Not sounding good. I'd say you'll have to dig into the motor to find out what is damaged. Others may have different suggestions? What did you mean by the statement "I only had 2 qts of oil in the engine when I got it"?
Oil capacity should be like 4.5 qts.
Welcome. I've found it handy to have 2 cars around when working on one. We used to refer to mine as the prototype when working on my buddy's car. We would check mine any time there was a question about how something went back together.
Welcome. I've had my 90 TSi since 2000. Got it wholesale before the auction for $1,200 though. Was in excellent mechanical condition with "low" miles of 137,000
I'd be checking spark. Sounds to me you may have at least 1 cylinder not firing correctly which would flood the cylinder with unburnt fuel which would end up in the oil. Pull each plug and see if they are burning clean or dripping fuel. I would also test if each plug is firing properly. If a...
You could maybe try draining oil and filling cylinders with marvel mystery oil. Let it sit at least overnight and see if it gets things moving by hand cranking. This is assuming nothing is mechanically damaged, ie. Valves, rods, etc. It's an old hotrodder trick for seized engines...
I'm thinking fuel filter, dirty injectors or ecu. Have you checked or tested the injectors? Here is a video of a simple method. The random nature makes me wonder if ecu.
Fender may be fixable but might not be worth the effort if a replacement is cheap enough. You may have to fiddle with the popup headlight alignment a little as well. Years ago I did i 180 uphill on a 2 lane in the snow to avoid a 6' dropoff and just skimmed a guard rail. No body damage but...
Welcome. You should be off to a good start with the 6 bolt. As mentioned, general maintenance should be your starting point. After this i would look into an accurate aftermarket boost gauge, cat back exhaust, higher flow air filter setup, wideband 02 sensor, exhaust gas temp sensor (pyrometer)...
I'm in a similar boat. I've had my car since 2000 and replaced and upgraded many parts on the car as well as repainted it. Since then it's been sitting for nearly 10 years. Other cars have come and gone but the Talon still remains. After serious consideration of selling it i'm now in the process...
