The trans is original as far as I know... but, I really don't. I don't know about the front pump thing either. Never seen that in the manual. Do you have reference for this?
During the course of the summer I got a car 93 FWD AUTO from a friend who knew little to nothing about these cars. He told me the trans was gone... It seem to make the slight shifting noise but never engages. Free revs in any gear. The car looks real good and runs even better so... After looking...
Vac prob. blocked P port on Throttle body... Compression low (?) rings not seated yet... only 6 miles.Thx for the responses, thought I'd state the solutions since so few do on here and no-one ever finds out the resolution to many issues they have too...
Ya see, I thought I had all this figured out... as far as setting the motor at TDC and setting the cams "straight up" I'm not sure what you mean... Other than that you said is my crank alligned as well. I assume you mean when I did the timing in which case yes it was. The only other thing I can...
Timing base is good, knew how from my 67 Camaro Build... Miles on the new motor, I'd figure run time better maybe 2 hours at most. Actual load miles 6 total. I have the marks lined up exactly. Hard to say though AEM cam gears in silver aren't the easiest to make out. I'll post a pic later to see...
Egh... looks like he tweeks the Valve a little bit... OMG The only way I knew which way the crank plate went back on was by looking at the debris shadow on the surface of the plate... Tech Tip: The best time to clean your parts is after they are installed. :thumb:
So I was just wondering... anyone know what type of compression numbers you could probably expect in a cylinder based on what ratio pistons you choose.Senario... Currently I have a Spankin new "Built" motor with Ross 8.5 : 1 @ .20 bore. In 3 & 4 I'm seeing a respectable 150 Psi on my Guage...
Turned out to be th O-ring on the fuel pump letting gas escape back downward into the tank... Wasn't creating enough pressure to even get through the FPR... Yea~ Driving again!
Leaks... fixed all that was making sound. I only have a little 10 gallon tank soo. I run out of pressure pretty fast. I found the majority of my leak was comming from the BOV itself... I changed the fuel filter a couple of weeks ago on a whim. Plugs look good gapped correctly. Getting gas for...
Got a tank, made a tester... Found a bad weld on my Bov flange so far, Gets to 5 psi according to my boost gauge b4 it leaks. Gettig it re-welded tomorrow, so I can continue to test, will keep ya posted.
Thx
:sosad: Well after several days of reading about, Boost leaks, ISC, MAF, TPS, I believe I have unique situation... About a week ago I pulled off my intake manifold to swap out a bad gasket which was leaking around the egr valve which has been blocked off. After reinstalling the new gasket I...
The 'P' outlet on the throttle body on the intake manifold (easiest)
The Fuel Pressure solenoid (best) according to VFAQ BTW~www.vfaq.com & http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/search.php Should try these first bro...
Does the throttle body not seal completely from the angle of the "butterfly"? If not I suppose depending on the duration of the cam, there is a moment when both intake and exhaust valves are open... if the throttle body does not stop the pressurized air from entering the intake, how is it kept...
alright... just wanted to throw this out there too not common but a possibility, Check you exhaust ground strap. Reason being, if you O2 sensor is getting ground from this stap but the strap is broken... consequently the O2 sensor would not be getting power, possibly causing the irratic idle...
How long have you had the car... How long have you had this issue... Reason I ask is because I had a similar problem. I noticed I had a 90 ECU in a 91 Car when I swapped the ECU with the 91 Eprom it stopped. I am certain the other ECU was good because I installed it in a 90 with a bad ECU and it...
Finally found a better post... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244376 Not entirely complete but should be able to figure it out from here...
Ok yes i know this is a real old post... i can't seem to find anything more than these responces to this same question, none of which were useful

I pulled my auto tranny to do the Swap... I did everything except I never found a tranny in decent shape so I am in the process of putting the auto back in... during the installation I noticed that the trans could be turned in all gears and park. the Torque COnverter is empty the trans is...
If you read what I said I, I was obviously talking about manual to auto. Don't F'in try to play that shit off you responded to what I had said, otherwise you wouldnt have made the comment about the pedals. You next post you replied to the other guy.
:tease:First I'd like to start off by saying I am sooo amused by people that try to downplay the knowledge of others in the attempt to make them look stupid and make themselves look all knowing. I didnt realize we were still in grade school once we started driving cars. If you would have...
Well, nothing DSM is easy except guzzlin Gas in turbos. But it is way easier than Auto / Man. You dont have to pull the pedals, shifting cables can be left and the other added relatively easily. No holes to make. The hardest part is the Harness and Diff. / Harness being the KeyI have a...
Great to see this write up still pulling intrest... I spent a lot of time doing this stuff, It nice to know it's appreciated.I'd like a picture of your friends engine bay... :)
There is a small polishing wheel that ROotozip makes it about 3 inches in diameter and fits in there pretty nicely... but, it will take a bit longer to do those.

I really hate to post just for a 1 line answer but, after doing 5 combinations of searches, I came up with diddley! So my question is... does anyone know what the combined weight of a 90-91 5 speed AWD transmission and transfer case would be?
This would be helpful when finding out what I...
Hey guys, thx for all the responces... It turned out it was the 2nd defective alternator from Autozone in 3 months... Funny they said "oh sounds like there is some other problem in the car that is causing the problem"... Well not the case when I put my alternator on from my build up motor...
You know I may have done that, untill I read the Link that said submit 3 quality how to's for 1 T-shirt... It just got me thinking that, you know we are the ones that make up the forum, and make them what they are... When we submit something that we've spent a LOT of time on, only from the...

The Video is clips from the dvd I put together, it's not like this during the "tutorial" as you state it. You can use the same techniques for almost any metal, Cast Iron will rust shortly after.
Glad you found it amusing. :)

OK... Here's a CRAZY sinario for ya... I replaced my alternator 2 days ago because it left me stranded 20 miles out in the country. I got the Autozone Liftime warranty special on 11/16/05, so roughly I got 2 months out of it. So the New one is in and Strangly when I get above 3700 RPM's the...
