Thanks for everyone's input. I'm gonna look into the power stop's and the stop tech's. I hear that certain pads and rotors don't get along together so it's nice to hear that stoptech makes a good pad.I just looked into the powerstop's. Yea, I don't think I'm going to be able to convince myself...
So I'm in the middle of piecing together the cobra kit for my project car, and I have everything picked out except brake pads. For rotors, I went with centric cryo treated high carbon rotors. The car is an AWD spyder getting a 2.2L motor and will be putting down 5-600hp. It's going to be...
Hey everyone, I'm here to gather some help from everyone. My g/f's cousin is an avid fitness guru. Her and her husband push themselves everyday to be the best they can, and they pass it along to everyone they can. She's recently gotten her certification to become a yoga instructor, and has her...
I know this is too little too late, but all you had to do was put a car cover on. You can have a car that was blown up with an RPG underneath and it's legal.
This should be really simple. Shift quality has 0 to do with how much torque your motor makes. Hypothetically, you should be able to bolt the trans to a 9000hp dragster and still shift the same at the same RPM. That's because ALL the power transfer is supposed to stop at the flywheel as soon as...
Stock sensors do use seals like that. I can't remember which electrical harness it was, but I know I've seen it on my car. I'm pretty damn sure the front o2 sensor plug right above the transmission has a similar looking seal. Just unplug all the harnesses and check. It'll take like 5 or 10 min...
This is quite possibly the biggest car show on the east coast. 625 cars ENTERED last year, and raised $22,000, which the proceeds went towards (I believe the Susan G Komen) research for breast cancer.Quoted:"STREET WARS 6! @ the Richard Stockton College of New JerseyJoin the war...
and yet again im back home at like 4 something. I'm gonna be pissed as hell if someone wakes me up in the morning. i think i might actually start talkin on here now after meeting everyone.
A lil pro-tip. If you soak some paper towels in any form of eatable oil and place them under the charcoal, they make a nice burner to light the coals. It'll save anyone having to go buy lighter fluid.I'm pretty damn sure i'm gonna make it, and I'll try to bring anything i can with me that's...
yea i'm sure the list has gotten even larger considering that's only 3 forums of the many it's been posted on and i'm not even on that list yet. We are running into an issue of possible rain on that day. i'll keep this thread updated on any raindate.
copied from the NJT post.DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF VEHICLES THAT ARE ATTENDING... THE MEET LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE GARDEN STATE PLAZA (MALL)1 Garden State Plaza
Paramus NJ 07652Garden State Plaza is conveniently located at the intersections of Rt. 4 and Rt. 17, and off Exits...
it took me a month to do the swap. heres a basic rundown off the top of my head.replace flywheel
replace starter plate
replace trans
swap entire rear subframe
run new ebrake cables
swap to AWD exhaust
swap to AWD gas tank
cut off old gas tank brackets
gut the inside of car to cut...
i chopped up part of an ebay exhaust to make my exhaust. they seem to be well made and look good, only problem is the pipes are really thin. It'll prob rust through after several years. my friend had an ebay exhaust on his 300zx which rusted through, but i dont know how long it was on the car.
2 thoughts. First, are you sure it's coming from the front? It could be the rear calipers freezing up. Second, a way to test if the rotors are touching the pad, find the longest road you can (maybe even get on the highway) and drive down it. Then, use the ebrake to pull over and come to a stop...
lol, i dont think anyone got a pic of you pulled over. we were too busy laughing. deffinately a good meet though. I dont think ill be eating seafood for a while. I washed my hands like 3 times and i can still smell the distinct odor of crabs.
There is no way in hell a siezed carrier bearing is going to twist a driveshaft. I just redid the entire drivetrain in my car doing the AWD conversion and the carrier bearings are held up by almost nothing. I'd agree with the above statement that your transfer case locked up. That will explain...
I was the last one to get there and was quite upset over missing everything. Alarm clock failed to wake me up and a 2hrs drive turned into a 3 1/2 hrs drive because of traffic. I woulda bought that wing and prob other stuff too if i had saw it. Oh well, it was worth the sight.

^Agreed. Make sure you bleed the air out of your coolant system and I'd use 70/30 considering that its 60* where you live right now. Make sure you only add distilled water; not tap. If it's still a problem, I think it might be your thermostat.
It wouldn't happen to be a blue evo with NY plates on it, would it? I happen to have another pic with that evo in it. I think I might swap that pic in.
Hey guys. I am pleased to announce that I have created a new NJDSM forum. It is a working progress as you'll see, but I hope that this becomes a more reliable NJDSM website to better organize us DSM'ers. NJDSM
