Well, it's been over two years since my last update and quite a few things have happened since then..I worked on the car quite a bit from the date of the last post up until my wife and I had our son back in January of '21. I left my job in June of '21, borrowed a travel trailer, and moved...
Brand new set of springs and retainers. Bought these a while back but decided to go a different direction.250 shipped to your door.

Forgot about this due to all of the craziness.. I guess it's time for a couple of updates.Pretty normal disappointing stuff for a car that has sat for years. I dug into it, got the engine ripped out and discovered that the timing tensioner pivot arm was completely seized up.. causing the...
The car ran and drove.. for a few miles.I was able to take a little shakedown drive for about 15 minutes.. Other than that and a little groaning from a wheel bearing, the car ran great for it's first time out in 5 or 6 years.I popped the hood as soon as I got back to the house, and I could...
So yeah, this thing had been sitting for a while and she was in pretty bad shape. I spent a solid week with the car and a case of wasp killer trying to evict the previous tenants.Victory was eventually mine. The car still runs. Old gas, an ancient battery, and a metric ton of wasp carcasses...
Something not unlike this?

Yes, I'm pretty sure your valves are going to be bent. I was in this same exact situation about a year ago, what timing belt were you using?
It could be a number of things..First, If you have not done a boost leak test.. do it now!
Second, how old is your clutch? It could be slipping.
Third, There is a possibility that your turbo is on its way out. Does the car smoke at all?
Fourth, Check the plugs/wires, they could be causing bad...
Brand names of body kits, under-drive pullies, and air filters that claim x-amount of hp gain plastered on the door as a roll call - riceA few tasteful decals hidden under the hood to honor the engine internals and turbo that can help you get into the 10's - nice
I bought mine from motoguys.
Very fast shipping and the ecu is still in tip-top shape.
I'm sure you can find a couple in the classifieds, but I had a very good experience with Motoguys and wanted to pass it on.
well, I was under the impression that these were eibach sportlines.. I opened the box today, after it sat for years; the springs are blue, not red. they look like sprint springs off of ebay.. lolFAIL
I have a set of Eibach Sportline Springs for a 1g awd and I am wondering if they could be installed on a fwd 1g.I realize that the awd springs have a larger drop; what is the difference in the spring rates for each set? Are there any size differences between the sets?
Seriously.. the original post was not hard to understand at all..Maybe OK had no other choice other than to register the car with their own VIN because the car never received a VIN in the first place.. and they just threw in a projected build date? seems possible
I have also been dealing with this exact problem for a couple of months now..
At first I was leaning towards a faulty oil cooler sandwich, so i replaced it with a new '90 housing and air to air oil cooler.. but the problem still lingers. My compression is still the same as when I finished the...
I bent all my exhaust valves when my timing belt gave out.. about 300 feet from my house. A few weeks ago, I somehow blew the oil filter seal on my talon cruising down the highway.. about a mile from my house. So far, I have not broken down outside of walking distance from my batcave. :talon:
On a bone stock car, there is a nipple on the turbine housing outlet pipe. A hose is run from that nipple to the nipple on the wastegate, and provides pressure to activate the wastegate whenever you hit 9-10psi of boost.
I'm not too sure that there are aftermarket springs that will have much less drop than those do.You could just replace the Neuspeed springs with stock ones; that seems like the cheapest and most effective route. Unless you want a set coil overs of course. Just depends on how much you can...
Although I am also pretty reluctant to use anything but OEM for something as important as an oil pump, I've done a lot of research on these Toga pumps.. and they sound pretty legit.I'm sure you could easily find a crank pulley in the classifieds in excellent condition, or you could go the...
of course..This was stated in the first post...Anyways, I have an evo III 16g knock-off turbo and it hasn't blown up yet
most are unreliable chunks of metal, but it looks like I got one of the very few "good" ones.
I finally got around to draining my oil today, and there is no coolant in it. I have not lost any oil whatsoever since I tightened up my oil cooler. Was there any way for the oil to come in contact with the coolant when the oil cooler was loose? I thought the cooler was a closed system so that...
Okay, so here is the story.Last week, I was leaving my college campus to make the ~10 mile trip home.. and I lost all oil pressure while sitting at a stop light. I gave it enough gas to get going, killed the engine, and coasted into an empty parking lot.The hollow bolt that the oil filter...
Well, the Texas Mile was awesome. It was my first time there and I only attended on Sunday, but its was still much more than I had expected. The fastest car on Sunday was a Boost Logic(I believe) Supra that ran in the neighborhood of 240 mph!The fastest bike I saw, was a turbo Hayabusa...
The very first thing you should do is familiarize yourself with your car and this platform, make sure that your car has been properly maintained, and do some tests..(compression test, boost leak test, Check the valve timing, etc.)read every word of this thread: Tech Guide: 1G 4G63t Upgrades...
I am going to side with Anthony on this one.
I think this blown t-25 should be replaced with another t-25.(one in the classifieds for $50)Save the 16g and fmic combo until more money can be gathered to properly upgrade your car with decent fuel and engine management mods to support the...
I was in this same situation about a month ago. I made the mistake of using a Rock Auto "OEM" timing belt, and the teeth just happened to tear off. I'm sure my oil leak helped cause the problem, but I am just throwing this out there to give you some ideas of what happened.
