You can have a lot of voltage, and still have no amperage, if you are only getting 4.5 amps you have a bad alternator, eaven if the battery is bad, if you don't fix the problem when this stuff occurs it will kill your ecu in the process if the caps are weak. Have fun replacing your alt. because...
A word to the wise, See you see, if you go to Auto Zone a ecu is 199.00 plus tax but the problem is that you can never get one quickly from them, on the other hand they are a quite bit more expensive at you Advance auto parts, they are both Cardone rebuilt ecu's, and you can tell Advance to...
If you put a ecu in it and the car run fine, that tells you "BAD" ecu. In all honesty, i have tried a lot of ecu's and a e-prom ecu does not run as well as a 93 tsi ecu, unless you are just wanting that stutter or other burnt chips i suggest you find a 93 ecu and try it.
I have a 92 tsi AWD and it has a cracked exhaust housing, and the car was building pressure in the radiator and blowing all the water out like a bad head gasket would do, but to find out, the turbo when under boost would put pressure in the water line to the turbo building pressure in the...
First question, does your dip stick blow out when the car is run hard? If so it could be a hole in your piston etc, you could do a compression test but if your car has a lot of miles this is just kinda common.l
First question, is your car a five speed or a automatic transmission? If it is a automatic it could be a torque converter, if not that it could be a rear balance shaft 180 degree out.
A correct way of doing this is to use a hot wire relay system to the pump, here is how this is done.Run a wire back from the battery, as if you were putting in a stereo amplifier with a 15 amp fuse inline. Then take a 30 amp relay for fog lamps etc and put on the pump. Hook the hot wire...
i just sold an automatic 92 tsi awd with a 5 speed ecu in it and the only problem i could find, is that when you are at full throttle the car was so rich that it fell on its face, compared to a roll into throttle response, i changed the injectors and the car ran sweet. but on the other hand i...
See, the clicking is the fuel pump relay and it will click if the ecu is not sending enuf volts to close the relay, and the reason is the caps are bad, but replacing the caps might fix the problem, but for the most part, there is usually more bad than just the caps. I can tell you this, if you...
Just because you replaced the caps, don't mean it will fix this problem, why don't you go and find a friend who will let you borrow a ecu and se if it fixes your problem.
I would bet you have a open atmosphere bov don't you? The bov is probably leaking and the mass air is detecting that and trying to correct the problem. Let me know if you don't have a open atmosphere bov and i will go from there.
Your car might be backing the timing off because you are trying to run too much boost. The average boost you can run on 93 pump gas is 16-17 psi and you might want to try hooking your factory boost controller back up and see what happens.
If you have a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, you might want to check your fuel pressure, not all dsm's run at the same fuel pressure. Some injectors work better with a higher fuel pressure setting, around 40, and some like 35. This will cause a major leaning out problem, and you may want...
well pull off the timing belt cover fiirst, and if the timing belt is turning, you have a bad ecu, or fuel pump. If the belt is not turning, you have a broken, or stripped belt..
:) Well, if you think about it for a minute, what controlls boost? If you have a bad boost controller this spike problem will happen. Try taking your boost controller off and see what happens. If it is still spiking it would probably be a bad wastegate or a hole in your vacuum line to either...
Well the problem with your car would be your ECU. The clicking sound you are hearing is your fuel pump relay. Replace the ECU and you will be on your way to a good day. This is a common problem in GST's .. and to the person who responded there is no such thing as a GST in 89,90,91 they need...
