I have a hx40 7 blade turbo. I posted a red pic on page 1 of this thread. The wheel size is 60mm inducer 88mm exducer. I talked to a well known dodge performance turbo shop. They recomended that i find a seven blade turbo. If not 7 then the six blade, then if all else fails get the 8 blade. Im...
Yea i know dsm90, but i have a idea that the truth is these new cams are the evo ones. Why cant the evo cams just be fliped around? It's the same 4g63 engine. It is just facing a diffrent direction. I looked at the evo and 1g cams and they look identical if you point them in the same direction.
Im wondering if the new fp123x cams are new comp cam grinds for the 1g/2g or are they the new evo8 cams. I say this because I now see that comp has 119100, 119200 and 119300 part numbers for the evo's. I cant find the new comp part numbers for the "new" dsm X grinds. It's funny that there are 3...
One more thing crower makes a 102mm steel crank for dsm's. Add that to a very large bore 4g64 and your past 2400cc's. I think the crank is like 2 grand or so. Personally i would spend my money on a more powerfull turbo if you want more power. A 4g64 is big enough. And big turbos work very well...
I think the trader got shut down not taken down. For years they killed the accounts of anyone who made a loud post warning of a scammer trolling the board. But at the same time we all seen the post of scammers on that board left for weeks and not removed. Since when is the victim the criminal...
I got the xs power evo 4" thick intercooler on e-bay. It worked out to be really 3.5 inches thick, 12'' tall, 20'' core length, 25'' overall length not including the nipples. That's ok with me. I payed $132 plus $35 shipping. This intercooler looked nice and was well made. It is a semi polished...
It makes so much sense. If the 1g manifold kicks all other manifolds on there arses from idle to 5000 or so why not just weld on a larger plenum and give it a good port to add the extra top end it needs. I had cut a manifold in half the long way to check it out. these things are not so easy to...
the one in the red pic is a 7 blade hx40 [they have 6,7,8 blades]
the second and third pic is of a 55mm cnc billet wheel [street]
the fourth and fifth pic is of a cnc billet 72mm [race]
an aerodynamic nose like Hector Cabrera's 93 gsx must be worth it's weight in gold at 177mph. the nose may help you not to push hundreds to thousands of extra pounds of air out of the way. it may also save some wear on the clutch and add a slight top end traction increase.how about wheelie...
thanks for the great comments supara/spart/nano/tsi/forces thats what its all about. your points are all well taken. the comp-fp3/4 must be hell on earth. how are the 3's working for you forces. would you have gone with 4's
tsi i think your missing my point. i agree that aftermarket springs are great. that point is not being debated by me. I'm just looking to separate fact from fiction. if the motor is truly in need of higher spring rates with the comp/fp1234 can a inexpensive shimming of a new factory valve spring...
forces i get what you are saying and I'm not knocking you at all. I'm just trying to figure out if aftermarket springs are a must with these cams. i just have not seen the evidence to prove their need. these are not the first or the wildest set of aftermarket cams made for the 4g63 since 1990...
i also called comp and the tech on the line said stock springs should work fine. he said if aftermarket springs were needed then comp would of made them for the cam.
has anyone on this borad ever floated a valve using new or low mile stock springs much less crower aftermarket springs with stock cams/web/hks/comp/ect.... why the rush to spend almost 400 hard earned bux on something that aint broke.
Attack eagle i have been there and done that!!!! I had an idea for a bolt in 60-1 turbo 5 years ago. I had to talk the owner of pte in to making it. It took me 3 months to get him to do it. I sent a 14b housing to PTE. I have not made a dime on that idea and now they are making millions.If...
From what I understand OBX makes these manifolds. SSautochrome like the rest of the retailers on e-bay just sells em. I had a turbo 2.0 manifold with the 38mm tialish gate. I was suprized that the manifold and gate looked so good. I do have to say that the wastegate pipe looked very long to me...
I ran coated 9.0 comp endyn pistons in my street 2.4. I would have to say that they are great pistons. They are very well made. No sharp edges anyware to be seen. The quench pad on top of the piston mirrors the head. I liked them so much im using them again this time in my new race 2.4 . Magnus...
I used the 2 diffrent grinds gude has for our dsm's. The first being the 228 deg grind. The cams were installed straight up without cam gears. The idle was very strong @750rpm and sounded like it was a small block ford 302 more than a 2.0 turbo. With the stock 14b turbo I felt like I lost some...
I have a 92 AWD automatic.Mods: HUGE Gude gorilla cams, 2.4 liter, oversized valves, stock injectors, 3.5" maft, stock exhaust. While breaking the engine in I got 15 mpg city. :barf:
I took a 1200 mile drive with a buddy in a 90 laser fwd turbo (no body kit or wing). The car had a K&N filter a 2 1/2" cat back and mobil 1 oil. From NY to fla we got 34mpg all highway driving. :D
I belive that housing is the same one being sold by a few shops now (sbr, agp ect). I guess the cost of this housing is lower than the PTE housing. Plus they dont cross promote the competion. Seen both. It does not look anywhere as good as the PTE housing. IMO it looks clunky and is not as...
The first batch of turbos went to long standing vendors of PTE for sale/testing. It only took 2 weeks to sell out the first shipment. From what the grape vine is saying many shops are seeing 550 to near 600 to the floor at under 30psi of boost with the GT61. One guy has run 10.40 with a built...
It's not just a garret with a fancy housing. These guys worked for garret for years. Then know all the airflow tricks. Good luck guys :laugh:Lij Allen
