haha. I was asking because I had a pair in the garage, but it's been so long since i've been keeping up with things that I don't know what they're going for these days.
my car has always done that too, built uncontrollable boost no matter what...i suspect my wastegate is fried, but i haven't been into the matter yet, i just take it easy for now.
AH excuse my retardedness, i knew that...anyway, even without the MBC and a line run from the j-pipe to the wastegate nipple, it still builds uncontrollable boost...
no my nipple on the J-pipe is capped off, but the wastegate doesn't have a nipple that i'm aware of? It's an 16g ...and i think possibly the flapper is stuck open?
Yes and it's not working, it doesn't controll boost no matter were it's set, and the spring is fine on it, so i actually removed it and capped off the nipples, but still no controll over boost and loss of power, so yes i assume it's wastegate? should i just replace it?
So basically i think my car is falling apart...i have the following codes thrownP0125
P1103I know the first is 'probably' my front 02 sensor from what i've read.As far as the 2nd one, i'm kind of at a lost for what it really means. Also, which i think is related...my turbo seems to...
Alright so...question #1. Last night i noticed i started overheating...and it looked like a coolant leak. Started looking around (after the car cooled down) and my lower radiator hose has a hole in it. but the hole came from my transmission (the rod on the outside that movies when you change...
Hm...before you start throwing stuff on, you need to go ahead and spend the 100ish bucks for a boost gauge, a pillar to put it in, and a MBC.Those are 2 of the most important and easiest things you need to keep. oh i forgot one...BOOST LEAK TESTER.Mine cost me around $12, do a search on...
that sounds.....what's the word...vauge? i dunno seems very 'unlikely' to run 10s with just that, lol, with no other supporting mods (MBC...intake...fuel pump, injectors, etc.) besides, a built head is also vauge, built with what? ask for more information, and if he wants 3300, i'd make himi...
damn i forgot what kind of bulbs i put in there (it was 2 years ago) but they were special ordered and they shine red, the ones that where in it when i got it where a clear bulb with a red rubber thing over it, wtf.lol the heat had faded it back to white by the time i got it.
yea i've no complaints with the law or inspection with them, i had to spend some time searching for some VERY red bulbs, and paid a decent amount for them as well.i guess everyone is slack here in NC.But hey if my turbo blows i guess i know where i can get the money to fix it. lol.
Hey guys, just swapped my clear tails from my silver rs to the black gst...i know alot of you guys aren't fans of such, but just curious to hear some opinions...http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa27/Got_Eclipse/newtails.jpg
I bough a GS-T that had an 'evo III 16g' in it. wasn't sure or not so i pulled off the intake to take a look at the turbo and this is what the label said...Turbocharger
Mist DSM EVO III
TD05H
Serial No. M20601584I had read that 16g's ending in 52,42, or 47, depending on weather...
alright just making sure, I know I sound stupid, lol. But it was just worrying me...and last stupid question is...it's ok to just pull the valve cover off and put it back on like that? i've never messed with an actual motor so I'm super paranoid/cautious.
Melloeclipse, the top red circle is your cam angle sensorshouldn't something be there then besides a plate? i thought CASs were kinda dome shapped? this is a flat plate?
it would seem so..it was a rebuilt engine when i bought it, so i guess the f'ed it up putting everything back together. so i just need to pick up a valve cover and replace?...also what about the block-offed looking thing, i thought that was a CAS?? but i'm not sure at all.
ok so yea here's the picture...the blue stuff are oil leaks...the arrows are there because it looks like the oil is spraying out that direction?!the others are just puddles of oil that seem to be coming from the spark plug area...but for the question i'm mainly asking...the red circle on...
yea crank walk is so over done nowadays, it's almost like a urban legend. when i bought my gst the guy said it had crankwalked, but the truth was it spun a bearing. he proceeded to rebuilt the 7bolt with forged everything, so i guess i'll see how that goes.but yes compression...
walbro 190lph or a walbro 255lph are the weapons of choice, and price is about the same, but i believe if you get a 255lph pump you HAVE to have a FPR also...
the 25 psi spike only happened once...and then 23 psi only happened twice because i wasn't paying attention. other than than i don't let it go above 15-16...is there something else i should be worried about?
i'll have to test it tomorrow...would a boost spike up to 25ish cause it to malfuction like that? I don't know about wastegates so I'm fixing to start researching them, thanks for the help.
So I had a thread a while back about how after I installed my air intake, that my boost shot up to 23 psi.I took my manual boost controller off and just ran a hose from the j-pipe to the wastegate nipple, and still boosted at 23 psi. no kinks, no leaks, so is my wastegate fried?
lol, this thread is funny.Anyway, I have a Evo3 16g with a MBC, intake, 1g Bov, and stock fuel everything and I was running 14 psi with no problem (I say was because now i can't control my boost and it shoots up to 23psi, but that's for another thread coming up....MBC i supsect.)
I'm not trying to be an ass, but you really need to read up more, or get a better idea of your goals? As stated, get a logger (palm pilot, plug, and software are only like 150 bucks or less) so you can at least see what's going on, and (as stated) don't trust your blinky lights.
yea it's just the arm because the passanger's work. i was driving in the rain and just happened to notice my drivers side wiper was hanging off the side of the car. (and sorry i wasn't really trying to make it a WTB) :thumb:
so my driver's side windshield wiper isn't working. i wondered why, thought maybe the motor was fried on it so i start to take it apart...and i noticed where the arm is connected to the motor, it's threaded so it'll grab. well the arm itself is smooth now, so is that why it's not working? i...
i haven't even looked it in 2 days but in the morning i'm checking the actuator fitting for clearence...lol and i didn't ignore that, but you know how you read things and they just don't register sometimes? that happened. i've been out of it a few days with everything, maybe i'm going insane.
i say it's the MBC because it's hooked up right, however twisting it either way (all the way in, or all the way out) doesn't make any change in boost.any other suggestions besides that? it just seems to be the only thing that it could be.
me either....def. need to uh, not do that? :)but seriously yea, make sure you have the right still installed so you can tell what's going on. I couldn't imagine knowing the only reason i messed up my motor was because i didn't have something as simple as a boost gauge..
ah see i wondered if it was a 'blown' MBC as well...but wasn't sure.I think i just may replace the MBC all together, since i don't know what kind is on there now as it came with the car when i bought it. I guess i'll just pick a new one up sometime and just take it easy for a while.
