You do not understand what fuses are supposed to do. Fuses are to be the "weak link" in a circuit so if something fails and draws too much current, the fuse will pop and open the circuit. You need to find/fix the failed component, putting a stronger fuse in is BAD. The cheap and replacable fuse...
The hose is stuck on the pipe from being so old. If possible squirt some WD-40 (or equivalent) into the ends of the hose to try and loosen that seal. Once the clamps are removed, TWIST the hose where it meets the pipe, do not pull, and it should eventually break lose.
I have no experience with the Felpro Intake gasket. Any reputable gasket should work as long as both surfaces (intake and head) are cleaned of the old gasket material and the fasteners are properly torqued. No RTV needed.
Just a quick note: 1g "big brakes" have screw in brake lines and 2g "big brakes" have banjo bolts. Try to get a set that matches your car so you do not have to get special brake lines. If you mismatch them, I believe RRE sells hybrid lines.
Yes, you have to relieve the fuel pressure in the line before changing your filter. If you crack any fitting in the fuel system while its pressurized, fuel will spray everywhere. Very dangerous. Consult a service manual for the correct procedure, but generally it involves unplugging/disabling...
Post #9 is correct (The pic with the word balloons). Everything else is wrong. In the thermostat housing:
1.The coolant temp sensor is the one thats involved in starting your car (two wires).
2. The temp gauge sensor is for the gauge cluster (single wire).
3. The thermo vacuum valve (F...
Just to clarify: You do not need to replace all of these parts. If the part is broken, then replace it obviously but #3,6,7 (the tensioners and idler) and hydraulic tensioner (that has no number, pic right) are the ones you have to replace.
Take that short section of pipe that the BOV is on with you to a hardware store and find some hose to fit it. (Or you can try your luck at the auto parts store with random radiator hoses.) Either way, it will be a 'custom' job but it will work.Put an air filter on that MAF! Slap the...
I would venture the guess that you are going to have to make a custom wiring harness to hook into your brakes and reverse lights. On the car, you will have to tap the stock wiring and terminate the wires with a connector that will hook up to the trailer lights.
I have successfully soldered those tabs back on. It was difficult because I did not remove the hatch. I pretty much soldered upside down, and it took awhile to get a good connection. It doesn't look pretty, but it works.
Congrats on the successful journey. I have driven my 91 turbo Laser from eastern South Dakota to Las Vegas and back. It was in summer and like you, I had no AC! It was a fun trip and the laser made it through the plains, mountains, and dessert in 22 straight hours of driving (1400 miles one...
It sounds like your ignition switch, it sounds like its stuck in the "run" position. Try this simple test: After removing your key let the car run and pull the fuse to cut the engine. Now put the fuse back in, do your accessories still run (like your key was turned to the "run" position)? If...
It looks like a condenser. I have no idea why it was on your alternator; I have never seen one there. Was it hooked up to anything or just hanging there?
Check a service manual for the correct plug gap. Turbo 4g63 is 0.28-.032, but the galant gsx is a NA 4g63. I do not know if they're the same, can some NA guys chime in?
I believe I live three miles from the owner. Outside of Garretson? I have seen it sitting in his yard on nice days. I would say he could get $3,500-4,500 if he found a buyer that knew what they were looking at. I do not know if he could get that price locally. The 60k service may impact the...
Your car will cut the cruise control once the brake or the clutch pedal is depressed. The brake cut is so you can stop in an emergency and the clutch cut is so you don't rev to the moon if you tried to shift with the throttle open. There is a button/switch that gets depressed once you press...
That is your vapor canister for your emission/recirc system. From the photos, it appears that all the emission vacuum lines have been removed so you dont need the vapor canister BUT make sure that all the vacuum lines ports have been plugged properly.
Hold on Chief, you are not in that big of a mess. Your main concern is the injector issue; once that is taken care of worry about the manifold.First thing: contact the person who did the swap and ask them about the ecu. Like stated above, your injectors have to match your ecu. Since you...
I assure you that this is a proud day for you and the crx community as you have successfully ressurected a thread after NEARLY five years to add your personal scent to this ancient pissing match.I see that this is your first post, and since it has been wasted, I suggest that you read (and...
