Hi : I use ver 3 but upon checking your log it looks good no knock, I think you sould start bumping timing 2 degrees at a time until you see knock and then back of to last no knock settings. be careful
as far as I know the TCU is interchangeable between 95-96 tsi and95-96 gsx the 97+ are different.

not realy any way to check other than check for leaks at the boaster side, i think you need to rebleed your brakes, they are cross over system so your RF is tied to the LR bleed both again. You may want to bleed all 4 to be sure.

the diff is in the tranny, if metal is present on magnets you may be able to tell by the shape where it came from, the diff also can be remover and checked. Check the link I posted, also is your car AWD-FWD NA or TSI
maybe blowing wastegate open, if it is internal tie it shut, external increase spring pressure and test it but watch the boast guage because you do not want to much this is just to rule out wastgate.

Sounds strange, only thing i can think of is because cruise was on when it went into neutral engine revved up and when you put it back in gear it broke the spiders or dif, drain the fluid and drop the pan to see if there are any steel on the magnets in the pan? Just a guess...
I see that you are running a AFPR so as long as fuel presure is set correctly 255 will work fine, make sure you have link setup for your injectors and maf. wiki is your friend.
