my friend (he has a rx7) and i are currently considering transferring to the university of puerto rico: mayaguez. i have a couple questions about car stuff down there.. such as emissions, how the licenses work (points or no points). any help would be appreciated
i have a 99 gst spyder and while changing the oil today i saw that the oil pan was pretty dented up. i was wondering if that was going to be a big problem.. i have been driving for like 6,000 miles since the last time i checked it, and there are no leaks or tears. is this something that i need...
damn guys maybe this is why they never feature DSM's in the magazines... If I didn't know any better I would say that people who drive Eclipses are a bunch of assholes...Anyways the voltage stabilizer was only listed as an example because I saw it three or four different times. And if you...
Hey Luke let me just say something that I have been wanting to get off my mind about 'tuner' magazines. When I first started getting into cars I thought the magazines where awesome. I had a subscription to import tuner and I absolutely loved the section where you guys tested cars on the dynos...
lol at custom... anymore specifics? Like for the axles did you use the inner cv joint off a eclipse and an outer joint from a eclipse? What hubs do you have cause I see you have 5 lug? Or did you just go to a custom axle shop?
Ok so I have a million questions!what did you do for the tranny mount and rear mount?what did you do for engine management?what did you do for axles?what did you do for shift linkage?what did you do for the wiring harness?
i have a motorola Q and a lgvx9400 and i drive a 11 year old civic.. i can afford a iPhone, price is not an issue.. productivity is the issue. everything the iphone does, my Q does better (and the q is pretty dated technology now).. and if you are stuck on the fact it flips sideways, guess what...

i had an ebay datalogger with obdgauge that work intermittenly.. i don't know what the problem is, sold it and didn't hear any complaints from new owner
ok i wrecked my green spyder and i am now looking at purchasing a 95 tsi awd that has suffered crank walk. when i work on it, i will be using a lift but i will have to roll the car. i know pushing it on two wheels will destroy it, but is it ok to move it as long as all four wheels are spinning??
well i was asking because i just removed my motor and the exhaust mani is off.. do you think if i plugged up the cylinders that would stop the corrosion? what if i bolted the mani back on with the same gasket?
wow. i have ALWAYS dreaded removing axles.. always.. from hondas, to dodges, to mitsus they have always been a giant pain. well i have always had access to a lift and for the first time i did not. so i had to do this with the car jacked up 12 inches. went to autozone bought some pry bars for...
wow in the before picture your cylinder is so rusted it looks like a kid dropped red paint in there! ouch! did someone not have a spark plug in there for a long time?
to be honest with you none come to mind.. even the aftermarket vendors sell 4 bolts in their kits. that stud was such a PITA.. i wish we had an exhaust manifold gasket. would have made life a milion times easier. do not forget to buy one!!!!
yeah we did it on a lift too.. why you would want to drop the cross member, take out the front motor mount, support the motor/tranny with jacks as opposed to just unbolting the exhaust mani i don't know but i guess it would work that way too. if you are really opposed to remove the exhaust mani...
like idiots, we left the mani on the car.. the prob with doing it that way is that the t25 is attached to the manifold by 3 bolts and one stud. we figured we didnt need to remove the mani since we could just drop the turbo straight down. but with the mani on the car, the wastegate hits the front...
wow guys. i think if they are reading a thread about installing a 16 in a 2g they have already made up their minds.. jeez if you want i can start another thread for your argument
lets keep this a thread about helpful tips for those who are looking to attempt this install, and want to know what to expect.. t28 vs 16g has been discussed many many times before..
just got done doing an install on a friends gst and just about everything went wrong.. we learned a lot of things the hard way today.
these aren't tips so much as REQUIREMENTS that one could easily forget while planning an install.. read this and make sure the same doesn't happen to you.PB...

i can't believe nobody on here has mentioned exhausts.. how can hks and greddy charge $600 for catback exhaust? i don't have suppliers, i had to pay a company to do the welds for me, and it still came out at less than a fraction of the price. oh and as for r & d i am no engineer or mechanic, but...
and to add to what you guys did with the sheet metal, i have noticed that a LOT of cars have a big piece of black plastic that sticks out underneath the front bumper that diverts air up into the rad.. i mean everything from malibus, to tsxs, to corvettes..
dude that top piece looks a LOT like the cooling pieces that greddy sells for the evo and s2000 and such for a LOT of money!http://greddy.com/products/display/?Category=oil&SubCategory=33
yeah i am obsessed with fabrication and originality on dsms, and after reading that thread about all the work you did for rear porsche brakes i saved a pic of your car with a title: cayenne brakes.. i remember doing research on the evo steering wheel and i was told that it couldn't be done...
dude you are nuts. you have porsche brakes, honda gauges, and an evo steering wheel.. i don't give props out often, but you are good at what you do man. but you gotta give us some details on how you did this..
FD3S.. its the chassis code for the third generation tt rx7s.. the problem is that while rotaries make a lot of power, they are very gas and heat inefficent..
how can you tell which pole is which? on all the relays i have ever worked on there has been numbers on them.. on the fan and fog relays there are only wires coming out of the bottom..
