Well, Memphis was a blast as well. Not as many show cars at St Louis but this was the first year in Memphis and I think it will do nothing but grow from here. There were tons of cool cars and in fact there were actually some really nice show cars there. There was some really good racing but...
If anyone here is in the memphis area and has a 23 spline transfer case they are willing to sell please let me know. We need this xfer case for Mike Reichen. If your in Memphis and have one you can spare just come on down to NOPI because Mike needs it ASAP please.Thanks.
John,I was down on the track in St Louis shooting this year and I got some decent pics of your car. I think one or two of them are herewww.siimports.com/NOPI/I have more and if you want them just let me know and I'll email you a link to full sized copies for you to download. I'm...
I thought NOPI was a blast and I plan to go again to the Memphis show and possibly some of the others as well. If you get a chance I recommend going. Tons of cool cars, cool events, and really cool people.Well this was my first time actually doing a show this big. Generally I was unhappy...
FYI I went to this show and it was a great time even with 120 degree heat index. I didn't have my car there but I took tons of pics. I'll have some pics of the event if anyone is interested. I have to wait until I hear back from a couple of publications but I'll post them up soon.Point...
The red indicates if you leave too soon. Don't worry about this light. It only applies if your actually competing in heads up or bracket racing. Your timer will activate the minute you leave the lights. You'll still get a time, you just might not be eligable for track bonuses. Like here we...
Also I noticed that you don't have Dyno Dynamics listed in dyno options. The list is a cool idea Chris. The only problem I see is with people from Dyno Dynamics dyno's posting thier numbers because in most cases DD dyno's read much lower.
The biggest thing is to not brake boost for more than about 10-15 seconds at most! The less time the better. Don't worry about the tree. If you have to red light. You'll still get a timeslip which is all that matters in the end isn't it? Also make sure after your run you give the tranny...
Gotta go with everyone else. Do the fuel mods. That way your ready for the new turbo when it comes time. Sucks to forget the little things when your ready for a turbo upgrade.
Brake boosting is the only real way to launch an A/T DSM effectively. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know much about A/Ts. I had over 150 passes on my Level 10 with not a single failure with the car. On another note you stock A/T DSM tranny should be good for 300-350hp depending on how well...
No, when I say lopey I mean some people find it uncomforatable but others don't. For example. When my car is down at about 800rpms... my wife may not like to sit and feel the lope but it doesn't phase me one bit. Same goes for the 272s. Some people might think that it's just enough to be...
Your biggest enemy is heat. I personally never "brake boosted" for more than 10-15 seconds. Anything more and your building some serious heat and risking the tranny. I know because I've done it. I was staged at a tree for over 30 seconds because some moron screwed up and like an ipatient...
That time is not that uncommon. I have an AWD A/T Tsi and when I ran the car at the track the first time I ran a 15.7 with a cat back and intake only. The closer to stock your A/T is the more it sucks. You have to remember that the AWD has the advantage of good 60ft times. A luxury you don't...
"Lopey" is a matter of opinion. Some people think that when the car gets under 1000K rpm that there is a Lope to the feel of the car. I never said there was ANY idle problems with the cams. "Lope" is a common thing that happens with larger cams and it has nothing to do with poor timing. Some...
I'm a big fan of numbers so here it goes...1. DSMLink. Good for racing and pretty much plug and play. I don't know what a frank stage 3 turbo is but I do know that with just a 20G and cams I was able to put down 335hp@ 20 psi on pump gas. With the link you might be able to mess with the...
Cams are a nice addition to just about any setup but ask yourself this... Do you want to spend 400-600 dollars on that when you should think about traction at this point. Are you going for good track times or just all around power? If you don't go to the track much then sure go for the cams...
You don't need anything more than you would for a MT DSM. I had a FMIC on my 95 and that is all I used. The A/T DSM has the tranny cooler on the drivers side if I'm not mistaken. Sure upgrading it is a good idea but not necessary.
You really only have the word of the seller combined with the feedback to give you that info. Look at people who have bought similar items from the seller and see what they said. Buying locally has the advantage of you having someone to hollar at if you get a sub par piece.
You have a 95 so unless someone changed the motor then you have a 7 bolt. Thing to note about the 95-96 motor to make it easy to identify. You will not have a Cam Angle Sensor on the left side of your valve cover. The 95-96 CAS is located under the cam gear.
Be careful running prothane motor mounts with slicks. That seems like a lot of shock to the driveline. If your rarely going to go to the track I would see if you could find someone to let you borrow a set of slicks.
I boosted off the line for over a year with the stock TC. It's not great and when you start putting down real power it is a PIA. The key with it is to reduce heat. Heat is what kills an A/T. If your power braking at the line do not do it for more than 15 seconds at a time at the MOST! You...
A/T crankwalk is rare. Unless you own a big shop I doubt you would be able to name more than five people who have walked an A/T. They don't load the crank in the same manner as a manual transmission. I made the mistake of thinking that my A/T was walked for over a year and when I finally got...
They usually make quality stuff. I bought two hoods from them and I have a buddy who has one as well. I would contact them about it because a company that makes that caliber of product should be willing to stand behind a bad piece
OK I'll back up mine with thishttp://www.dsmtimes.org/awd.htmFind me the oodles of 50 trims making better times than the 11.2 the 20G is making in this list. I know this is not the only list but it is a damn good referrence.
OK here is a simplified way of putting it. The timing belt controls the valve timing to ensure that the valves open and close in conjunction with the pistons, and ignition timing. No you can't just pop off the belt because you have to replace the tensioner and water pump at the same time...
No, if you want to run at the drag strip you might get away with that one but you need to have a snell 2000 approved helmet. I would expect to spend between $75-$300 for a good helmet. I paid $125 for mine and it is approved for the drag strip but AutoX will not allow it, but I wanted a full...
My wifes 95 A/T FWD ran 13.8@[email protected] little bit of info. Warren C Daniel is listed on Russ Coxes' page as running 13.2 but he was actually one of the first (if not the first) 2G A/T FWD to post a sub 12 second timeslip. It used to be on the times page and on Warrens home page...
RMDSM is the way to go. I have it on both my FWD and my AWD. BTW it is the RS models that do not have a rear sway bar. Also you can buy them direct from RER NETWORKING and avoid the middle man.http://www.rernetworking.com/rmdsm/stabilizerbars.html
Avengers and Sebrings share a very similar engine bay to the DSM. In fact the cars are very very similar period. To put a turbo motor of any kind is going to take some fabrication on your end no matter what the motor is. It's not impossilble, just time consuming.
Whats rice about it? What if the person wants neon on thier car and doesn't care about performance as much? To me it's a hell of a lot more "rice" to make fun of someones preferrence when you don't have a fast car yourself.Advice: Take two steps back and respect everyones preferrences...
Not so easy on a 2G. Also just because a turbo only has 1000 miles on it does not mean it's a great deal. Remember 1000=4000 1/4 mile passes. Go with the EVO 16G.