I have had crazy misfire/bucking/hesitation issues due to a faulty TPS before. The problems would always occur around 3-4k in 2nd or 3rd gear too. Most people don't think of it as the culprit but I have had TWO go bad; one time it threw a CEL and the other time it did not.Do you have a...
You have confirmed that you have fuel and spark but do you have compression? You need all three and you need them in the right order. Here are a few suggestions (in no particular order):1. Try doing a compression test (in your case it has to be a cold one).
2. Have you checked how your...
I have my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and my masters degree in Structural Engineering. Currently I am an instructor at South Dakota State University. This fall I taught Statics. Want some help Wangboy and Tonster;)? I did just finish writing my final...
WHERE DAT AT??Well, grammar can be found in the english language and the fuel kit can be found at Street Tuned Motorsports (STM). They're a vendor on this site.STM - Street Tuned Motorsports.com - Rochester NY
I think the misconception comes from the Dodge Daytona being closely related to the Chrysler Laser during the mid 80's. The Dodge Daytona was produced up into the early 90's but the Chrysler Laser was dropped around 87. A few years after dropping the Chrysler Laser the Plymouth Laser was born...
I would not recommed using an oil filter o-ring as a replacement for the oil cooler o-ring. The oil filter o-ring is designed for a life of a few thousand miles and the actual oil cooler o-ring is designed to last much longer.
Doing a side by side comparison with an OEM o-ring, they may...
I believe you are talking about the engine hanger not a heatshield. It is used to remove the engine from the car. You attach your hoist to the "4th hole for a big bolt" as you have described. There is also another hanger inbetween the TB and the CAS.You can get along without it but if...
+1 to the routine maintenance. Changing all that stuff will have an impact on your fuel economy. I used to get about 28 mpg with a healthy city/highway mix of driving in my turbo fwd Laser. You can unplug the fuel pump in the trunk. Then cranking the motor over relieves the fuel...
If the axles are in decent shape and are compatible, I could pick one up for $15 too. I will give them a call tomorrow and see if they will walk into the yard to check the build date for me. Im out of town on work for the week so I couldn't pull the parts until this weekend or the next.
Why the window AND door handle? You must of had one clever crook. I live a few miles from a junkyard that has a black 95 talon TSI AWD. I do not know the build date but I am positive it still has the passenger glass and handle. The glass would be $12.50 and the handle $7.50. Let me know if...
When I was looking into getting a NA throttle body bored out to use in a turbo application I was told by the guys at O2 Induction that you need to get the NA TB machined so it can accept the turbo shaft seals.
You lose torque through the extension due to the extension twisting. So the torque the wrench is set too when it clicks isn't the torque that is applied to the fastener when using an extension. IIRC it is about 10% loss per inch of extension.Anyway, I have a 1/2 inch torque wrench...

The axles (the nuts in particular) may be a pain to get off. As stated before you need a 32 mm socket and I would recommend a hefty breaker bar and some pb blaster (or equivalent) to help free the little buggers. Air tools are great for this but not absolutely necessary.Make sure to pick...
The only thing getting fooled is you. The ECU codes will reset but you will get the same error codes once it realizes the O2 sensor is still unhooked. Change your front O2 sensor (or hook it back up) like everyone is suggesting you do. What is the point of asking for advice if youre not going...
Find an axle to fit your rear end. In 1992 they switched from a 3 bolt to a 4 bolt rear end (the # of bolts refer to the axle cups). The 4 bolt axles are larger in diameter. If the said axle is for a 94 then its a 4 bolt, figure out what you have and order the respective axle.
You cant jigsaw plexi, it will most likely break. Run it through a table saw or a band saw. Get some lexan, you can jigsaw, drill, and bend it with no problems. Find a local commercial glass shop and they will probably give you a scrap of lexan for free.
I have always used cardboard to make templates. Cardboard is cheap and easily modified. Just keep making/refining the cardboard cutouts of your radio bezel until you have one you are satisfied with and then use that to cut your plexi :thumb:.
