yea i think the evo runs like 20+lbs of boost on the big 16g.. Add the FMIC, 560 injectors, larger fuel pump, better tune from the factory, and there you go.
You could get like an intake tube off of ebay and save a few bucks. I had one on my old setup and was pretty similar to the injen intake. I have a 2g FMIC from ebay and works great.
I had the same problem with my fwd. I brought it to a mechanic and he replaced both hub assembles and tightened everything up with new bearings and hardware. After that the car was solid in the rain
I will be setting up my Antilag with my dsmlink this weekend and will let you know how it is. Ive heard that a keydriver chip and SAFC combo can work well on certain applications. You could also go with the MSD ignition. If you have a 1g you could use the 6al.. if you have a 2g you must use the...
I'm running the Devils Own Alcohol Injection kid on my 2 with a TO4b v trim.. and loved it. Defiantly one of the best investments on my dsm. I will be installing the FP Green This weekend and will let you know how it comes out on the dyno with the meth. I also hope to run 24psi daily and safely.
I had a t04b vtrim with an internal gate with an atmospheric dump. And it was louder than my buddies external gated Jetta and Integra. It was surprizingly loud
I got the FP2's and low end is ok. Nothing crazy but up top they helped out alot. On a more stock car i would also do a 264/272 combo so you wont have to sacrafice the low end power
It sounds like a boost leak to me. Or maybe an exhaust leak which you could probally hear at idle. Make a boost leak tester and test for leaks. You can use like really soapy water over like the throttle body area or areas where you can hear a leak but can't quite pin point it.
I broke a stud off into my head from my exhaust manifold. It leaked and was very annoying. I just drilled out the broken stud, used an easy out from sears and fixed it the right way. Its alot better in the long run.
you have anything to log with? I agree with winterftbl. Tell us what parts you have. It could be a variety of things from an exhaust leak to a boost leak. Maybe you have a huge turbo that doesn't spool untill 5k rpms
Sorry man. That's just bad luck. You could always open it up and see the extent of the damage. Even if a mechanic says it "sounds" really bad, but then again don't all blown motors sound really bad? haha
I had the same problem with my 2g after I put in a new motor. The plug that came and hooked into the coils was the wrong one. In my car there were two identical plugs that fit to the coils. I had no spark at all good components. I switched the plugs, I believe the harness comes from the back of...
Welcome to the dsm community and good luck with the new car. I agree and get a boost gauge first then make sure all matainence is mint on the car before modding it.
The most succesful people using HIDs made their own. For example They took like bmw or audi ballasts and projector and retro fit it into the stock headlights. If done right they look awesome.
I got the fp2's with the crower springs and retainers and love them. The idle is not too bad and they add up top. I made 301whp at 12psi with them on my to4b v trim on 93 octane with a stock 7bolt bottom end
Double check all the terminals and cables for clean a good tight connections. Make sure you belts are all in good order and that the pulleys spin well. Start with the easy stuff and step by step eliminate things
I have a Halman Pro Manuel Boost Controller and it worked great with my small 16g. And now still works great with my fp green. I had a turbo xs dual stage MBC and I didnt really like it. In my opinion the Halman Pro is your best bet for a MBC
thanks guys for the replies. I'm going to the Dyno sometime over the winter. I had a bullseye performance TO4B V trim before. Heard great things about the green and got a killer deal.
hey guys.. i just installed my fp green with a EvoIII exhaust manifold and HKS 40mm wastegate on the manifold. I was wondering how much boost would be max to run with meth injection on 93 octane and be resonably safe? my mods are in my profile.. and i will be tuning and logging with dsmlink.. thanks
i just got my dsmlink v1 for cheap.. for a 2g dsm... i want to know the differences between the v1 and v2 and is it worth the 50 bucks and the down time to upgrade to the
v2.. thanks for your replies.
does anybody have any experience with these hatchs.. they are on ebay and i was wondering what the the weight comparisions with the stock hatches.. i want to loose alot of weight in my 2g talon awd.. any ideas??

ok so i saw that i had a burn mark on my dsmlink chip. Nothing else seems bad on my ecu so i need a new chip to replace my burnt one with that can be tuned with the link.. please respond back with any suggestions. thanks
you are also going to need all new gaskets. It would be a good idea to get a new oil drain line and possible feed if kinked at all.. I got mine from Slowboyracing, its like a rubber type and is very easy to take on and off.. I also have the SBR ss oil feed, which worked great for me
yeah I went to the dyno like 5 months ago.. I made 301whp @12psi as a base run ( no tune).. thats before I had dsmlink and the water injection. Im looking foward to the spring and im hopeing for around 400whp.. but thanks for all your comments and thoughts. I wanted to boost to like 22-24psi tops.
I was wondering what would be a safe boost level for my car on the dyno? I want to make the most power i can on 93 octane with out blowing my motor.. How much boost should I run.. my profile is updated with all my mods. I will be tuning with dsmlink and have a rebuilt stock 7bolt bottom end...
I purchased an eprom ECU from a running 2g gsx with the DSMlink chip already socketed in the car. The chip is made for a 95 gsx with 550cc injectors. I have a 1996 eclipse GST with 680cc injectors and can not get the dsmlink to connect with my lap top. Im currently using my logger cable which i...
Ok, so its not the starter, how long has this noise occured? or when did this first start happening, because when i changed to motor on my car i had tha same problem because the gsx flywheel is thicker than the GST flywheel and i got this really bad grinding noise also
Do not quote me on this, but I've heard that starters vary with AWD and FWD because of the differences in thicknesses of the flywheel. If i was you, i would double check the part numbers so that it matches your model car.
