  1. Would you recomend a DSM to a new driver?

I would recommend a DSM to anyone who has the money to fix it. ;)
  2. For Rice Lovers only!!!

Sorry. I wasn't trying to come off negative, I just don't see the point in the thread. I mean, I could make a thread with pictures of cars I like also, but it seems pointless. Ask a question, give a comment or opinion, something productive, ya know? To each his own I guess.
  3. 4ws can it be done................

Personally, I think the amount of time, effort, and money would greatly outweigh the performance increase.
  4. anyone else have lower honeycomb problems? [Merged 10-6]

Although I have a different engine than you, removing the honeycombs from my MAS resulted in the engine running like complete isht. From what I understand, the MAS cannot function properly without them. It would stall when i came to a complete stop and the idle was very rough. I noticed a loss...
  5. place to get a cheap lcd?

5" screens are available on eBay for about $100, though they are low-end. If you want higher quality, you'll probably find yourself spending atleast double. You get what you pay for, I guess.
  6. For Rice Lovers only!!!

I could seriously care less about what is rice and what isn't, that should be evident being I never made comments on the actual cars. It's not the cars I have a problem with, it's your pointless thread. That's wonderful you enjoy "rice cars" and feel the need to share your pictures though...
  7. spyder strut tower bar?

I wouldn't go as far to say you don't need it. Even with the additional bracing from the factory...convertibles will ALWAYS flex alot more than a hard top, there's just no way around it.
  8. Can you heat a piece of your suspension to lower your car?

I agree. Results usually are a rough ride and/or uneven suspension. Don't skimp, do it right with actual lowering springs or coilovers.
  9. what to do? all opinions/suggestions wanted plz!

Screw insurance companys, we all sure know they do us.:mad:I just love how they charge us all this money each month, and then if you do happen to have to use it (ie, an accident) then they just make up for it by increasing your rate. What's up with that? What's the point of paying for...
  10. loud ticking???

Mine does the same thing at idle. Mits tech told me it was a bad solenoid and they replaced it. I never really noticed if it stopped, but I do know it's doing it again now. It doesn't seem to affect anything, and my music usually drowns it out, so I don't really worry about it anymore.
  11. best subwoofers? give your opinion

You would have to have a mini-van for the enclosure required to properly run two Kicker 18's. There's a huge difference in making a system "look" good and actually "sound" good.
  12. New idea...Need opinions

There's really not too many options being you need to have maximum airflow in that area for your radiator to function properly. Go to Home Depot and wander for awhile, use your imagination, maybe you'll find something useful.
  13. For Rice Lovers only!!!

What exactly is the point?
  14. New idea...Need opinions

I agree. Those things are obviously huge. ;)
  15. best subwoofers? give your opinion

Ok, well whoever told you an additional battery is going to prevent dimming, I would stay away from. An extra battery is only going to be beneficial when playing your system with your car turned off. With what you have, I would definetly upgrade your alternator (a much bigger one) and also...
  16. New idea...Need opinions

 :thumb:How true. Never throw stones when you live in a glass house (or something like that).
  17. bzzzzzing sound from injector area

I have the same noise, the Mits tech said it was a bad solenoid or something like that. They said they replaced it, but it still does it. It doesn't seem to be a problem though, so I'm not too worried about it. Mine only seems to make the noise when I'm idling at like a stop light or something.
  18. New idea...Need opinions

I've actually seen that done on an eclipse before. If I can find the picture I'll be sure to show you. You could probably have it down at a customs shop, but I would guess it would be pricey.
  19. which muffler to get?

Offset or center shouldn't really matter, whoever is doing your piping should be able to make either fit perfectly.
  20. Cracked my Bumper last night...

If you search around, I'm sure you can find an aftermarket bumper for about $200. (You might be able to find a used OEM one in your color, which shouldn't cost much more than $100.) Installation isn't really too hard if you have a free day to mess around with it. Otherwise, you could probably...
  21. AEM CAI with bypass valve

Personally speaking, I have a cold air intake with about 4" of ground clearence, being my car is lowered. I've never once had a problem with water in the intake and my cone filter is even open-top. I agree that it does take a signifigant amount to make a difference.
  22. Custom Ram Cold Air Intake

Bah, that's an old-wives tale. It's never been proven. I strongly believe that there is in fact a difference in cold air induction and just a simple ram air.
  23. Cracked my Bumper last night...

I'm not sure if the OEM bumpers can be patched. They are more of a urethane material which is un-repairable. I would go with a whole new/used bumper (aftermarket or OEM). The whole project shouldn't be more than a few hundred bucks. Just please stay away from blitz. There's alot more...
  24. best subwoofers? give your opinion

I'm just wondering how your car's electrical system (unless you've upgraded) handles this amount of power? I have about 1000 watt total system and my lights dim noticeably with the volume turned up. I can just imagine what double that would do...
  25. Help! My Sound System Went Bad!

