When the car is in neutral the hole on the shifter arm lines up with the hole on the transmission bracket.

Bump, having the same issues.When I put it in neutral, the car creeps forward like it's in drive. I put it in reverse. It sometimes engages then it feels like it hits a brick wall and just stops like something is binding.

I burned my old ones out and used a dremel with a cut off disc to cut out the metal sleeve.

If you serious about it. Your going to have to find a way to fabricate the mounts. Then I don't even know if the speedometer cables are the same. I believe 1g's are cable driven and 2gs are electrical. Also with the reverse switch, I don't know if they are the same. Your also going to have...

The flywheels are different from fwd and awd. AWD is smaller diameter, FWD is larger diameter. The starters are the same. The starter plates are also different between fwd and awd. ZING!Just swap out the flywheels and get it over with.

Yeah, you can put a 1g in a 2g but your going to have to fabricate up mounts like he did. I don't know how he mounted the front mount but either way, I wouldn't do it. It's not a bolt in affair. The reason it won't work because the 2g has 3 "motor mounts" on the transmission and 1 on the motor...

No it will not work. Mounts aren't the same. A search would of yeilded you these answers, But you can put a 2g transmission in a 1g.

the talon on the tail lights can be removed but it's raised lettering, you can lightly sand the black off but i dunno if you can sand it flat.

Well the bolt is broken off in the block. The problem is, I can't drill this bolt out. We tried putting slots in it to hammer it out. Heating it up, and all that jazz. Nothing. I don't know what to do anymore to get this sucker out. Should I maybe make a bracket with a pin to hold that in place...

I think so, I've read taht it was done. Just make sure you pay attention to detail I guess there are some minor differences.
