic on Snow Rd. in Parma/Cleveland are on Wednesday nights. One of my friends run it and I'm planning on heading up there tonight from Akron if anyone would like to join
I live in Akron and go to school at UA. I don't see too many DSM's around here. Let me know what you need help with and I can give you some pointers... My car is currently in storage, but I'll be pulling it out once the weather turns around. It will be on some new shoes and coilovers...
Your stuck struts are not going to last long with those springs. If you want KYB struts then go with the AGX's because the GR2's will not last for long with lowering springs. From what I've heard, Koni yellows are one of the better struts/shocks for our cars
Evo wheels are 17x8 +38 and people are running those on both 1g's and 2g's, so I don't see why you would have a problem. I'm looking into some XXR 527's that are 17x8.25 +35 so I'm in the same ball park as you are. Just trying to decide on tire size. Since I have a 1g I think I have a little...
Didn't look at your profile but there is no way you are going to fit 9" wide rims under your car without coilovers. And I am digging those bronze drag wheels you posted...Myself, I'd like to grab a set of the BBS wheels off the EVO X MR
Mine mated up to an evo 3 16g..Kind of hard to see, but it fit perfect.Fabed up a small metal bracket to hold the intake though because it was a lot of weight on the small 16g intakeExtreme PSI makes one, but I'm not sure if it's any cheaper than FP's
Hey guys I'm a newbie to tuning and ecmlink so I just have a few questions to ask.I have Ecmlink v3 installed and am running Delphi 680's,a GM MAF with a direct cable for link..I have the global set right right for my injectors, airflowperrev sitting around .25-.26 at idle with COMBFT sitting...
It's a temp fix till after the shootout. The LICP and alternator are pretty much in the way of where the dumptube should go and the punishment dumptube they sent me runs straight into the radiator.Won't the injectors still shoot fuel with the CAS unplugged?
Ok Guys.I'm finishing up a full rebuild (wiseco/eagle) and plan on starting her up tomorrow.I packed the oil pump with grease when putting it together. For the first start up, should I unplug the MPI relay and the coil and crank the motor some to get the oil pressure up before I start the car?Is...
I don't know what your education is like,or what kind of baggage you have (kids, wife, whatever),but you could think about continuing your education somewhere more interesting.Going to a major school in a metro area would definitely help you to find more diverse people and also more open minded...
OK guys, just a quick question.I bought a shell that I am putting together. It has prothane motor mounts but was missing the one motor mount that hooks to the top of the motor right underneath the cam gears. So I am on prothane's site trying to figure out which one of these inserts goes into this...