Try taking a functioning one out and hooking it up to the left, see what happens. If it works, then it's the actual speakers. If it doesn't, then it's your HU or amp (if you have one). I'm assuming you've already checked your balance controls on the HU?
  26. looking to make the ride quality better

I agree, but I was assuming he wants a drop as most people do. The point I was trying to make was that lowering springs usually provide a much smoother ride than coilovers. Higher profile tires will absorb shock better as well. I went from 205/40/17's to 215/45/17's and noticed an...
  27. Whining?

do you mean "whining"?;) Have you checked your belts?
  28. 98 Gs-t or 98 3000GT

If you want to get into racing and tuning, I would defiently go with the GST because of its potential. Otherwise, I would stick with the 3kgt for styling and status.
  29. looking to make the ride quality better

If you're looking for a smooth ride, stay away from cheap coilovers, go with lowering springs and get a nice set of shocks.
  30. Anyone have a Website where they sell Hi Perfomance Coolant Hoses (the colored ones)?

I've seen them in JC Whitney Sport Compact. Go to www.jcwhitney.com and search from there.
  31. Want to check out a Ferrari front end on an eclipse!

It's unique. Seems a bit impractical to me though.
  32. BS or not BS? Radiator Fluid.

Go to WalMart and pick up a flush kit and some antifreeze, do it yourself if you're worried about it for less than $10.
  33. Where to buy inexpensive wheels?

I'll second www.WheelMax.com . They are a great company to deal with, awesome prices and awesome selection. Their "Specials" section can't be beat. I got my 17's there and am very happy with them.
  34. what color rims

No question about it, silver is ALOT easier to keep clean than white. Personally, I would go with silver. It will always be in style.
  35. 170 miles per tank?

I'll have to agree that the gauges must not be very accurate. Last night, my gauge was below "E" and the gas light even came on. When I filled up, it only took a little over 12 gallons.A lot does have to do with your gas mileage though. Air filter, plugs, fluids, tire pressure, driving...
  36. grills?

Cheap alternative: Go to Home Depot and get some stainless steel gutter guard, cut your length, zip tie it in, presto chango...you have a grill. You could even paint it if you wanted to get fancy. Total price: Less than $5.
  37. best subwoofers? give your opinion

Online. You can usually find prices as much as 50% less online. It's really amazing actually. Check out the www.SoundDomain.com forums for some of the best places online to buy from.
  38. is Dynamat worth it?

I would first make sure all your speakers are tight and secure. Then, pinpoint the location of the rattling and only dampen those areas at first. It will most likely require a few tests and additions before you get everything perfect. If it's a flat, easy to access area, then use a couple...
  39. My Future Exterior mods

Not bad. I think it looks very clean. Where are you planning on getting that spoiler from?
  40. Flame Thrower Exhaust...................

    Then don't post, uh duh...
  41. best subwoofers? give your opinion

Rockford Fosgate actually owns and produces Lightning Audio. Kind of low-end products, but they're decent. Trust me, Best Buy & Circuit City are NOT the places to get "quality" car audio equipment. And their so called "pro" installers are usually pathetic teenagers. I use to work there and I...
  42. 170 miles per tank?

Well actually the tank is probably different on AWD....**edit** According to www.Edmunds.com, the AWD tank is 15.9 gallons.
  43. 170 miles per tank?

I beleive it's about 16-16.5 gallons. That's some awful gas mileage you're getting there.
  44. venom 400

Honestly, I can't remember the exact link of detailed instructions on the govenor removal, but it exists. Post a new thread asking and I'm sure someone will know. Topping out at 106 mph is a new one to me though, I've never seen that before. As far as the Apexi S-AFC, it's basically an...
  45. test pipe ?

I've had a test pipe installed for about 3 months now and have never once seen a CEL. I wouldn't worry about it.
  46. Oh geeze, those damn lights

Check out e-Bay for some projectors. I got mine for $205 shipped and they fit & look great. Even better, I sold my OEM headlights for the same price, so I didn't end up paying a dime!
  47. Flame Thrower Exhaust...................

Did you not read the entire rest of the thread which already discussed the "comparison" to F&F
  48. is Dynamat worth it?

Ummm, that's not exactly how it works. Any sound damper makes the surface you apply it to more dense. It slows the sound waves down, preventing vibration. Can't say I've heard many cases of "rattling wires". It's well worth it if you're planning on competing or are just looking for...
  49. venom 400

Are you talking about a govenor at 106mph? If so, it's possible to remove it. Beside that, if you're planning on some major engine work, I would probably look into an Apexi AFC. If you don't want to turbo the car, then build the engine up so you can push something like a 100 shot of nitrous...
  50. 4g63 in a civic?

I believe it was an Integra LS tranny. Basically, all it had was the swap, intake, exhaust, vtec controller, and a few other minor mods and I personally witnessed him blow the doors off (several car lengths) brand new mustang GT's. Now, keep in mind that's n/a. The owner is a poor white boy...
