Nice runs Tracy! It certainly sounds like the car is starting off in 2nd gear to me, but if you are already having traction problems there may not be much advantage to starting in 1st.
I've been running a FP3052 on my A/T car for about a year and a half. At the track the car runs 10's all day. With the Hughes re-stalled OEM converter I could not build more than 3psi/3200rpm from a stop. Now I am running a Sinister Speed 8" core 2 and can launch at 15+psi and 4200rpm...
On the hunt for 9's I've been considering upgrading my current turbo (FP3052) to a billet comp wheel. There are a few options, including: 3076HTA or GTX, or the 3582HTA or GTX. My MAIN concern is that my hotside is significantly restricting performance above 6000rpm. Here is some good dyno...
It was great to see so many DSM's! I didn't realize Jake had swapped to auto. Nice win! It was cool to meet him too. I think the DSM that took 2nd in FI Pro was a 5-speed 1g.I took 2nd place in FI Sport, margin of 0.042. I had issues pulling thru the brakes while staging. I have my...
A friend of mine is a manager at a local Discount Tire. He went to an exhibition where drivers were allowed to drive new Mustangs with a number of different tires. He swears that the BFG Comp-2 was the best performing tire under $200.Careful when choosing tire size with those wheels. I...
Did you or Brandon put this motor together?? I'm still running the motor I bought from you guys a few years ago! I think it's Tyrone's old motor. The short block had already been in a 35R car and I think you freshened up the head. Thanks so much!!I've ran as much as a "75 shot". It's a...
Hey guys! I'm still loving the auto trans for drag racing! This was my 3rd win in a row at the home track. Cliff also let me play the National Anthem on my sax to kick off the eliminations which was cool. Still on the same setup as Vegas...
No kidding! Last weekend qualifying at IFO I went [email protected] on much smaller turbo (FP3052) and less boost (only 25psi :D ) with a Sinister Speed 8" core 2 converter. With a poor DA too: 85 degree weather and 3100ft elevation.Comparing my setup to the OP:

No nitrous...
I'm running just over 50lb/min on stock ignition. NGK BR7ES I had to gap them down to .020 If I opened the gap beyond .025 she started breaking up. This is on E85 and 30+psi boost. I have seen guys logging over 60lb/min on stock ignition though, so as you said, there are a lot of factors.
Sounds like the temp sensor is working correctly showing 186, so that's not it. There is no reason to tune to 9.7 afrs. That's a waste of fuel and will ruin spark plugs in a hurry. Tuning for 11.0 afrs is better and still on the rich side. Can you post your tune and log on here? I don't...
Do you have a budget? Ideal timeline? You're going to need a timing kit and a good clutch kit. There are a lot of choices out there for the clutch especially, take your time finding the right one for you! To really take advantage of the turbo, you may want to invest in cams too, but that can...
Yes, with the head off you can rotate the crank to TDC. Use the crank pulley to make sure it lines up with "0" on the lower timing cover. Once the head is done put the cams back in with the dowels pointing upward (the dowels for the cams to the cam gears). The exhaust cam will want to turn on...
I'm not sure what could cause the bogging. For the shifting between 1st and 2nd though, check the TCU. Open it up and smell the board. If it smells fishy, there is probably a bad capacitor. You can also visually inspect the TCU by looking for corrosion or burn marks on the board (especially...
Just to give you an idea on where the timing should be... If you are making 600whp I assume you are running about 30psi. When full boost comes in (around 5000 rpm let's say), timing should be around 0*-4* and go up to 10*-15* by redline. These are conservative BALLPARK numbers from what I've...
Those spliced in wires might be from an old turbo timer or alarm. Did you repair the burned wires? Or at least check to see if you have power to them? And I assume you checked the fuse if you checked the relay..
The auto is not terribly difficult to rebuild, but it is easy to mess up if you are not careful! And messing up means it doesn't work and possible damage. Just saying, if you don't have much experience is all.The end clutch is a pretty easy job, but I believe that will only help you in...
Hola, does anyone have experience with the cheaper brass sensor? Are they are accurate/reliable as the more expensive "Bosch" types?Cheap brass: AEM Brass MAP Sensor Kit - Modern Automotive PerformanceTraditional Bosch: Aem Electronics 30 2130 75 Map Sensor Bosch Style 5 Bar Each |...
Hah yeah, I've been friends with Noah for years. I think he is UofACATS on here. We do have very similar mods, but he has the 2.3L (I'm 2.0) and his car is a 2g. I'll PM you my number. Maybe I can help you with the tune.
Hey Tucson DSMs,Here's the calendar for the local drag strip. I'll certainly be at the the 10/4 Test n tune, 10/12 AZ's Fastest Street Car, and Import Face-Off on 10/20.Hoping to break into the 9's! Come say hello! I'm in the blue 1gb GSX with the crazy hood.Schedule:

The episode of PINKS All Out I was on is still free on Hulu. It is season 2 episode 1 from Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson, AZ. My car is only shown in the last half. LOL at the huge grin on my face in the 2nd race when I pass the Nova.
Congrats on the new addition to the family!!I am running BC 280 cams. I don't NEED nitrous to get on the converter, but the DA and cam timing has a lot to do with it. In Washington it was easy to stall up without nitrous. In Tucson (elevation ~3100ft) on a hot day it's not as easy, so I...
Hi all,I'm hoping to get a couple ideas for seats for my street/strip car. I have done some searching but didn't find anything super recent. If I understand correctly, NHRA rules say that your seat must be fixed (no reclining or sliders) if you are running faster than 11.0. Is that right...
Isn't Ostrich free? It's almost as good as a standalone. Much better than an SAFC for sure!Coming from experience, 1200cc injectors are not going to work well with just a piggyback (like SAFC, etc). The might run, but the timing maps are going to be off. In order to take advantage of...
Let us know how that Godspeed radiator works for you. I would not buy another Godspeed product personally. The radiator I bought did not fit at first (had to grind down both sides), and did not cool as well as an OEM radiator (living in Tucson, it was easy to tell). It is HIGHLY...

After winning IFO in Tucson and Vegas, it was time to road trip up to the Pacific Northwest to face some SERIOUS competition!! And I have to say, there are a lot of great people in the scene up there. It was nice meeting you all! Racing alongside English Racing and Speed Factory cars was like...
I'm running a "600hp" intercooler from Slowboy Racing. It looks like a nice bar and plate core (iirc Slowboy used Garrett cores) and the core measures 24"x10.5"x3"
I am running AEM EMS speed density. Temp sensor is GM and installed after the intercooler, about 10 inches before the throttle body. When logging a 1/4 mile or dyno pull, AIT starts around 100F (heat soaked), then climbs lineraly up to 150-160 by the end.
I searched a bit but couldn't find much.
My AIT's going through the traps are around 150-160F.
Track temps around 85-90F.
Running 30psi on a FP3052 (gt30R) turbo.
Are my AIT's decent?
Thanks!
