I wash mine every 2 years...:)This photo is funny for two reasons. One is obviously because of the white rims (got rid of them long time ago). The main reason however is that, it is being delivered like that, because...the stock oil gauge showed 0 pressure.I basically...
The nice thing about this setup is that you don't need to switch between mufflers so all you need to figure is where to put the second muffler. I do agree we don't have much space under our cars' rears.I found this pic of my car, it looks like this is a good place to fit a hidden second...
I would recommend the SPEC Stage 3+ but only when I figure out whether my issue with clutch longevity is due to my install error or the clutch itself. It absolutely beats the 2600 in driveability and supposedly holds more (so far I can't verify the last). Then again my 2600 "with an almost new...
My 3+ has started slipping bad at WOT. At first it would slip at WOT in 5th, now it slips pretty much in any gear, over 15-16 psi. EvoIII with full support @ ~20psi, but very rich and definitely not making gobs of power.Actually it started slipping a long time ago in higher gears after some...
I could very well end up with your muffler but I wonder how long will the motor last? I like dumb solutions, generally, cause they are the most robust.
Yeah that happened I think last winter. Luckily there were a few other cars driving with this one and helped pull it out. The driver promptly and enthusiastically got in another ditch not 10 min. later :) oh well. Not my business to judge! :DI think the secondary muffler can be made pretty...
Apparently there's a way to have both. This is a secondary muffler which is simply closed off. Now there might be a bit more about it, I don't know all the details yet, but I'm talking to a friend right now who just did it to his Audi and he says dyno before and after shows 0 hp...
I've been running it like that for maybe two years now. I never really tested it (like, drive with the whole thing disabled and then enabled and log some difference), however my butt dyno thinks it works as advertised. ;)
I've put on my stage3+ over 2K miles now for about a year, lots of city driving and I slip it a lot. Feels like the disk has become thinner - it engages higher. I wonder how long it'll last.
No I removed AC long time ago. Before the install I was seeing like 87C on the highway, now it's 100C and over.I'm thinking, maybe I should trim some more of the crashbeam and bumper so there's some air going around the IC and to the rad.
I boosted a lot today, with the EIII16G @19-20psi untuned I had 95% of the time 0 knock and sometimes 1-3 counts or so - probably because of the lack of tune and I think I'm a little lean. I need to get my wideband installed soon! The bad news is the car easily overheats now and my alternator...
Here's my full review of buying, receiving and installing the kit. I can't speak of performance yet because I haven't driven the car much except around the block. I have some things to fix before I really drive it.So I was looking for a FMIC kit and after reading this whole thread and looking...
If you searched the boards you'd have found this information easily. The vac. lines go like this: Intake vac. source -> vac. canister -> solenoid -> butterflyIf you have a JDM ECU you should make sure you are connecting the right solenoid to the right connector. I'm thinking there should be a...
Do NOT wait for the car to cool, you measure compression with the engine at operational temp. Crank the car until the gauge needle doesn't move anymore (might take more than 4 cranks).
Yeah rotating the old bearings didn't work for me cause the second I tried hammering them in they broke apart. Good I had new bearings and put them in smoothly.I found out that the perfect tool for this job is a duralast 1 1/4" socket (or was it 1 1/8...) The rear bearing fits perfectly on...
What does it matter, you have to replace that bearing as well anyway :)
But you will need to take out the front bearing now again and replace it after you replace the rear bearing, otherwise you can't get the rear bearing through.Or at least I couldn't.
I bought my new cover for $65 from JNZhttp://www.jnztuning.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=433Best vendor for OEM parts, if they don't have something in the catalog just ask them and they'll add it for you.
It took me two hours of careful porting with a pretty powerful electric die grinder to get a good port job of my 14b. I don't believe a dremel can do anything serious.
To convert to E85 you have to pretty much to upgrade/change your entire fuel system and you better have some good engine control electronics. It's something I've been thinking about but there's no E85 here in NJ at this time.
